Nightmares have begun to live and breathe, their voices are horror incarnate and roam this desolate, diseased land. An ostracized Wanderer, a keen predator in her own right must overcome her fears to become remembered for her final hunt, in the world of Hiraeth.

Hiraeth : Dawn’s Hunt is our first comic project here at Hearthship Studios and we’re loving every minute of it. It is a 23 page short story of a Wanderer traversing this harsh, nightmarish world - is she hunting, or being hunted is unknown for now.

Finished Chapter 6!

“Sometimes, why we do things is only clear once we do them.”

Finished writing, editing and coding Chapter 6! 🎉The game stands at one million and twenty-two thousand words - code excluded. 😱

We reached the million! It’s not a milestone I had planned, but it’s a milestone all the same. One that I am… dazed to have met. This chapter is the biggest of them all, mainly because it is the meeting point of a lot of threads. A lot of variables. If the Rose was a giant river, then Chapter 6 is the spot where all the affluents meet. With its treacherous waters and deadly currents and foam splashing you in the face. 

It was a big effort to write, but as I had expressed before, an effort I was very glad to make. I’m really pleased with how it turned out! And now that the rapids are behind, I can safely sail my way into the ocean. 

Because that’s the next step, Chapter 7. The last chapter of book one. Just one more, you guys! 😭

I’ll be taking a few days off writing, but the goal is to finish the first draft of Chapter 7 before the end of the month.

Had a few messages about not being able to see the details so hope this is a bit better - thank you for all the support on the comic, which is going really well, though I wish I could show more of it, but rather keep the mystery going. Stay safe everyone. More about the story and its roots: there’s a lot of parallels between entomology and entomology in the story. I’ve always found insects and metamorphosis interesting and also that of the spoken and written word - almost magical what a few words can do, if spoken at the right or the wrong time

Samsun hopes to be able to work hard like Samson one day, but for now he’ll keep hanging out in the living room until he gets a bit more confidence
