DAFFODILLE FLAME WAS CROUCHED OVER THE GRAVESTONE, HER ENTIRE BODY SHIVERING. She couldn’t believe that she almost forgot about the anniversary of her husband’s death. It was her children who had reminded her when a letter from them arrived along with a card. If it wasn’t for her children (who were at boarding school), she probably wouldn’t have remembered and a sense of guilt filled her. How could she have been so reckless?

“I’m so sorry Tomas,” she breathed softly, running a shaking hand over the headstone. He was buried near his parents, something that she had insisted upon. Daffodille had seen his cousin by the entrance of the graveyard, who had just paid her respect. “I miss you, you know? It’s... it’s as if you’re still here... I know you’re not but I still feel,” she trailed off to cover her mouth as a sob escaped. How she wished she could have prevented this.

ALLEN WEASLEY KNEW THAT HE WAS LATE AND HE WASN’T SURE HOW TO EXPLAIN IT. Of course, he wasn’t at fault but he couldn’t exactly explain that a dragon had dug into their time. Pesticide, as he had called her, had somewhat been fixated on Allen ever since she came to the ranch and he had stupidity fell for that. His family often pointed out how he preferred the dragons to humans but that couldn’t have been true as he had many crushes and relationships over the years. One of them being that of Arthur Black, a thing he couldn’t remember how they had started and if they were even a thing right now. Perhaps it was due to his awkwardness that meant things hadn’t been made clear? Allen couldn’t be so certain.

It was that uncertainty that inhabited him whenever he went home to his godson and best friend. The two of them often questioned this relationship and he always felt targeted for not exactly knowing. Perhaps he should bring this up during their meeting and see what happens? Even as he thought that, Allen felt a thrill of anxiety creep up his neck and he knew that he couldn’t go through with it. That had been the problem from the very beginning. Sucking in a deep breath, he pushed open the door to the Three Broomsticks and stepped inside.

"Don't worry, I won't tell her you're seeing others behind her back." He smiled, shooting over a bit so that Allen could sit at the booth beside him if he wanted to. Otherwise, the space across from him was also open.

"And... It really has been quite some time, hasn't it? God... A few years, perhaps?" Spotty contact, he wasn't really sure if he meant through mail, or in person, but either way, it felt like forever and also no time at all.

“I’d appreciate that,” he chuckled softly. “Female dragons can become quite nasty when possessive.” Allen squeezed in beside Arthur, needing a rest for now. At least he wasn’t covered in soot or anything. Dragons were known to barbque people if one wasn’t too careful.

“Years? I thought it was months.” There again, Allen’s concept of time warped when he was away at the ranch in Romania. It was something that his godson was very happy to point out. It couldn’t have been true, he often countered but a part of him agreed.

Arthur nodded. "It was before my son was born so about two years ago now? At least...?" He paused and looked at Allen.

“Two years,” he couldn’t believe that. Allen needed to keep his dates written down or something. He was so badly organised. When Arthur said he had a child, Allen looked at him with an unreadable expression, before settling on a small smile.

“I see. How are you finding fatherhood? Is it as bad as I told you?” Allen remembered being constantly exhausted when Felix was a baby. His godson was now a teenager and was a bit of terror way. If it weren’t for Melora or the dogs, he would have ripped his hair out by now.

"it's uh... It was unexpected and it's hard. It's really hard." He admitted. "Lots of things I wasn't prepared for, that's for sure." it would have to be something to discuss at a later time, it wasn't really a drinks with old friends sort of talk.

“Well, I’m here if you ever need anything okay?” Allen placed his hand over the other male’s, giving it a gentle squeeze. He truly meant it and he hoped that Arthur would be comforted by that.

“Ah, Felix is now on the terrible teen stage and is staying over at Mel’s as I apparently don’t see him all the time. I write to him everyday though and was told by his godmother that he is experiencing the first seeds of romance. A girl at school apparently.” Allen wasn’t sure how to feel about that. He often remembered a quiet boy who always stuck by his dogs than mingle with others. “Other than that, he seems to be doing well. His school grades are always great too.”

At the age of thirteen she started to court Sirius Black which lasted for about a year or so, and was disgusted by Severus Snape’s behaviour towards Lily. Since it was revealed that James and Lily’s son was a target to Lord Voldemort, Daffodille and her family also went away and she made it clear to the Order that it would not do Harry to be with them.

MELORA DELROSE MADE A POINT OF NOT USING HER MAGIC EVERY TIME SHE DID SOMETHING SO SIMPLE. It was part of the experience and proving that she was good at her job, no matter what other people told her. Muggles didn’t relay on magic and these days had mobile phones to aid them with certain things. She couldn’t use any sort of technology as it affected her magic and that was something she could live with. If only she hadn’t brought a tent with foreign instructions. English or not, Melora was having difficulty to understand it.

“Pole A attaches to C or was it D,” she muttered to herself, voice shaking slightly as her patience was running out. She didn’t want to use her wand, no matter how frustrated she was beginning to get. This tent was meant to be easy for a children to ensemble and, yet, here she was trying not to tangle herself. Again. The blonde had cooked and even cleaned without magic before so why should a tent be any different?

