( teammate ):

It was reassuring to know that both of her teammates were trained fighters, at least. At the very least, if anything came up, they’d probably be able to handle it. She would just have to figure out how to use her weapon. Maybe weighing it down with rocks would work..? It was about the only thing she could think of. Maybe making it into a makeshift slingshot would work…

Still, she managed a small smile at Yang’s reassurance. “I’ll do my best,” she nodded. “I studied as much of the plant life as I could. That and if anyone gets hurt, I’ll at least be able to take care of it enough until we can get out of here.” Though she did wish she had taken the time to at least try to find an offensive way to use her magic..but that could come later, once she had access to her powers again. 

Tightening her grip on the backpack and leash, she nodded. “I’m ready.” She’d keep an eye out for any loose heavy rocks..something she could stuff into the backpack..though whether or not she’d have the upper body strength for swinging something like that around, well, she’d just have to hope that her habit of carrying several books at once had paid off. 

Edie also tried hard not to think about the noise of tiny, scurrying feet. That was the last thing she wanted to run into without a cat to make short work of them. “S-so, uh, sounds like you guys both came from pretty rough places..” Anything to keep her distracted from how much this place gave her the creeps.

          {♠} —; Nata could already tell this was going to be all sorts of fun with their team dynamics. Two hotheads and a reserved shy one. For some reason or another Edie reminded him of one of his previous teammates, and he couldn’t help but roll his eyes away before nodding along with the conversation going on.

          {♠} —; “Not sure what a huntress is where ya come from but if it means you’re anything good with a gun or something that might not be too useful in our situation. Mean you have pretty good survival instincts though I imagine.” he sighs, moving along with the group.

          {♠} —; “Yup. Life’s sure been tough on me before I guess.” Nata says, acknowledging Edie’s statement. “Nothing I haven’t been able to handle so far though. I’ll try not to get hurt and cause too much trouble or something. But if something strong comes our way don’t try to stop me from fighting it.” he always wants to fight. Nata cranes his neck to look at Yang.

          {♠} —; “Waddaya think we’ll be tackled with first?”

( rude binch ):

They could only smile while silently apologizing to the rest of their classmates. They would slap his head, but they also didn’t want to get beat up, or insulted in the middle of class. A bother that would be! Though they would desire anyone else other than this loud, angry toddler, they supposed they would have to put up with him. After all, it’d  be better for Kiretsu to think of this as a test, wherein dangerous situations, you’d have to work together with anyone who was around.

That’s right, they would have to babysit him for a bit. Just for this one class, and then they’d be free! Familiars and Other Magical Summons would be much more tolerable! They were an adult, an elder even, so they should be able to handle this! But that was short-lived, their relaxation, with a single flip of a switch.

Kiretsu flicked the other on the forehead, pushing the stack of papers towards the middle. They were never a relatively calm person, after all. They turned their chair to face the other, obviously looking angry.

“Look. You don’t wanna do it. I don’t either! School sucks, I get it. But that’s no reason to just leave me to do it all! As you said, this is partner work, so act like one and help me do them! The less you complain, the faster we get it done.”

          {♠} —; Touching his forehead in annoyance to the flick, Nata squinted at Kiretsu, shooting a glare before rubbing the spot. It didn’t hurt or anything, but Nata just wanted to properly illustrate how annoying it was. And people called him a hothead.

          {♠} —; “Don’t just flick someone on the forehead! What were ya raised in a fuckin’ barn or somethin’?!” Nata clicked his tongue, dramatically dragging himself across the desk and groaning loudly enough that he earned a few silences from his classmates.

          {♠} —; “I’m no good with this stuff! I didn’t learn shit like this when I grew up.” he said, turning away. “I mean I’m good with the practical—that garbage I’m a genius at. Writing and stuff on the other hand . . .” his voice drifted off, deep breaths coming in and out before he finally said it. “I’m self-taught. I never got properly educated with that sorta . . .stuff. . .”

( classmate ):

   Listening intently as he speaks, Blake tilts her head more towards him. “Yeah. It’s the same for me. I know how to hide in the shadows. I kinda decided to take this class more to improve but really its so basic stuff that I just find it rather boring” she states with a sigh. 

   “And..well its hard to explain. Fighting can be fun but mostly its just thrilling and exciting to defeat an opponent. That’s why one of my favorite classes is Magical Combat” she states with a smile.

          {♠} —; “Well whaddaya know, we’ve more in common than I thought.” then again it’s not like it was anything terribly important that they had in common. He can’t help but smile at her next sentiment, agreeing wholeheartedly with the statement he was presented with.

