open a new window somewhere in the world.
Following on from your recent post about land spirits - what if the land you live on is indigenous land? I live in Australia and the aboriginal people have a cultural and sacred bond to the land. I feel that in communicating with the land spirits I would be infringing on a closed practice.
I’ve answered a similar ask before for an American and I am really running out of patience here. I literally don’t understand why you ask me, a European, rather than seeking out answers yourself and find ways yourself through research and experimentation. Some spirits will want nothing to do with you and some will like anywhere else. Know your place. What is so difficult in listening and relaying voices ? Indigenous people have been screaming atop their lungs to say that what needs doing is to advocate for giving the land back to them and promote the natives’ tribes’ sovereignity, but here you still sit with your white guilt whining like « I feel bad taking a walk outside ». Are your seriously telling me you can’t think of any way to work with the land you stand on without overstepping on closed cultures ?
Some of you want to be witches but you lack both the drive and the will, needing your hands held at every step, and to be spoonfed every bits of information. « What can I do if I live in the desert ? What can I do if I live on stolen land ? I want to do this and that but can’t find this and that and also I don’t have access to this and I still live with my parents and, and, and... » Lords below, y’all. If that is the extent of your commitment and all the dedication you can show then I’m telling you right now you may as well stop everything because all of you are fucked right from the start. And if it stings then prove me the fuck wrong, get off yourself, stop dicking around and do- I certainly don’t need you self-wallowing in my inbox. Your individual case is not that unique.
Can you indulge me please, given the recent pandemic why is it that artist or fanfic writers are slowing down their works? I ask because personally I believe this makes it a better opportunity to work faster, as something to distract from the gloomy reality occurring.
I'll indulge you, but I'm afraid you won't like my answer very much.
The reason authors and artists aren't working their asses off MORE is because this is a pandemic, not a vacation.
It's not 'extra free time' for everyone.
For many it's 'my grandfather just died of COVID' time.
For many, it's 'I got laid off and am desperately trying to look for a way not to get evicted' time.
For many, it's 'I'm isolated from my friends, family and other sources of inspiration, I'm at home alone trying to deal with the world at large collapsing' time.
It's time to go out and protest for their rights. It's time to fall into a depression because they can't pay for medicine, because they're worried about a loved one with an immunodeficiency, because they have to decide whether to pay full tuition for taking classes online, which isn't as easy to learn from and feels like a rip-off.
I feel like this needs to be reiterated - fanfiction and fanart USUALLY doesn't pay. It's a hobby. Most fanfic authors aren't armcandy to a wealthy millionaire, and they can't just ignore other important life necessities in order to keep updating their 50k coffeeshop AU. It's not a viable career, and it will not keep you afloat. And while yes, many use it as an escape, many also can't write when they aren't safe, secure and know where their next paycheck is coming from.
So I'm not very surprised many creators are taking time away. They have lives, loved ones, other responsibilities, and at least one of those three is very likely a clusterfuck right now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Be kind. Always assume everyone is doing their best. You never know what someone else might be going through.
Angie do you have any spells for having a good day?
I don't really have a specific spell but its more manifestation for me if that makes sense? I tell myself every morning ill have a good day and if something goes wrong I remind myself of it. depending on what kind of good day you want, you could charm a necklace or something to bring positivity your way.
Aura masterpost
This took forever but its done! This post includes the colors and correlations of an aura, a description of what they are, aswell as other small bits of information I’ve picked up over the years and how to start seeing them. If I’ve missed any colors-be sure to let me know! 💕
DESCRIBING THE AURA
All beings have what is called an aura. It is an energy field around a person/animal and sometimes thing, everything gives off vibration, which some people can feel, sense, or most commonly see as a color around a person or the thing. An aura is usually about 3 feet outwards from the subject, however auras have been known to expand up to 50 feet in most often survivors of a trauma. This probably comes from the subconscious need to protect oneself from the event. Commonly there are seven “layers” or different colored sections of an aura, where some people can see more then nine. A more experienced psychic will eventually be able to see all of these colors, however the most common to see first is the first layer of aura, the Etheric aura. Each layer has a higher vibration of the one beneath it. The etheric layer seems to be the most structured and solid, and the highest layer seems to come off as a gassy or oily looking mix of color, like fog.
