I’m Loubatas (he/him), an Occitan/Mediterranean artist based in France
I’m a self-taught digital artist, although I also like to experiment and sketch with traditional tools. My main subjects are, in no particular order, fanarts of whatever media I’m hyperfocusing on at the moment, animals & nature, myths & folklore, and my own narrative projects :
- Gamalaou is a short comic project (36 pages) based on a story my mother used to tell me & my brother when we were kids, with strong influences from Occitan culture & folklore. It is fully scripted and I’m currently working on the storyboard (18/36 ages done)
- Shepherd of the Night is a series of short illustrated stories retelling Breton folklore (& probably later Occitan) in a modern setting. No tag for it yet because it’s still in the brainstorming stage
- the Songs Project is a multi-stories narrative project I’ve been working on for almost 20 years (although a lot of the earlier material has been scrapped because nothing you write at 14 or 15 is really good). When I talk about my blorbos, I mean the ones from this project. Set in a fantasy world, with some sci-fi flavours in the later installments because it’s not a fucking static world
I do not currently have a personal website, although it’s a project that’s pretty high in my priorities. In the meanwhile, I have a carrd I keep updated regularly that you can check if you want to see where else you can find me :
