Mod Notes

Hello all!

Before we begin this little ask blog's story proper, allow me to set some ground rules and explain how this little project will work.

This blog is a story. A story in which you all can help steer it through choices that will eventually pop up.

To clarify, you can't just say (I appear and explode all the bad guys or I appear and put out the fire).

Sometimes, I might allow someone's oc to appear in the actual story itself. Not all the time though (carpal tunnel my be-loathed)

Asks will sometimes be taken out of turn of when they are actually received. Other times, they will be taken out of the story entirely and given to the characters as an 'out-of-story' type ask. This is mostly due to me wanting to be silly; a bit of whimsy if ya like.

This is an AU! So, it doesn't exactly line up with actual MLP narrative/lore stuff.

Updates to the blog will be a bit slow, I'm a bit of a busy person as of late unfortunately, Summer/Fall are both very busy times of the year, for me.

Multiple ocs will appear in this blog, so please say who you want to direct your asks towards. Once multiple are involved properly, I'll add who can and can't receive asks to this pinned post.

This blog will involve some blood, swearing, depression, and ideas of unreality and the idea of self. When this does happen, I'll put a warning at the top of the page.

Finally, I have the ability to reject asks, be it that it makes me (the mod) uncomfortable or otherwise.

The most important note is this: I'm happy to be able to join you all in this community, and I hope that you enjoy my goofy little story.

The two return to the batpony's house. Once the batpony sets the strange orb onto the table and wraps it up in one of Crimson's spare scarves, the thing immediately starts to shudder, glow, and rise.

Starwick and Crimson are now both available for asks.

A lone batpony stands in the living room of his house. Overlooking a cauldron as something crashes in the distant. His friend, a pegasus, enters the house quickly after and urges him to follow. The two ponies hurry out into the night.

Despite not knowing what they had found, the two decide to take the orb back with them to the batpony's house on the hill.

As something streaks across the sky and crashes to the ground, the lookout tower's lights turn on.

Kiln (yellow text): " What was that?"

Crimson (red text): " I don't know, but I tend to find out, Kiln."

Kiln (yellow text): " Good luck, Crimson... By the night, What a way to end your shift."

Silence once again. A lone house sitting on the highest hill just a bit west of the forest. Snow covers the ground around it as a singular light glows from within.

The Astronomer.

The protagonist of the first story, one that shares the same title. An Insomniac that's constantly searching the stars for answers. To what questions? Well, to be honest, he doesn't really know that himself.

With the first chapter of The Astronomer wrapped up, I wanted to post his special drawing. When I get to Chapter 2, I hope to do Bea's drawing.

Gonna turn off asks for a little bit. Need to rest my wrists and eyes a bit before hard committing to this new side of the story.

It's officially one year since I've started working on this ask blog. How time flies in such a little time. I wanted to do a little something for the occasion. So, this is what I came up with.

So, here's Mandrake (top), Connor and Bea (middle), and Crimson and Starwick (bottom). While Crimson and Starwick have not been formerly introduced yet, I still wanted to work on a better idea on how they looked.

I'm also taking a bit of a break from working on this blog. Not a long one, but I want to focus on my main blog for a little bit. Do some drawings that aren't tied to the idea of getting nonexistent asks. This also means I get to work on some rewrites for this next bit.

This break won't be long, I hope.

It ends in quiet. It ends in the soft, slightly strained breathing of a tired individual. Hopefully when he and his friend wake up, it'll be a better day of solving mysteries and living life.

So, the end of The Astronomer's first chapter. I'm happy that I've reached the end of this introductory bit. Funny how it took a whole year to reach this point.

Now that I've finished up this chapter, I do plan on working on The Alchemist after giving my mind and hands a break.

Anyways, I hope that people have enjoyed my first attempt at doing, and keeping up with updating, a comic like this.

It'll probably operate in a similar manner. That being that the first chapter will be more of a comic that'll eventually lead to asks. You all, good readers, can still send asks anyways. Also, we're nearing the first anniversary for this blog. So, that's fun.

Happy Pride everybody! I wanted to do something with the current protagonist and deuteragonist of Lost Stars and Eternal Eclipses.

She closed the door once we finished our exchange. After, I watched as her silhouette disappeared into the darkness of the balcony. I could still hear her as she made her way up the fire escape and back to her apartment. To be honest, I don't know how long I stood still and listened after that. I couldn't help but sigh.

At least that part of the night was real. I could trust that she was real.

The ORB hovered about the room in the meanwhile. I hadn't noticed it until she said it, but the orb did let out a strangely loud hum.

Since we're nearing the end of this story's first chapter, I wanted to do some bigger drawings for it. Namely, I wanted draw a more detailed version of Connor's apartment.

Various doodles of Bea (and a sneaky Connor in the top right). This was mainly used for figuring out a different hairstyle that I could use and some different outfits.

I'm debating on if I'll actually use Bea's work outfit. It's a similar debate to whether or not I'll be using Connor's work outfit.

What's not a debate is the drawing in the bottom right. I wanted to sketch out a little bit of her apartment. A concept, so to speak.

I've had the idea in my head to do covers for each arc of the story for a decent while now.

Admittedly, this cover has been sitting in the drafts for a long while. I've mostly been waiting for Bea to make her debut in the story.

I've been having fun with this story. Having it set at night means I can simplify the backgrounds.

Also, I've started plotting out the prologue and chapter one of the other story.

Beatrix 'Bea' Cloude. One of Connor's closest friends and just so happens to be his upstairs neighbor. She's an artist that spends most of her time in her apartment busily working away on commissions or other art projects that pique her interest.

Her clothes are relatively simple. Sometimes, there's a bit of paint on her shirt. Other times, the color of her pants change as well. It depends on the time of day.

Also, in all honestly, she's the main reason why Connor actually goes out and socializes.

She's about 5'7ft and roughly 29 years old.

Bea! One of my favorites out of the human cast. I'm hoping that her design will change a little bit as the story progresses.

Also, she's one of my favorite character's overall to write. She's probably the number one of the human cast, anyways. The other favorites have yet to be introduced.

With Bea now present, the main trio is almost complete.
