i have this headcanon that, because richie is so Long™, he has really bad circulation in his hands and feet & just generally gets cold easily, so he likes to be cozy by wrapping himself in big scarves and blankets and things, and is always begging eddie to warm his hands up (half as a thinly veiled excuse to touch & half just him being really frickin cold). like he showed up to derry in just a leather jacket bc, god forgive him, he's an LA boy at heart and he's not used to seasons, but whenever he visits eddie in new york in the winter, he has to BUNDLE up or it's fully picture wrap for him

Stan’s peacefully reading a book about birds while Richie is being irritable- complaining loudly and joking that if Stan doesn’t get out of the hammock soon, he’s just going to climb in with him. Stan rolls his eyes, because there’s no way Richie would actually do that… right?

WRONG. Of course he would!

Richie climbs in without even hesitating, and Stan only manages about five seconds of half-hearted protests before Richie settles against him, his head resting on Stan’s chest, arms draped around him lazily. Stan could push him out… but he doesn’t.

They end up staying like that far longer than either expected. At some point (Stan isn’t even sure when) his fingers slip into Richie’s hair, gently carding through it. No one’s complaining as this is probably the quietest Richie’s been in months… ❤️‍🩹
