i see everyone who has been a victim of blood magic wanting nothing to do with blood play ever (honorable mention to ameridan who has it as a hard no but is just cautious like that) but i think. hmm. khima leans into it a little? especially if their partner isn’t a mage and the danger is far lessened?

i've ruminated on this a bit more last night (sorry to via who put up with me at 2am lol) and i think they would also, very cautiously, be willing to experiment with blood magic itself as long as they had a third party safeguard. blood play is something they feel they can handle on their own (more or less), and magic to small extents, but blood magic itself they know they would be deliberately putting themselves in a position where they cannot trust themselves to tap out, or be capable of tapping out, due to the nature of blood magic. and so they'd want, specifically, a mage who they trust and who is stronger than their scene partner to be nearby to supervise that for them

#which is why playing with blood magic in a scene might not ever even happen because the mages they consistently trust to be #Stronger Than Anyone Else are [checks notes] ...... felassan and solas. lol. and emmrich probably esp since they encourage him to go lich?#and i think they'd be picky about how the blood magic is used. it'd be the most Negotiated of any kind of play they ever do #solas' blood magic had such a light touch they would often forget he was ever even using it on them and they... don't want that experience #again i think even in a controlled scenario. they would want it to be more overt and blatant control. but just in case! that's why they #want the third party; in case they do forget/don't realize/keep check of their boundaries when they themselves will inherently not be able #i also think they prefer to keep sex out of scenes like this but they aren't opposed to it if their partner wants to have it #it's just not what THEY are here for and they don't need it to get what they wanna get out of it #suggestive //

now i do think any vampire tasting khima’s blood would be in for a, shall we say, interesting experience and not just because khima is dry jumping their leg about it

#idk if they’d taste good or bad but i do think it would be like forgetting you dropped acid and then very abruptly remembering that shit #in the worst way an hour later lol

sometimes i like to think what kinds of demons would be most likely to visit each of my characters and i think khima’s would be some form of anger or shame

shitposting about varric the unwilling voyeur aside, khima DOES keep the lyrium dagger on their person or within their immediate reach at almost all times. part of that is subconscious and it’s also an answer to the very practical issue of pure lyrium is an extremely toxic material and apparently The Khima is one of the few places it can BE kept without driving anyone insane or burning through five floors and dropping into the basement or something else crazy

khima ingellvar is technically an exceptional singer insofar as they have the ability to perfectly mimic any sound that they hear, but they don't bring much originality to the act. the enjoyment people get from listening to them sing is usually tempered by the blatant realization that someone else's voice is coming out of their mouth. but khima still enjoys doing it, particularly as a child singing liturgical hymns in the chantry choirs. when they're alone, singing to themself or perhaps to a spirit, it might even be their own natural voice they use. who can say!

as far as instrumental music goes, they have a lot more difficulty with it. their mimicry is limited to sound itself. they can't watch someone play an instrument and then immediately physically play it perfectly, because they don't have the physical conditioning to do so. over their years in nevarra they only ever learned to play one instrument: the recently-invented accordion. they're actually pretty proud of it.
