Enter lifesaver and fake-fiancé, Jimin. my thoughts: ok, i read this like a week or two ago but i still remember vey clearly that it was hilarious. it’s a pretty short read, too, so it’s perfect for a short break or something. also, i can’t stop laughing over the title. read it!

review another one of my absolute favourite fics (and writers). it’s gonna sound intimidating at first because holy shit it’s already 36 chapters but all chapters are a very manageable length and since it’s nonlinear it’s cool to read some of it whenever you feel like it (or be like me, and read 26 chapters at once and then cry about it to your friend for three hours). it’s just extremely cute and domestic and the characterisation is so on point it makes me want to fling myself into the sun. in a good way.

my thoughts: OH MY GOD THIS IS SO GOOD. I felt so freaking emotional after reading this. Yoongi’s quiet anxiousness was written so well, I’m just speechless.

author: godplexes pairing: yoonseok rating: PG-13 length: WIP chaptered (3/?), 6476 words warning: prepare to die from fluffiness au: harry potter summary: in the midst of year five, jung hoseok stumbles into min yoongi's life with annoying habits, puppy eyes, and a critical need for tutoring in potions. the following school year, yoongi doesn't expect to fall so much, so quickly. my thoughts: this is so adorable and i've been in dire need of good yoonseok fics lately (hit me up if you found any good recent yoonseok fics). i think my favorite chapter so far is the third - the plant babies in the hufflepuff room are precious and you will see what i'm talking about if you read it. read it!

author: taethereal pairing: taegi, side jihope rating: mature length: oneshot, 12249 words warning: you will want to read this again and again au: college summary: Taehyung is too much of a fool to see that he’s got Yoongi wrapped around his finger. my thoughts: i freaking love taegi but amazing taegi fics are like gems in the middle of the ocean. this is one of them. i’m not sure how many times i’ve reread this but i always come back to it when i feel like reading some good taegi. please check it out if you haven’t yet. it’s absolutely precious and i’m always a sucker for good childhood friends to lovers fics. read it!

author: astringxnt pairing: taekook, side yoonminseok and namjin rating: mature length: oneshot, 16052 words warning: taekook being stupid and not admitting that they love each other au: married for financial aid summary: “somewhere along the way, we will all realize that we only start chasing the things that we were once given a taste of.” (or, in which Jungkook and Taehyung get married to qualify for more financial aid.). my thoughts: i love friendship to lover stories that are well done. the dynamic between taekook is comfortable and intense in turns, and this fic basically sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions, especially towards the end. read it!

author: JemKay pairing: sugamon rating: explicit length: oneshot, 6372 words warning: your heart will ache for yoongi au: college summary: yoongi has a plan for his birthday and that's to go out, get drunk, maybe have a questionable hookup, and definitely not think about the lowkey crush he may or may not have on his English tutor. that plan falls apart when kim namjoon walks through the door and jimin's face lights up like christmas came early. my thoughts: the vulnerability in yoongi's pining really got to me. note the rating ;) read it!

author: WillowSong pairing: vmin rating: mature length: oneshot, 2940 words warning: violence, minor character deaths au: suicide squad, harvey quinn x poison ivy summary: Namjoon doesn’t move, standing frozen in between the two most insane criminals of his generation as one of them steps closer, a coy smile on his face. “You should’ve checked a lot of things, warden,” he says softly. “But it’s too late for that now.” my thoughts: it’s haunting and insane in the most satisfying way. somehow, this au fits vmin so well. check out this edit as well! it’s not made for the fic, but it’s perfect for it. read it!

Or the one where Hoseok blackmails Yoongi into teaching him how to get his crush to like him. my thoughts: gosh, this is so adorable, i couldn’t help but grin while reading this. i love yoongi’s soft spot for hobi irl, so seeing it expressed well in fic makes me happy. read it!

