SMACK REBLOG SO DAMN FAST
Arin kissed back, wrapping his arms around Dan's neck. He heard hollaring and cheering from their audience, but he didn't mind.
Arin didn't pull away until he needed to catch his breath, resting his forehead against Dan's, laughing and reaching up to wipe the tears from his own cheek.
"Whose last name are you taking?" Ross asked, cheekily.
"I'm gonna shove cake in your face first," Arin laughed, standing up a little straighter. Barry beamed from behind the pair, and Arin could feel the heat in his cheeks rise.
Arin shook his head playfully, barely listening to Barry speak. Before he knew it, Suzy was holding out either of the silver bands, and Arin was holding Dan's. He repeated the question, word for word, Barry spoke to him.
He gently turned Dan's hand over in his palm, waiting to hear the other say those two words- ones he never expected to hear, before he gently slid the ring onto Dan's finger, and let go, for the other to examine it.
Suzy held out the remaining ring to Dan. Arin listened to Barry, and the echo of Dan, before he nodded, ducking his head.
"Of course I do," he laughed, voice trembling lightly.
Arin's eyes watered, and he ducked his head in turn a minute, taking in a breath. There was a sarcastic 'awww' from Ross, but in good taste.
"Barry, can you move this to the part where I can kiss him and that can be my response?" He half laughed, half sniffled. There were teafs springing to the corners of his eyes.
"You know me, man. I'm... I'm here, all at once, and I'm so loud about it all the time. But... it didn't seem to throw you off too bad. You put up with me when I couldn't, and when I was figuring out what I needed to do with myself. During my awkward animating years and the transition from the office being a... a thing, to a real job. You were there for the tours, and you kept saying you loved me. I don't know how you managed. Sometimes I still wonder if I'm any good for you, dude, but... but here you are."
Arin shook his head, laughing, though crying. "I guess I knew, one way or the other, you'd be in my life for the rest of it. I'm... I'm amazed, how Mr. 'I can't do relationships, no homo' wants me, of all fuckin people, as his husband, but... I'm not complaining, Daniel. There's nothing else I would want."
Arin squeezed Dan's hands, and inhaled sharply, though he wasn't upset. Just amazed. And shocked.
.
It was a few minutes before Ross texted back. Heads turned as the back door slid open.
It was afternoon, and a gentle buzz of fairy lights glowed around the backyard, as well as candles in glass jars illuminated the walkway.
Holly and Ross stood up front, to the left, as Suzy stood with an empty space beside her to the right, for Brian, with Barry in the middle of the archway, smiling wide.
Arin hadn't lifted his eyes, until he heard the door close. He nibbled his bottom lip, and looked up. He'd seen Dan in a suit once or twice, sure, but... This seemed different. Royal. Stunning. Beautiful.
It twisted something in Arin's gut as he stood beside Barry. There was everyone close to him there, and he was terrified. Scared to meet Dan's gaze. Petrified to know if Dan wanted to stop the entire ceremony right then, and there.
Of course, Arin wouldn't know until after Barry addressed the duo, and Dan spoke his part first. And it rattled him, so much so he could only keep his hands in his pockets to keep from fidgeting with his own suit.
