July 30th prompt
If you were in the LL universe, would you be Loric, Mogadorian, half alien, a Human Garde, or human?
I think one thing that is really interesting about the use of ice powers in Lorien legacy is that it opposes the typical ideas of rage and anger being associated with fire powers. Mariana harnesses her rage when she first attacks Five with her ice powers. Whenever I think of her powers I feel the cold hard rage radiating from her rather than the typical messy fiery rage. It even increases the frightening factor of her rage as it appears more calculated, premeditated.
You are telling me there wasn’t a single garde with the ability to like grow plants at will? There wasn’t at least one that could like sprout life with the flick of a hand? I only remember one scene where Seven could control plants but that might have even just been her healing powers at work rather than the ability to manipulate plant life. I don’t even remember any of the new garde having any sort of nature related powers. I think it would have been the perfect way to introduce the possibility of healing Lorien. If there was a garde that could grow plants or one who could manipulate earth surely some combination of their powers could have revitalized the planet enough for it to be inhabitable, at least for an alien race.
I think it’s that time of year again, it’s time to reread the complete Lorien legacies book series
Do you think Five writes moody poetry in his spare time? Cause I do
July 17th prompt
If you could resurrect three characters, who would you pick?
First of all, it’s really says something about these books that picking three characters is difficult because there are so many characters who have died over the course of the books.
I would pick Henry, Eight and Ran. Henry served as a great plot device but did not deserve to die. Eight and Ran simply stole my heart and they wanted nothing more than to protect their friends, they are too pure for this world but I I still want them back.
The garde as lyrics from songs from folklore by Taylor Swift
Four(John): hoax
“Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in”
“You knew the hero died, so what's the movie for?”
“You knew it still hurts underneath my scars”
Five: my tears ricochet
“I can go anywhere I want, Anywhere I want, just not home”
“And you're the hero flying around, saving face”
“If I'm on fire, you'll be made of ashes too”
“You had to kill me, but it killed you just the same”
Six: mad women
“What did you think I’d say to that”
“I breathe flames each time I talk”
Seven: epiphany
“Only twenty minutes to sleep, But you dream of some epiphany, Just one single glimpse of relief, To make some sense of what you've seen”
Eight: the lakes
“I'm not cut out for all these cynical clones”
“Tell me what are my words worth”
Nine: peace
“Our coming-of-age has come and gone”
“And you know that I'd swing with you for the fences, Sit with you in the trenches”
Ella: seven
“Are there still beautiful things?”
“Love you to the moon and to Saturn”
Adam: this is me trying
“I've been having a hard time adjusting”
“They told me all of my cages were mental”
I feel as if I remember everything and nothing about BBC Merlin at the same time. Do I vividly remember scenes from the show word by word?! Of course. But have I also simultaneously forgotten entire seasons?! Yes, yes I have.
Lorictober Day 4
When the phone rings in the middle of the night, the effect is instantaneous. Around the world 9 individuals rise room their beds, thoughts running through their heads faster then they thought possible. Yet one thought remains constant, they are coming. The garde are coming and Lorein has fallen. They don’t know what to expect or even who they will find when the reach the meeting point. All they now is that the garde are coming and not far behind them, the mogadorians. Two alien species headed directly for them, one to seek shelter and one to hunt those who stand to protect earth. Allies and enemies alike, they are coming.
Lorictober Day 3
What if the Ella’s telepathy could reach from anywhere a crossed the world? The garde would have been so well informed about the movement and spotting of the mogs and it would have been a safe way for them to be able to communicate without risking the protection charm. It would have just made everything so much easier like they would instantly know when someone was captured and where they were, they wouldn’t have to search the news for signs of the other garde because Ella would know where everyone was. But Five could have used it to his advantage too. It would have been such a complex plot device because any time a garde was found by a mog or saw one, they would not know if it was a coincidence or a betrayal. The complexity it could have brought to the story even if Ella only figured it out half away through the series it still could have had a great impact.
Lorictober Day 1
I want marina to have an icicle weapon. It could be sword length with a spikes near the hilt or a pair of daggers she keeps in her belt. Thought she can Simon ice at will and it may seem unnecessary I felt like it would be an enhancement to her fighting style and it would just be so cool. (Haha)
I’m like genuinely exciting for lorictober because it is making me want to create content again. I think the burnt out gifted kid in me is thriving from having deadlines.
Simon Lewis is the best character from the shadow hunters tv show and books and no one an convince me otherwise.
My first ever percy jackson fanfiction included the line "all the gods of Olympus cam down from the sky, well not Hades of course because you know." And ended with everyone eating an absurdly large cake but I still think it was better than the actually ending of the Blood of Olympus.
Which garde legacy do you think would be the most useful?
My top pick would be the ability to speak and understand all languages.
Ok but like why did the everyone from lorien split up when they got to earth. I know the whole protection spell and everything only worked if they were separated but would they not be so much stronger together?
Imagine they all go somewhere very hidden away like Antarctica or like north canada or Russia or the Sahara desert or like a random island in the middle or the ocean or a random boat in the middle of the ocean.
They are literally aliens, they would have to have so way of hiding themselves.
This way the garde could grow up surrounded by people who understand their powers and they wouldn't have to worry about exposing their powers and themselves.
Also if something ever happened to one of their cepan the child wouldn't be an orphan and alone. Seems a lot safer to me.
Best of all, the garde could have friends without being worried they would have to move and never see them again.
I can imagine what the supply runs would look like in these scenarios. Five, because he is still a good person in this head cannon, carrying Six in his arms in order to keep them both invisible. And later on, when Four discovers he can have literally every legacy, he would join them, flying along side them. They would have competitions to see who could carry the most supplies with their telekinesis. These competitions often lead to a race back to their home because one form of competition is never enough for the garde.