          {♠} —; “God fuckin’ bless! Fighting’s the best isn’t it? Whenever I find someone tough I can’t help but desire to crush them beneath my heel.” he said, drumming his desk with his fingers. “I wouldn’t mind a fight right now actually.”

( Edie ):

Anxiety had hit her like a brick the moment she’d seen her so-called weapon. It seemed like the rest of her teammates were pretty displeased too–but they looked more physically capable than she was. Immediately she had the feeling she was only going to be dead weight, only going to hold them back. If she’d at least had her magic, she’d be able to provide defense. Not to mention being cut off from her magic was a weird feeling, almost like she had to remember how to breathe again.

Alister was probably still in her room, peacefully snoozing away without a clue.

Still, her head drooped and she gripped the backpack tighter in her hands. “I’m Edie…” She dreaded to admit her shortcomings, but her teammates would certainly need to know. “I’m, um, I can’t….even with my magic, it’s defensive  in nature..” But it would still be more useful than the backpack, unless she put rocks in it and used it to hit things with…but even then, she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to keep something like that up.

“I’m good with plants..? I doubt there’s any here but..I should at least be able to find what’s safe and what isn’t, and what can be used for healing, if there are.” Casting a look around their surroundings, she doubted they’d run into any plants–unless it was a miracle. “I mean, I’ll try not to hold us back but…”

It was clear that she was once again frustrated with her lack of fighting ability.

          {♠} —; It was evident that between his teammates he was adept at adjusting to tough situations. Though he felt a twinge of annoyance at the useless attitude Edie carried, he knew at the very least if they ran into anything growing down here she could probably figure something out. If anything down here grew anyways.

          {♠} —; Clearing his ear with his pinky finger he’d nod his head, groaning slightly. He waved, calling some attention as he supposed it was his time to introduce himself to the group. He’d have to eventually anyways.

          {♠} —; “Name’s Nata. I’ve been trained to fight as a kid against all sorts of targets. I’m most adept at hiding my presence in order to sneak attack. Though my impact might be slightly weaker without my phase power.” 

          {♠} —; “I’m most adept at fightin’ with blades but this thing isn’t too bad I guess.” he flipped the frying pan in his hand and caught it once more. “What about you?” he asked, pointing at the leader.  “What’s yer specialty, huh?”

( add ):

As the blades spun, Dynamo fanned out in an alert manner. The tips of the crystals began to spark with electricity, letting out a threatening crackle. Kill? Ha. He’d like to see him try, Add would personally like to step on his face and teach him a lesson or two.  It seems like himself, the collar was something he didn’t like having looked at. Add took a step closer, hands left hand rested on his hip whilst the other hung by his side lazily.

“Organisation? I have no idea what you’re talking about. I work only for myself and no one else. I’m certain I’m not even from the same world as you. If you’re using the term inter-dimensional as in from another dimension, then yes. But as something specific? Then probably no. I’m just a human with the strength to travel through time and space. K’hahaha!”

He said these words in a cool tone, followed by his twisted laugh. “I’m really not in the mood to fight right now, though. So put down your weapon and I’ll put down mine.” 

          {♠} —; Working out the situation with a tad calmer of a mind, Nata sighed, continuing to glare in the man’s direction. He seemed a few years older, but not by much. By observation alone Nata figured the mechanism beside them was the alleged weapon they were talking about. He grimaced, biting his lower lip before resting his blades by his side.

          {♠} —; “I suppose . . . for now.” he mumbled underneath his breath. “Yer really human though?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at them. “Time and space powers . . . human? For sure?” he asked, desiring confirmation. “I know halfies who were able to do that.” and they weren’t pleasant to deal with at all. 

          {♠} —; “How long you been stuck in this hellhole then?”

          {♠} —; “Would ya quit haulin’ my ass off to these kinds of places?!”

          {♠} —; Quick to anger as always, Nata’s frustration leads him to kick at the ground aggressively. His hands reach up to drag fingers across his face in an aggravated manner. He groans, tossing the weight of the frying pan between each of his hands before quickly hitting the wall with it. Debris from the skulls came off and he could only mumble to himself in anger.

          {♠} —; “I ain’t even the god damn leader! Tch.”

( classmate ):

   To be honest this class was a class she easily excelled in. She had to say that it wasn’t one she found that interesting considering it was just so easy for her. Still be rather studious and all together a good student, she still took notes and listened intently to the professor as they lectured.

