Wasnât it though? Wasnât the way Caleb looked at him mere invitation enough or perhaps it was those stumbling words. âI would do far worse things with your words,â the wolf countered while the boy was still caught in his grasp, prey to his idly hands and warm words. He intends to say more but his gaze lingers on the way color stains the boyâs face, painted shades of red with embarrassment. If he did not know before how inexperienced Caleb was, he knows now.
Still the knowledge does not drive him to cruelty.
Instead the wolf waits, watching the various stages of panic and knows that soon the clever boy in his grasp is going to lash out when it becomes too much. As Caleb mumbles biting words, Emrys refrains from laughing. Instead he smiles against the warmth of skin finding his fondness growing further for the brazen human.
There it is. Calebâs breaking point.
Words are stunted, half-made sentences that rush out between them. As those hands lash out, he catches them in a vice-like grip. Wrists are snared between one palm and held back against cold tile while the length of his body kept Calebâs squirming body in place. It might appear malicious, as though the wolf intended to make a meal of the human splayed out across the small island counter.
But there is fondness in his gaze, something akin to a smile on his lips, and his fingers are not bruising in their imprisonment of thin wrists.
âSo what youâre saying,â the wolf murmurs against Calebâs throat, âis that if it werenât in the kitchen, you could.â Lips press to the artery carrying the boyâs rapid pulse as his free hand sets to smoothing along a thin hip. Leaning back, he watches the boyâs face and hums quietly in thought. Soon fingers cup a warm cheek, thumb brushing across that pinkish red hue.
âIâll go at your pace, for now.â
Itâs a decision carefully made. Emrys is far from being a creature of restraint but with Caleb he can at least make a valiant attempt. Still, he has to give the boy creditâhe hasnât smiled this much in a century. âAnd I will do more than give you a new shirt,â the wolf continues, âon one condition.â Now those canines are visible as he looks over Caleb, meets those eyes with such want and hunger in his own.
âIâll do it for a kiss.â