Like all vibration our aura can be intercepted and mix with other peoples if they touch us, or express emotions towards us, if we’re emotionally attached to someone, etc. Peoples auras are known to turn pinkish shades if they’re in love. Expand if angry, retreat if sad. If there are sparks in the aura, the person is known to have divine protection, depending on the color-white sparks usually represent angelic interference. Before one dies or if one has a near death experience their aura can turn dead white. Sparkly white can also indicate someone about to become pregnant or someone who is pregnant. A weak, small or faint aura can represent someone who is sick spiritually or physically just as a strongly vivid aura can indicate a healthy person. If someone has an intricate idea, the aura around their head can sparkle or turn bright, (Like the cartoon lightbulbs on cartoon characters!)
LAYERS OF THE AURA
First layer-Etheric
-About one-quarter to two inches from the body. This has to do with the physical body and overall health of the person.
Second layer-Emotional
-One to three inches from the body. This color has to do with the overall emotions of the person.
Third layer-Mental
-Three to eight inches from the body. Associated with the thoughts and thinking process
Fourth layer-Astral
-One to one and a half feet from the body. The bridge between the physical and spiritual planes. We express here our relationships to others and the spiritual plane.
Fifth layer-The etheric template
-One and a half to two feet from the body. Here is how we manifest energy and our true personality.
Sixth layer-The Celestial layer
-Two to two and three quarters feet from the body. This is the layer where you will see the connection to the spiritual plane, and the relationship to the universe//God, universal love.
Seventh layer- Ketheric Template
-Two and a half to three feet from the body. The strongest layer of the aura. Here is our true spiritual self, our being’s color.
[Other layers are yet to be explored or have any pinned meanings]
SEEING THE AURA
Seeing an aura is easier then you would expect, especially if you are already used to spiritual topics and sensing energy, or meditate on a daily basis.
The first step is being relaxed, and being aware. Meditate for a few seconds, get in your “zone” for witches or workers, this is the place you go before you complete a spell. For newbies, this is just a calming zone, until you feel detached from the physical realm enough to start.
Normally, dim lighting works best, but its all about your awareness and preferences-the best place for myself and a few others i know was always a brightly lit grocery store. Wherever is right for you works! Also, dark backgrounds can warp what color the aura truly is,making it darker-make sure the background behind the person is light, preferably white, so you can see the aura in vivid, bright color.
Most people can see aura through clothes, but its obviously easier to see it on skin, and you wont have to worry about the color of clothes warping the aura.
For some people, its hard to see an aura straight on, and for others, you can view it better from the corner of your eye.
The forehead method:
Start by staring at the person’s forehead. Relax, and start slowly unfocusing your eyes. There should be a clearish color starting to form around the person like a shield, lining the person’s body. Remember not to look directly at the colors forming or the clear vibration yet-try not to move your eyes from the unfocused position either, be as still as possible, and the clear shield will start forming into a color.
This is the best way to start seeing past the etheric aura, the outer colors of the aura closest to the skin.
The straight-on method:
Take the person’s hand or arm, place it on the light background you’ve chosen. Now focus as close as you can to their skin, without looking directly at their skin. Like the forehead method, a clear surrounding should start to form right outside of the skin. Keep focused, and eventually you will see color.

Add Some Oomph to Your Spells with Magical Timing
Like herbs, oils, and crystals, you don’t need to work with magical timing for your spell to be successful. You can cast a spell at any time, no matter your intention, and get your desired results. However, working with the energy of the sun, moon, and days of the week can add an extra power boost to your magic.
Think of it this way: certain energies are dominant at certain times. Those energies are easier to connect with because they are closer at hand, so to speak, so you can bring them into your life and your spells more easily and in a more powerful way. That doesn’t mean you can’t call on other energies during these times — it just means that you may not connect to them quite so easily.
