Unknown Threats: Pt 2
((Unknown Threats: Pt 1))
He was hallucinating now, the visions coming at him hard and fast, making him believe his reality was a living nightmare. He wasn’t sleeping well, he was in a constant state of delirium, and his fever was raging on, threatening to push him over the edge to the sweet darkness that beckoned him each time he closed his eyes.
Everything hurt. Everything. His head. His chest. His stomach. His eyes. The aches, the inferno, it assaulted him. More than once he’d shifted into his beast’s form without realizing it, destroying sheets and clawing the bed posts, roaring his fury before he became too exhausted to continue and he’d crumple into a heap upon the floor or bed. Harriett and Lorraine were in danger during those episodes. Emory, thank the gods, was never permitted to see him in this state for the danger to the child was too great.
Dawncliffe hadn’t a clue if it was contagious, nor could they figure out the source of what it was that was causing such ill strife for their lordship. So Jacob was quarantined - Harriett and Lorraine having only been the two allowed to see him. But now that Lorraine had been unable to aid him, and even against Harriett’s pleas, it would be time to find another doctor who could hopefully aid him before it was too late…