Let's Not Hurt Anymore

author: exfatamorgana pairing: namjin rating: mature length: chaptered (8), 87853 words warnings: homophobia, original character death(s), religious content, police brutality, slurs, swearing, coming out, depression, implied/referenced suicide au: living in a heteronormative society summary: They don’t talk about it, and usually no one thinks to ask. But if you did, Namjoon and Seokjin would tell. They aren’t keeping secrets, and if you asked them, they’d answer. It just so happens that on a Sunday, not much different from any other Sunday, the other boys think to ask. So how do two people who are always together end up… together? my thoughts: this is a heavy fic (heed the warnings). i literally teared up every chapter. it’s a story that tackles important, difficult issues like the social phenomenon of homophobia and what living with depression is like. i also appreciated how the author wrote about seokjin’s struggle with his faith and identity. this is actually one of the best bts fics i’ve ever read - fics like this is the reason why i read fics. it’s radical, it’s emotionally charged, and it’s so meaningful. this is the last part of a series, but can be read as a standalone (although i also highly recommend the junghope part of the series if you want a really amazing slow burn dance au) read it!

author: perfectyoongi pairing: jikook rating: PG-13 length: oneshot, 7402 words warning: second-hand embarrassment (although we are probably used to that feeling as bts stans by now) au: neighbors summary: whenever jeongguk bumps into his attractive neighbour, nothing seems to go right. my thoughts: after seeing jungkook dab a million times, i needed a fic where jungkook is being an absolute dork. this fulfilled all my needs and more. this whole fic is basically jungkook embarrassing himself in front of his hot new neighbor, and it’s great. read it!

author: bazooka pairing: jihope, very side namjin rating: ch 1-6 is mature, ch 7 explicit length: chaptered (7), 49629 words warning: minor character death, implied/referenced abuse au: space opera, spies & secret agents, fake marriage, mob summary: No one could agree on whether Krampus was a man or a woman. One person or several. Whether it was even the same person (or people) every time, every hit, every nuclear explosion or leaked evidence of electoral tampering or Robin Hood-esque creative redistribution of goods… it was just Krampus. Mysterious. Unreachable. Unknowable. Silent - until that moment of destruction, of pain and screaming and retribution… when there came The Holly And The Ivy, singing through the speakers. my thoughts: i love well-written sci-fi, and good sci-fi fics are hard to come by. i didn’t expect this one to be so good, but i was absolutely blown away. bazooka has an amazing sense of pace and story-telling, and the plot and chemistry between jimin and hoseok took me along for a wild ride. this felt novel worthy. read it!

Lost and Found

author: xxdevilishxx pairing: junghope, side yoonmin rating: PG length: WIP chaptered (11/?), 112028 warning: it’s long. although it didn’t feel long when i was reading it. summary: Sometimes people fall in love after they get married (aka spending your life tied to a stranger is hard, but Jungkook and Hoseok decide to give it a try and stumble across love along the way) my thoughts: i love the way hoseok is written here - i think that hoseok is a character that is hard to write with depth, but this author is so good at it. also, the interactions between hoseok and jungkook are so sweet that i smiled like an idiot the whole time i was reading this. i also greatly appreciated the way family and friendships are written here, because romantic relationships are often portrayed as the most important kinds of relationships when that’s not true at all. where has this fic been all my life? read it!

Track one: (I love you)

author: dalliancee pairing: jikook, a bunch of other side ships rating: PG-13 length: oneshot, 30180 words warning: you might not want to put it down. try not to read right before you are supposed to go to sleep like i did. au: bffs to lovers (it takes a long time to get there btw) summary: Just way too close, just by the fingertips — and only by the fingertips. That’s all they will ever be. my thoughts: I am like, absolutely destroyed by this fic. From the get go, it hooked me in. Its pacing is so well-done, and there is a depth to the story that I didn’t expect. I love how the author slowly revealed the real reason behind why they never confessed, and that’s a sign of really good writing. Every character was written with thought and care, which I also really appreciated. read it!

my thoughts: i keep re-visiting this fic because it’s got everything i want in a yoonseok fic!!!!! all the delicious pining and their dynamics are so perfect. the way that they act so natural together even while ‘fake dating’ is a testament to how comfortable they are as best friends and it makes my heart ache to read (which is when i know a fic is good). also this author writes yoonseok so well, check out the rest of their fics.

author: taethereal pairing: taejin, side jikook rating: mature length: oneshot, 13209 words warning: breathplay au: soulmate summary: Taehyung has spent his entire life running from the very thing that Seokjin has spent his searching for. my thoughts: jin’s pov was my fave part of this story - his character was so well written and really shines imo. what i wish is that there was an actual couple in this story that wasn’t meant for each other according to their tattoos. read it!