If you choose to work with magical timing in your spells, there are several yearly, monthly, weekly, and even daily cycles you can align your spells with.
The Cycle of the Sun: Solstices and Equinoxes
These are the turning points that mark the solar year, and are associated with the relationships between day and night, light and dark, summer and winter. Each solstice or equinox marks the end of one season and the beginning for the next. Because they are so rare and so potent, these days are a great time for your “big picture” spells or for spells that need a big power boost.
Winter Solstice. The winter solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, and falls between December 20 and December 23, depending on the year. In some pagan traditions the winter solstice, or Yule, marks the beginning of the new year — you may choose to set intentions for the coming year on this solstice. After the winter solstice, the nights start getting shorter and the days start getting longer — so spells related to healing and bringing things into the light are especially effective at this time of year. The winter solstice marks the end of the “dark half” of the year and beginning of the “light half” of the year; at this point, our focus turns from inward reflection to outward manifestation. You may choose to think of the time between the winter solstice and spring equinox as a “planning phase,” where you examine yourself and your desires, decide what you want to work on in the next year, and make plans for manifesting what you want.
Spring Equinox. An equinox occurs when the day and the night are exactly the same length, representing a perfect balance between light and dark. The spring equinox marks the beginning of spring and occurs between March 19 and March 22. The Christian holiday of Easter and the pagan holiday of Ostara are both related to the energy of this equinox. At this time of year, the natural world is coming back to life as winter begins to fade. Plants are beginning to grow, and baby animals are being born. This is a powerful time of year for fertility magic and any magic related to new beginnings. You may choose to think of the time between the spring equinox and the summer solstice as a “planting phase,” where you “plant the seed” of the things you want to manifest and begin doing the work to make it happen.
Summer Solstice. This solstice marks the longest day and shortest night of the year. It occurs between June 19 and June 23. As I am writing this post, we are coming up on the summer solstice (June 20, 2020). Life, fertility, and growth are at their peak during this time of year, which makes this solstice a perfect time for big manifestation spells. At the same time, this marks the end of the “light half” and beginning of the “dark half” of the year, so after the summer solstice our energy shifts from outward manifestation to inward contemplation. You may choose to think of the time between the summer solstice and fall equinox as the “harvest phase,” where you reap the results of your hard work and manifest your desires in the physical world.
Autumn Equinox. This is the other time of year when the day and night are perfectly balanced. The autumn equinox occurs between September 19 and September 23 and marks the beginning of autumn. This is traditionally the time of year when crops are harvested, and many pagan groups celebrate harvest festivals around this time. Nature is beginning to die or go into hibernation in preparation for the coming winter. This is an especially powerful time of year for shadow work or for magic related to endings and transitions. You may choose to think of the time between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice as the “reflection phase,” when you retreat from the outside world to rest, focus on yourself, and do your inner work and self-healing.
Important Note: This post lists dates for the solstices and equinoxes in the Northern hemisphere. In the Southern hemisphere, the seasons are reversed. If you live in the Southern hemisphere, you would observe the winter solstice in June, the spring equinox in September, the summer solstice in December, and the fall equinox in March.
The Cycle of the Moon: Lunar Phases
If you don’t have time to wait for the appropriate solstice or equinox, you can still connect with the cosmos in your magic. One of the biggest pros of the lunar cycle is that it happens roughly every month — so you never have to wait very long for the next full moon. The moon is also associated with magic and spirituality in several traditions, which makes it an especially powerful astral ally for witches.
New Moon. The new moon is when the moon is completely invisible in the night sky, and is the phase opposite the full moon. The new moon is a powerful time for shadow work (because it deals with things that are hidden) and for magic related to new beginnings.
Waxing Moon. The moon is waxing when it appears to be growing in the night sky; this is the phase between the new moon and full moon. This is a powerful time for any magic that deals with drawing something in, building something up, or strengthening something that already exists.
