"And I have Oceanfront property in Saffron City." Brock shot back.

James crossed his arms, “I could move on any time I want to. But I work for Team Rocket.”
"Using your job as an excuse?"
"James, you know that I cannot just believe that Pikachu is your specific mission. I'm sure that you're supposed to be doing something else and just trying to catch Pikachu on the side." Brock proclaimed.
There is just no way that Brock could be convinced that Pikachu was James' only mission. There just had to be something more?

"I’m not really into battling anymore…"
"But I’ll do it, for old time’s sake. One-on-one?"
The purple coloured darts dashed towards Pikachu with frightening velocity smashing upon impact, as a cloud of dust covered his partner. While not entirely worried, Ash, eyed the small cloud with wariness as jolts of electricity started to seep through the clouds as a ball of energy tore thrown it and hurtled towards Croagunk. A smirk of victory passed on his lips. Knowing that the attack at least manage to tear through at the right moment. “Pikachu follow up electro ball with steel tail!”
"So that's your plan..."
"Croagunk, counter Electro Ball with Poison Jab and then hit Iron Tail with Brick Break!"
He knew that the Poison Jab would knock away the Electro Ball, but Brick Break and Iron Tail would decide differently.
"Brock, I wish to have a battle with you. A proper one. Please."
"I’m not really into battling anymore…"
"But I’ll do it, for old time’s sake. One-on-one?"
His eyes narrowed observing as the attack grew closer towards Pikachu, shaking his head rather disappointed. “Pikachu dodge and then retaliate with Electro Ball!”
Pikachu’s eyes flashed, hearing the command, zipping past the attack and launching into the air, preparing the attack charging up the electricity to his tail as a ball began to form.
Brock somewhat expected this, but not fully.
"Croagunk, counter with Poison Sting!"
Croagunk didn't like that Pikachu dodged his attack, so he listened and launched the poison darts at his opponent.
"Brock, I wish to have a battle with you. A proper one. Please."
"I’m not really into battling anymore…"
"But I’ll do it, for old time’s sake. One-on-one?"
"We’re you honestly expecting any differently, Brock?" The choice of Brock’s hadn’t really come off as a surprise, given how close the poison/fighting type and his old friend was. His lips curled. "Sounds fine to me. I’ll let you go and have the first move the, Brock."
"In that case..."
"Croagunk, Brick Break!" Brock ordered.
"Croa" the poison frog said as it attacked the electric mouse.

A slight smirk appeared on his face. “Let’s make it interesting them, using type advantages is boring as well,” Ash commented, folding his arms with a smirk on his face. “But I think you already know which Pokémon I’m using. Pikachu!”
His partner leaped from his shoulder, letting out a ‘Pikapi’ with much enthusiasm and energy, eyeing Brock with happiness but also competitive nature; ready to battle. “We’ve grown over the years Brock, don’t you dare underestimate us.”
"Pikachu, eh?"
"In that case, I'll call out my main partner as well. Go, Croagunk!" he said calling out the poison frog Pokemon.
"Croa..." it said, ready for battle.
"I know I could go with type advantage, but where's the fun in that? So let's just use partners for this battle." Brock offered.
"Brock, I wish to have a battle with you. A proper one. Please."
"I’m not really into battling anymore…"
"But I’ll do it, for old time’s sake. One-on-one?"
"That suits me just fine. I bet you haven’t rushed though, knowing you."
"Alright Ash, call out your Pokemon." Brock said, waiting on his old friend to make a move.
