We love Malinda Herman!
"I turned to look, but it was gone. I cannot put my finger on it now. The child is grown. The dream is gone. I have become..." 🙋♀️
Momma's kitty!
Slippin into Thursday with Classical
Me, munching on Wavy Wavy Applewood 🥓 Smoked Chedder Pringles at 9 am, "Lucky Boi! No. Cats can't eat chips!" 🐱
He sits by my side, tapping me on my shoulder.
"No, ☝️ no good for kitties!"
I crack into a chip. Half of it falls on my chest. (Yes, I'm slouching back, listening to tunes and watching the cars 🚗 go by.) Red is the best bet 😉.
The powdery treat lay on my pajama top. (Yes, pajamas. Hey, I had a big day yesterday!)
He LURCHES forward and snatches the chip! Thinking he would spit it out, I watch him. He eats it! Looks at me, his eyes wide as fryin' pans,
🍳🍳, licking his lips! 😯...
We both sit watching the cars go by. 🚗
Hmm. 😑
Dang, now I'm gonna hafta buy more chips! 🙄

Dear Friends, 💟 chronically fabulous ♿👸🤴 and otherwise:
As a chronically ill person in chronic pain, when I have an ☆AMAZING☆ day like this one, I want to share it!
Yesterday, I was in so much pain 😣 (and you chronic pain people know we don't speak about it's depths 🤐) that I thought my week long hiatus from the pool would have to continue. But I woke up and ::tentatively:: went about my day.
I had to refill my weekly pill holder 💊 and my cats 🐱🐱🐱 didn't swipe ANY this time.
I created a Mellow 70's playlist, which is the music that is reminiscent of my elementary school years 🥳 And friends, I was able to - wait for it- dAnNcE!!!💃 Of course, it was 20 seconds, rest 5 minutes, then repeat. A feeble attempt it was. I'm sure if David Crosby 🧙♂️ saw me boogy-ing he would be shaking his head. But nonetheless, it felt really good!
I had enough confidence to gather trinkets for "Monday Memories". I got together a care bag for my daughter; a picture of her and her friends when they were giggling teens, a purple butterfly pendant, and a whimsical magnet.
Now, although my girl 👧 lives only ten minutes away, I have a condition called geographical dyslexia; a term I coined used to describe my unique ability to get completely lost in the neighborhood I've lived my entire life. This did not thwart "Monday Memories"! There is a new thing called Google Maps! 🤪 and I made it safe and sound and deposited the bag of goodies at my daughter's doorstep. 🏡
I continued on to aqua therapy class. 🏊♀️ Now I've gone to this pool for five years, but I tell you, the pool never felt so good as it did today. Not too cold, not too warm, the water felt so soft and inviting! I flopped around like a toddler 👼 discovering the ocean. I did the backstroke. I went under water and pinched Sammie's butt three times. I floated on my back while meditating on the ceiling. 🧘♀️ My body usually feels like creaking steps sound, but during class, I stretched out muscles I never knew I had... and it felt good. 🥰
The "kids in the pool" all seemed to be in a good mood, and even though our beloved leader was out on vaycay, her stand-in was really kewl. 🤸♀️
After class, my legs withstood a FULL shower! Full I tell ya! 🧖♀️ Shampooed hair and everything! I did not falter(this time) when Diann turned out the 💡 lights while I was in there. (I knew it was you, Diann!)
On the way home, the traffic 🚗 was near non-existent and I didn't get lost once.
When I arrived home, friends, what was on my porch but a long awaited purchase: a specialty tarot deck I ordered on ebay from an illustrator in the UK who draws kitty cartoons!
And btw, what the heck, today's a good day so YES! I am coming out: My name is Lori and I am a tarot card reader 🧙♀️ and Jesus still loves me! 😃 (The cards are little works of art! 🖼 )
While I was writing this lil diddy, the volunteer coordinator from our local hospital called about my application to be a baby cuddler! 🤱 She set up an appointment for an interview.
Now what accounts for this amazing day?
•Could it have been the caffeine in the two Exedrin I took?
•Were there tiny crystals of cocaine in the pool?
•Was it Jesus answering my fear of dying from bedridden immobility?
•Was it in the stars? Is mercury rising ✨ in the 5th house? (I have no idea what that means! 😁)
•Was it the 70's playlist 🎧 boosting my spirits?
Perhaps it was a little bit of all (except the cocaine thing 🤪) but I remain thankful for such a day. You know, you can be in the depths of despair, don't know quite how you're going to make it another day and here comes one that feels like your over 🌈 the rainbow. Hold on to that day and be thankful; thankful that it happened and you could share it with friends you love and family you cherish.
I dub this: The day I was super girl! 🦸♀️
Adventure Awaits You, JB! (From Sugar & Spice Oracle on Etsy!)
If you could have bought stock in Microsoft at its opening price in 1986 of $21, would you? Such is Vishuddha Das.
At only 26, Vishuddha Das shines like a diamond ring, all while showing you how a turquoise one is just as valuable. - and we understand it.
I became acquainted with this innocuous, gentle, young man while searching the internet for 'root chakra'. His eyes glistened with the mirror of the camera while his easy voice drew me in.
Vishudda Das is among a plethora of vloggers, bloggers, and content makers. So what is different about him?
Let me count the ways for you.
I poured over his videos, trying to find a catch or a hole in what he was "selling". Since the dawn of thought, everyone tries to sell us something, right?
He is not selling us anything. While you can be a paetron supporting him in his world traveling work, he does not shove any 'thing", any teaching, or any shiny new object down your throat. In fact, it was difficult to decipher just what or who he stood for. Hindu? Buddhism? Lord Krishna?
Put a pin in that thought.
This is his third incarnation; from Jackson Daniel, to Koi Fresco, resting firmly in Vishuddha Das. He tells us his guru donned him with this name. In Indian it means "very pure spirit".
My psychotherapeutic mind begged me to view these different names as an escape from himself. But try as I might, this is not the case. Instead, one can truly see how it's not an escape from a former self as much as it is him growing in to what he is to become.
I gleaned what this guy was all about in his video called 'How to Be Happy'. As his friends explained what happiness looks like to them, I could not keep my eyes off his reaction. His eyes playfully danced as he smiles looking upon them. He brings his hand to his chin and twists his young, brillo beard with the nervous excitement of a proud and loving mother.
So back to where we 'put a pin in it'.
Who and what does he stand for? As corny as this sounds, he stands for you and me. The 'what' is happiness.
Vishuddha Das stands unapologetically as an experiencer of life to show us what he has learned, as innocent and pure as a kindergartner.
So thinking upon the meaning of the name Vishuddha Das, I can't help but concur with Swami Saradevananda. Vishuddha Das translates as very pure servant. He exudes pureness. That is not to say he is pure, as he will readily tell you. (You can read about his struggles in 'A (not so) Enlightened Youth'. ) To me, he is pure in the way that we all want to become. Pure in intention, without an ounce of self-conscious. Pure as in love for all. Pure as in no judgement. All inclusive. He grabs our attention with our own desire to learn. I believe that is what we are all looking for; something good and true to hold on to, especially an era of turmoil, half truths, and mauled on morality.
If the 'steel' wool is being pulled over our eyes, we welcome it because the end result is a beautiful way to live. The end result is love. And love can change the world.