Full Moon. Many witches believe that the full moon is the most powerful time of month for any kind of magic. This is a good time to cast any spell that needs a serious power boost. The full moon is also an especially powerful time to release what no longer serves you or to work healing magic.
Waning Moon. The moon is waning when it appears to be shrinking in the night sky; this is the phase between the full moon and new moon. This is a powerful time for any magic that deals with sending something away, banishing negative energy, or bringing something to an end.
Dark Moon. The dark moon is the three day period immediately before the new moon. In some traditions, it is believed to be bad luck to cast spells during the dark moon. Other traditions hold that the dark moon is the best point in the lunar cycle for destructive magic, such as curses and hexes. Many modern witches don’t recognize the dark moon as a separate moon phase at all. I personally like to use the dark moon as a time for self reflection, and may focus on shadow work during this time.
Magical Correspondences for the Days of the Week
The days of the week also have their own unique magical energies, and each day is linked to a certain planet and to certain deities.
Sunday. Sunday is, of course, connected to the Sun and solar deities. Sunday is the best day of the week for any manifestation magic that needs an extra boost. Its energy is also associated with healing, personal growth, power, and success.
Monday. Monday is associated with the Moon and lunar deities. Monday is a quiet, introspective day, and can feel very ethereal. It’s the best day for magic related to intuition, nurturing, and shadow work.
Tuesday. Tuesday is associated with Mars and with gods and goddesses of war and action. (It is named for the Norse/Germanic god Tyr/Tiw.) Tuesday is a very “active” day, and is good for magic related to action, activism, victory, or finding courage.
Wednesday. Wednesday is associated with Mercury and with gods and goddesses of wisdom, learning, and communication. (It is named for the Norse/Germanic god Odin/Wodan.) Wednesday is all about mental activity. It’s the best day of the week for magic related to thought, travel, communication (written, spoken, or digital), and learning/study.
Thursday. Thursday is associated with Jupiter and with gods and goddesses of prosperity, wealth, and protection. (It is named after the Norse/Germanic god Thor.) Thursday, like Jupiter in astrology, is all about outward expansion. It’s the best day of the week for magic related to career, prosperity, and wealth.
Friday. Friday is associated with Venus and with gods and goddesses of love, fertility, and sensuality. (It is named after the Norse goddess Freyja, or perhaps the goddess Frigg.) The energy of Friday is fun, lighthearted, and sexy. It’s the best day of the week for magic related to love, beauty, and sex/sexuality.
Saturday. Saturday is associated with Saturn and with time and wisdom. (The day and the planet are both named after the Roman god Saturn.) Saturday is practical and wise, but it does have a little bit of a dark side. It’s the best day of the week for magic related to banishing and protection.
Magical Times of Day
Okay, so you’d like to start working with magical timing, but what about emergency magic and last-minute spells? What if you don’t have time to wait for the next full moon, or even the next Sunday? You can still align your spell with magical timing! There are several moments of power each day, and each has its own magical associations.
Sunrise. Sunrise is, of course, the birth of the new day. This makes it the perfect time for spells related to new beginnings or expanded possibilities.
Noon. This is the peak or high point of the day. This is a powerful time for healing magic.
Sunset. Sunset is the end of the day, and forms a gateway between light and dark. This is a great time for spells related to accepting endings, releasing that which does not serve, and moving on from the past.
Midnight. If noon is the peak of the day, then midnight is the peak of the night. Midnight has a very ethereal, transformational energy. Like with the full moon, some witches believe that any spell will be more powerful if cast at midnight. This is a powerful time for both banishing and attraction magic.

