Very excited to finally share some pictures of my Dread Pirate Frogerts build! I've been thinking about making this outfit for my Kermit for a while now, but the proper motivation to actually get this done was hearing that Cary Elwes was announced as a guest for my local comic convention! So with any luck Dread Pirate Frogerts will be getting to meet the real Westley very soon.
A shocking amount of work went into making this little outfit... I completely underestimated the amount of time I would need to put all this together. Though a good chunk of that was me getting way too wrapped up in perfectionism... ask me how many times I re-did the smocking on the sleeves (On second thought, don't, it's embarrassing). Here I thought I had been con-crunching with Piggy last year... technically, I only just finished Kermit today, and the convention starts Thursday. Lots of internal (and external) screaming was had with this build. I did film the majority of it, with plans to turn it into a full video and reel in the future... maybe once I've had a chance to recoup from aforementioned con-crunch.

something about tmagp40 i haven't seen anyone else mention yet: heinrich unheimlich addresses alice with the german proper/formal "you" (Sie; used for strangers, acquaintances, teachers/superiors/businesspeople, basically anyone you're not on a first-name-friend-basis with):
...but he explicitly uses the improper/informal "you" for dane (du; used for people you're close with, kids, and is considered uhh... INCREDIBLY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL to use for people you don't know):
(given, "Wie du moechtest" isn't the most formal of phrases ("as you wish" isn't very proper), but there is definitely a way to say it with "Sie"/more formally if you try). he was being rude to dane on purpose. deserved and also hilarious
bonus: he also addresses alice by "Fraulein" near the end of the episode, which is also generally considered outdated/weird at best and condescendingly sexist at worst because it essentially translates to "unmarried woman/'young miss'" (when the term is used in modern-day it's usually an insult, or used by parents to refer to their daughters in a "you're in trouble missy" way). he addresses her politely as a business partner but still uses dated, century-old terms to refer to her rather than just saying "Frau" ("miss"/"woman"/general german term to refer to women in modern day). fascinating guy all around honestly.