  It came as a rather surprised to Blake when she suddenly hears someone next to him ask her a question. She turns over to look at him only to find him he was sitting in a rather relaxed position. She sighs. “Nothing I didn’t already know. Why do you feel the same?” she asks him.

          {♠} —; He clicked his tongue. Craning his neck to look away he’d sit up properly. He nodded his head and scratched the back of his neck with his hand, circling the edge of his electronic collar with his finger in annoyance before sighing.

          {♠} —; “Yeah, yeah. Something like that.” he said. “I’ve grown up with this kind of thing all my life. Never had a break for it really.” it’s what he’s been trained to do. “It’s fine though I guess. It’s not like I can’t enjoy it or anything. Do you like fighting?”

( wanderer ):

  Kaito really is a wanderer. He likes to roam the halls in his off time. It’s the only way he could figure out this school’s puzzle. He was determined to solve it someway or another. However, with the ever-changing halls and floors it became rather difficult to maneuver through the school without falling or injuring himself. Still that didn’t deter him from trying to solve the mystery.

  He happens to be heading back to his dorm room when he suddenly hears someone start yelling at him. He looks at him and gives him a deadpanned stair. “Okay dude. Three things. One. Don’t yell at me, asshole. I didn’t do anything to you. Two. If I knew answers I’d already solved them but this school is not an easy puzzle to solve. Three. Even if i did know answers I wouldn’t even give you them freely. That’s now how I roll. Anyways what’s the big deal? You lost or something?”

          {♠} —; Figures that the first person he runs into also seems to be as sardonic as he is. He chucks his kukri at the ground with frustration, kicking at the floor before he grunted. The silence for the next bit was deafening before Nata finally calmed down enough to reply to this person. Even if he was an asshole he did choose to basically attack this person.

          {♠} —; “So even the people livin’ here don’t know anything about this place? That’s just fucking great.” he took in a deep breath. “This school seems like it’s living and less like it’s a god damn puzzle. I wanna wreck the place but that’d probably just get me in trouble huh?” he sighed. “I guess. I’m new here—I don’t even want to be here but even I can’t survive jumping off a floating island so I guess I’m stuck here.”

( unkown species ):

His summon to Hiraeth was so abrupt that he didn’t have the time to pack the materials he needed to upgrade Dynamo and continue his research. Maybe if he can figure out how to get back, then he’ll raid his lab and bring back all the things he could. However, that would have to wait until he had the time and merits. Continuing on with his adventure through the school and collecting data, Add paused as someone called out towards him. Upon his speech, the tracer smirked and turned his head to give the other a form of his attention. So this young man was smart enough to acknowledge he was strong. Add wouldn’t deny it, but after observing him, he looked strong too.

 "Of course I’m strong. I’m a man capable of distorting time and space with just the flick of my wrist. What about you, what are you?“

 If he was going to refer to Add like that, then he would do the same. Upon closer inspection, he took note of Nata’s choker. The smirk had shifted to a concentrated frown. What kind of technology was that? And why was he wearing it. Breaking his stare, he looked back up and stared into his eyes.

          {♠}  —; “Distorting time and space?” he smiled, twirling his blades in hand and tossing one up before catching it. Just like most inter-dimensional species could do—though this person didn’t quite look like a monster. “I’m a man who kills things that can do what you do.” he quipped back, catching the glimpse to his collar. In reflex he grabbed at it, defensively stepping back before he shot the albino a scrutinizing glare.

          {♠} —; “Tch—whatcha staring at?!” he spat out. “Why’re ya looking at this like that—you’re not from the organization are you?! I-if your capable of distortin’ space then you’re an inter-dimensional aren’t you?” encounters with Ash and Dust left a bad taste in his mouth, and if this person was like them then he didn’t want anything to do with them.

( partner ):

Coercion was something… unfamiliar, for the most part. They were familiar with lying, they do it in an everyday lifestyle. They thought it would be a breeze, a stroll in the park, and perhaps amusing as well. They were often told they were a good talker, so that’s what they figured… But it seems luck wasn’t on their side.

They glanced at their partner, internally screaming. The wolf boy, the always loud one… he was quite rambunctious as well. Kiretsu didn’t hate them per say but had a slight dislike for the other for their… vulgarness and noisiness. It couldn’t be helped, they thought. In their lifetime, they’ve met lots and lots of different people, so they could handle the blue-haired one. Probably.

Their glee was replaced with despair, as they stared at the towering pile of papers. Was this… how Coercion was supposed to be? A class of just… filling out papers? The statement they were given was just bizarre. Spirituality was useful for once. They clapped their hands together, ignoring their partner’s words.