how to deal with a witchy burnout
most of us have been there. we lose our touch with the craft and don’t feel like doing much. we feel too tired and exhausted to put effort in it and sometimes we feels like there’s no point.
here are some tips on how to get out of this sticky situation! 🌙
drink tea ✨
yes, you heard me! drinking teas with specific herbs (like chamomile for sleep, lavender for anxiety, etc.) will help you get in tune with herbal magick. you can also stir your tea clockwise to bring forward something (like good energy or calmness) or add a sigil on the bottom with some honey (doesn’t have to be perfect). 🍵✨🌸
nature walk ✨
get in tune with those energies outside! i always find a walk on the grass helps pick up my mood (especially barefoot!!). envision the energies from the earth flowing into your body 🌱🌎🍃
witchy movie ✨
sometimes, we just need a little inspo to bring us back to our craft. watching witchy movies can bring back that spark into us! some great movies i recommend are:
the craft
hocus pocus
the love witch
practical magic
charmed (a show)
carrie
the vampire diaries (a show)
tarot ✨
start off with one card if more than that feels like it would tire you. it’s ok! you can do one in the morning by asking a simple question like “what should i focus on today?” 🔮✨💜
food ✨
incorporate some magick into the food you eat! this isn’t hard at all, especially since we all eat food everyday. simply add an intent to an herb or spice and then add it into your food. for example, add cinnamon onto your oatmeal, with your intent being that you will have abundance 🥐🍦🍩
songs ✨
songs are great to get you back into magick! listen to pagan music, celtic songs, or just look up “witchcraft songs,” “wiccan songs,” or “pagan songs” on spotify🌛🤍🌜
gratitude ✨
this one’s real simple! when you wake up, thank the universe that you got to live to see another day. you can even journal it. breathe in the air and think of how grateful you are that you’re able to do that. soak in the sun’s rays and feel the heat. 🌞🌼💛
final words...
it’s ok to take breaks! nothing wrong with that. it’s human. appreciate yourself as a person. remember, you are magickal and divine no matter how many burnouts you have. burnouts happen to nearly everyone and it’s completely normal! 🍄🐥🌈
sendin good vibez 💜
Thanks for all the support.

Herbs & Their Uses: Glamour & Attraction Herbs
Cardamom Seed💧
This is like the spark to start a raging fire within someone. Cardamom seed is very sexy and spicy in all love works.
Catnip🌾
Catnip is a natural attractant, popular in Lesbian love works alongside lavender.
Cherry Bark🌲
Cherry bark can be used to make a lover out of someone who is married. Whether it is your spouse or another’s.
Cinnamon🍂
All around powerful sex and attractant spice. Use in cooking to influence passion, sexuality, and luck. Also good for money works. Attracts all things.
Coriander🍂
Attracts a fiery but loyal lover. Devotional men and women can be captured with coriander.
Cubeb Berries🍇
Spicy spicy spicy. Passion in both bed and heart come from works involving cubeb berries.
Damiana🌿
A very famous sex herb used in South American and Afro Caribbean traditions. Buy it as a loose herb and use it to dress anointed candles for love works.
Dill Seed💧
In glamour works, charms, or pouches Dill seed adds a powerful sense of irresistibility so long as you hold the right amount of confidence.
Gentian Root🌿
A famous love root used for all love both hetero and homo.
Ginger Root🌿
Spices up yourself or a client’s sex life. Add it to a doll stuffed with Spanish moss, damiana, and cardamom seed and place it under your bed for some fun. Smoke the doll every Friday with dragon’s blood.
Juniper Berries🍇
The liquor of love works. This one lowers inhibitions and enhances sexual activity and urges. Feed to your lover alongside Figs for fertility before trying for kids.
Lemon Mint🍃
Grow it in the southeast of your property. Pick it and keep a leaf on you until it dries and replace it until you find a new lover. In love works this herb attracts new lovers as well.
Lotus Root🌿
This one is used for both love and protection. I loved this Root in high school it’s a good way to deflect pettiness in young love.
Lovage Root🌿
A very Hetero herb. Used to attract one of the opposite sex to you. Tie your hair to it and sneak onto the person you wish to have. if it crosses the threshold of their home on their person - They’re yours. (Until they find the charm.)
Patchouli Leaf🍃
Burn to attract money and love. Good herb for grandiose glamours and luxury works. Also smells really nice.
Poppy Seed💧
Adds confusion to glamours. Not all glamours are about looking pretty, some of them are meant just to keep the mystery intact.
