This year, we decided to do more frequent writing parties to encourage writers to keep working on their fic throughout the writing period. Each writing party will be 2 hours long, though of course you do not need to write the entire time if your schedule doesn’t permit it.

Though you are under no obligation to participate in any or all of the writing parties, this can be a great way to motivate yourself to write over the next five months. It will also provide an opportunity to both give and receive encouragement - and to have solidarity with your fellow writers as you all work on your fics simultaneously. 😊

i was tagged by @greenblueish because she likes to put me on blast, so here's the last line I've written as part of my writing for the @1daboficfest (yes i am late stop looking at me)

His smell, which had been discreet when their interactions hadn’t lasted more than a minute at a time time, was invading Harry’s senses like poison - dangerous, though not in the way of wasps, sharp and vibrant in warning; but in the way of wolfsbane, alluring and soft and deadly underneath it all.

“How often are you intimate?” Petra asks, peering up over the rim of her glasses as she taps away at her iPad. What she could be writing down, Louis doesn’t know.

“Intimate?” Louis hesitates, shifting on the settee nervously. Next to him, Harry doesn’t even blink as he absently toys with a leaf plant potted beside them.

She frowns, nails immediately clicking against the screen. Great. Now she’s judging Louis’ sex life. He can see the notes now.

“How often do you have sex?” She clarifies as if Louis doesn’t know what getting intimate with each other means. He knows what it means; he's just failed to realize that couples counseling meant discussing everything – including their sex life.

And lack thereof, of course.

Louis frowns. “Last month,” he says at the same time Harry answers, “last week.” Petra just raises an eyebrow, glancing between the couple curiously.

“Last week,” Harry repeats firmly, sparing a brief look at Louis before he’s stretching out comfortably and aiming his gaze at Petra. “He’s erasing it from his memory because I called him a slut and he threw a fit.”

Louis’ neck snaps to look at him, mouth gaping open.

Harry shrugs, extending his arm over the back of the couch. “Endearingly, though. It was endearing.”

“In what world is the word ‘slut’ meant to be endearing?” Louis asks, perplexed.

“See what I mean, Petra? Here he goes again,” Harry grumbles. “Something always has to be bothering you.”

Louis fish-mouths, twisting his body to completely face the man. “You called me a slut!”

“When you’re on your knees, gagging for my–” Harry pauses, glancing towards Petra and likely recalling she’s still in the room with them. He’s too good at this, Louis thinks. “Of course I’m going to call you a slut. Doesn’t mean I don’t love you any less.”

Louis swallows.

for the past few months i’ve unfortunately been reading and writing less, so to try to motivate and push myself back into reading and writing fics i’m doing this fic rec & recap thingy!! i’ve seen a lot of people on my dash do something similar and i thought it would be fun, although sadly the list is quite short :/

note: this one was AMAZING. it contained literally everything i want in a fic and was just so so good, i love dark harry who is a softie for louis and this ticked all the boxes for me, i couldn’t recommend this one more :)

They don’t talk about it. The way Harry deflects any and all questions about his past and Louis pretends he isn’t confused or hurt by it. The way Harry keeps a distance between them and Louis acts like he can’t see it creating a wall between them. The way Harry doesn’t always answer honestly and Louis goes along with it as if he can’t tell. They don’t talk about it.

Harry knows Louis feels like he doesn’t know him well enough, and it pains him. It pains him every time Louis gets that look on his face that’s a mixture of disappointment, frustration, and confusion. And sometimes, self-blame. It pains him because Louis is wrong.

Because even though there is a lot Louis doesn’t know about him, there is so much that he does. He knows what Harry is like at his most vulnerable: curled up on this bed with him in the dark where it’s safest. He knows Harry in a way no one else does.

Or the one where Harry, the deadliest member of the NYC assassins’ guild, is forced to face a seemingly impossible task in hopes of finally leaving the underground behind for good, but when ghosts from the past come back to haunt him, escaping the darkness becomes that much harder.

note: oh my god this was incredible, it was fluffy and angsty and action-packed in all the right places and a darker fic like this might not be for everyone but it was perfect for me (i love john wick so i was so excited to read this one!!)

With the blanket, he instantly felt warmer, but it backfired when his eyes began to droop again. Trying to keep his eyes open was impossible, and he was consciously aware of how long his blinks were becoming. They stay closed longer and longer until, eventually, they didn’t open again.