“Oh Gods… give me the strength to do these papers.”

          {♠} —; Clicking his tongue with annoyance, Nata aggressively kicked at the desk, shifting the mound on top slightly, a few papers dropping. He earned a few glances from classmates, to which he responded with insults and rude hand gestures, telling them to promptly fuck off and to quit staring unless they wanted to earn a black eye.

          {♠} —; He’d whisper to himself on the ridiculousness of the work load. If this was the result of the freedom he sought out then what was the point? Shouldn’t kids be doing stuff that made them happy? Not . . . this garbage?

          {♠} —; “Gods I’m not doing this.” he said, promptly pushing the mound towards his partner. “What’s the point of partner work if they’re just going to do this?!” he inquired, kicking at the desk legs.

          {♠} —; “I ain’t good with this garbage.

          {♠} —; Arrival at Hiraeth didn’t take too well to Nata’s mental state. He had been tested and experimented on several times as a kid. New surroundings were created to try and break his mind, and this arrival caused him to be on edge. He stuck to hiding in the shadows, the map to his dorm room on his person, and the key strung to his neck — a makeshift necklace.

          {♠} —; “Man, this is fuckin’ disgusting.” he mumbled beneath his breath, reading the dorm room numbers. It seemed this school was going against him. Despite him moving to follow the numbers down, it seemed he’d been turnd around numerous times. “I fuckin’ hate puzzles and bullshit systems like this. It’s all useless.” he says.

          {♠} —; Noticing movement in the corner of his eye, he immediately descended from his previous perch on the wall, landing in front of the boy. He swung his Kukri in circles, pointing at the other person before him.

          {♠} —; “Hey! What the fuck is up with this place?! Give me some god damn answers!”

          {♠} —; Nata’s first instinct at Hiraeth would be to find out who was in charge of the establishment. He tailed teachers, and attempted many escapes only to be reprimanded immediately for his bad behavior. He isn’t exactly what you’d call a normal kid.

          {♠} —; Once again it’d seem of course, that this day’s trailing would come to no fruition. This sneaking teacher was doing nothing but just trying to get a drink. Medicine maybe? What bad luck. Nata sighed, scratching his head. He ought to return. Of course before he could take a step from his perch, he slipped, falling backwards and slamming onto the floor behind the teacher.

          {♠} —; “Fuck—!”

          {♠} —; As a Phase user, Nata was naturally able to detect certain effects around him. His time running undercover missions for UNION and as a Wolfdog for Vultures allowed him to encounter and familiarize with dimensional beings. They tore portals and wreaked havoc around the world. He wouldn’t imagine he could forget the power they exhumed—it excited him after all. The small fry were weak, yes, however the higher-up enemies. Astaroth, Ash, Dust? They were worth his time.

          {♠} —; Wandering the aisles of the school, the presence he felt was familiar. Not quite the same as a dimensional, but something akin to that. This vague feeling that something wasn’t right was enough for Nata to investigate. Turning the corner to follow the individual he’d speak up.

          {♠} —; “Hey. You look strong. What are you?”

          {♠} —; Coercion. A class specifically tailored to the purpose of lying, detecting lies, and learning how to use a silver tongue to snake a way out of situations. A skill that Nata would appreciate. Though he preferred fighting everyone and attacking at them with brute strength, he knew that he had to have other strengths to rely on.

          {♠} —; He was ready for this class. He knew that compared to charms that coercion would be much, much better and easily more entertaining. The students were told to work in pairs in order to get the assignment done easier, however the assignment wasn’t what he or any other student probably thought it was.

          {♠} —; A mound of paper was placed on each pair’s desk, obscuring their view of the teacher. Apparently they all had to have the proper aptitude and attitude and skill to learn in this class.

          {♠} —; “What the FUCK?”

          {♠} —; Stealth and camouflage. Those were Nata’s greatest strengths as part of the Wolfdog unit. His experiences to survive lead him to develop sneaky ways to attack people, but of course hew as never formally trained in this art. Everything was self-taught, and as he was practically forced to participate in this school, he had to at the very least adjust this lifestyle in order to keep up with the demand with his desire to gain strength. Thus, he enlisted in a class that would improve upon his strengths.

          {♠} —; He sat at the back, kicking his feet up on his table. Reluctant to believe however that this class would be of any actual use to him, he’d turn to the student closest to him. She looked like she’d been here far longer than he had been, and despite his asocial behaviors he knew that if he needed information it was better to just ask. 

          {♠} —; “Hey. You. Did this class ever actually teach you anything?”