Orris Root (Queen Elizabeth Root)🌿
Attracts a man to a woman. Not good for Homo male love works. Very common herb for lover works.
Rose Petals or Buds🌹
Buds are used for new love to grow or old love to settle. Petals are used to promote love in general. Add the petals to a bath of sugar and honey to attract love and stuff the buds into a doll baby alongside raspberry leave and rue. Place the doll on its own altar and light pink candles on Friday for it. If a lover comes to you - do not let them find the doll. If that lover leaves you. Burn it.
Safflower Petals🍃
Daddy Petals - oop I mean safflower Petals are famous amongst gay men. Use them to attract a dominant man into your life. Before you go out grab three pinches - one to rub behind each ear - one to rub under each pit - one to rub on the bridge of your privates and your bum. Burn them on charcoal and smoke your body. This will help you get a dom gay man.
Senna Leaf🍃
Senna Leaf? More like senpai Leaf. Senna leaves are used to get the attention of someone who doesn’t notice you. Put it in a pouch or locket and wear to use as a glamour charm.
Violet Leaf🍃
Violet Leaf is used for attracting both new and old lovers. Good in reconciliation works if your ex has lost their love for you.
New Witch: How do I meditate?
Bitter Experienced Witch: Hell if I know!
bruh ive been practicing for like 6 years and im STILL tryna find out how
Right!? Meditation is a journey not a destination. Am I meditating or is it a nap?
My best advice, from both like a quarter century trying to witch and spending a lot of time in therapy?
Stop trying so hard. Which is a bitch of a thing to say I know, but hang with me.
We have this really weird notion in our head that meditation looks like sitting silent in a dark room doing nothing and thinking nothing, and that’s… that’s not accurate?
Meditation is just spending quality time with yourself. It’s hanging out with your best friend on a nice summer day or chilling in a basement doing absolutely nothing except whatever you feel like.
Except your best friend is you.
It’s sitting in your favourite chair knitting. It’s writing in your diary. It’s going for a long but not strenuous walk. It’s dancing to your favourite song. It’s skipping rocks in a pond. It’s playing tetris. It’s stimming. It’s reciting your favourite prayer/poem sixteen times. It’s brushing and replaiting your hair. It’s sweeping the floor, or doing the dishes, or washing windows, or polishing the good wood furniture. It’s giving yourself a pedicure. It’s setting the alarm ten minutes early so you can drink coffee staring out the window at the sunrise before anyone else wakes up. It’s a bath, at midnight, with only a candle. (And you’re starting to be, “wait J some of these sound like self-care not meditation, right?” But *why* do these things care for your self? What are you *actually* accomplishing when you do them? What’s your frame of mind?)
It’s not zoning out, it’s being intentional, but you’re gonna also zone out sometimes that that’s fine. You can’t fail at meditating, anymore than you fail at laundry just because there’s always more.
It’s whatever lets you just exist with yourself, for two seconds, no judgment. And maybe that *is* sitting in a dark room staring at a candle for five minutes. That’s certainly one of my favourite ones. But if that makes you more unsettled more dissociated more scattered, that’s *okay*, don’t do that. (And it *can* and *nobody* warns you about that. The wrong kind of meditation for you can make you worse not better. Listen to your body, if you hate something you’re almost always right to.)
You’re trying to get yourself into a place where you feel your feet and you exist behind your eyes. You’re trying to just let yourself be, to take the thoughts you have as they come, to take the body you have as it is, to take the moment for what it is. If you can’t do that sitting still *that is valid*. That’s why dancing is the one constant in all paths of witchcraft. That’s why singing and chanting and choreographed movements are part of pretty much all spiritual practices.
It’s not a test, there’s no meditation police who will come yell at you if you’re not completely silent and still.
Beautiful advice :)
As a low East Tennessee hick I never understood meditation and always fell asleep. But this 👆 THIS is what I turned to naturally. Sometimes you gotta get further away from people and just walk an old dirt road to get “right with the Lord” as nana would say, and especially right with yourself. You gotta let your spirit breath and all our souls breath in different ways.