Kneeling down, she picked up another pole and squinted her eyes to look at the marking on it. It was not the pole that she needed so she tossed it aside and attempted to find the next one. No matter how hard it was, Melora was stubborn and would finish this one way or another.

So, when his new boyfriend Allen came down with a cold, he panicked, and drank the cure himself, thinking it would protect him from catching the terrible, horrendous cold that Allen was bedridden with.

Allen wasn’t good at being sick, in fact he was willing himself to climb out of bed and get to work. It was the sheer pain that had stopped him and, as he coughed into a handkerchief, he pawed at the bedside table. “Where…” Another left his lips and glanced over to the bedroom door. “R… Red, what hap… happened to the pepper up? Thought… thought we had some at hand.” Allen shuddered in pain as he sneezed, nearly missing the handkerchief. His coordination was all over the place and he didn’t like that one bit.

He now felt guilty for taking the last one. “But, the pepper-up potion also prevents you from catching a cold, right? He would noticeably stay where he was until  Allen would tell him that yes, the pepper-up potion prevented a cold.

The moon shone brightly, full against the night sky. Pinpricked with stars to light her way. What she could see of them anyway in through the windows of the old building. Onyx had thought she was alone. She had been trying to summon the same demon for hours with no response. She had to try harder....

He would have answers for her. He had to.

She reinforced her chalk pentagram on the floor, a few candles flickering as she added together several ingredients into a brass bowl again.

Latin words fell from her lips with both reverance and fear, longong as it were, as a silver blade came up, reopening a freshly dried wound on her palm. She hissed at the pain, but was quick to keep going, though this time after forcefully squeezing several drops into the bowl, she bagan rub her hand over her exposed neck and arms. Blood would draw him in. She was so lost in her thoughts, her chanting, she never heard the footsteps behind her.

There were many things that she could have been doing this very evening but Melora wasn’t known for being centred on being good. It wasn’t like she had any responsibilities that night, what with her godson being at her friend’s family home for the week which meant she could explore. Melora was always fascinated by abandoned buildings, more so than her love of the non-magical community. The abandoned buildings were enchanting in her point of view and held many secrets that had yet to be discovered.

That was why she had found herself inside of a particular building at three o’clock in the morning. She would later say that it was a gut feeling that led her there but was more coincidence than feeling a certain tug. Still, the blonde hadn’t expected to find that the building wasn’t completely empty. Nor that the occupant was saying something that she couldn’t entirely understand. It had to be Latin, she decided trying to decipher the words but her memory was awfully patchy. Bracing herself, she continued forward suspecting something off with the chanting.

Melora moved in front of the girl and a soft gasp left her lips. Blood. Blood had made her shocked and knelt down before her, not caring for personal space. “What... what the blazes are you doing?” Whatever it was, had to be wrong in Melora’s view and she hoped to make this girl see some sense in that.

Arthur sat in a booth against the wall near the back, staring almost blankly at the lighting fixture above him. He hadn't been there too long, but he was relieved to see that he had been the earlier of the two of them running late. His son, bless him although he had internally done the opposite, had spilled breakfast on his shirt which required a change. Of course, after the fact he remembered he could have just magicked it away. But that would be too simple. Especially when he found himself uncharacteristically flustered to make it to his engagement. How long had it been anyway?

He felt a twist in his stomach whenever he thought too long about Allen. At least, too long about what they had been, were... Which was it anyway?

He broke himself out of another stress cycle by having the alert charm above him flicker blue and pink in rapid succession several times before vanishing, letting him know how company had arrived.

Allen loitered by the entrance, glancing around the bar. He nodded at some of the patrons, having recognised them from his travels. Sometimes the crowds always made him even more aware of his behaviour and hoped he wouldn’t make a show of things. He wasn’t great in crowds when it came to romantic encounters. It may have been the thought of judgement or the fear of being rejected. Whatever it was, he had to tell himself that nothing bad would happen and that it was all in his head. After a moment of composing himself, he strolled the bar taking in every detail he came across. Was Madam Rosmerta’s always so frizzy and was that a minor attempting to buy a Fire Whiskey? Wonders that never seemed to surprise him and yet it amazed him all the same.

Of Allen had spotted Arthur when he had arrived. How could he miss the other man? The person who was always on his mind and it sent blood to cheeks, raising the tempature in his face. He could feel a rattle in his chest as he made his approach, banging his shoulder against other patrons. Every time he felt the harsh brush, he would mumble an apologise, his eyes still fixed upon Arthur. As soon as he was standing before the other male, a shiver of realisation flooded through him. This was actually happening. Again. Allen had to remind himself that they had met up before and debated that ongoing debate; whether or not they were together. It made his mouth go dry at the mere idea of it.

“H... hey. I hope you didn’t have to wait long,” he began in a stammer, the cogs already whirling around his brain, afraid of what might happen. “Pes... one of the dragons didn’t want me to leave her... the females can get a bit touchy like that.”

A small smirk pulled at the corner of his lips at that. "Mating season, is it? Well, lucky you being a dragon looker then." God, could he not hide behind a smart remark for once? Always on the defensive when it came to any kind of feelings.

He shouldn't have to be with Allen though. He didn't in the past so why now?

Allen hesitated when Arthur spoke. His face felt hot as he managed his own smile, slowly taking a seat in the booth. “Something like that... the dragon seems to be obsessed with me for some reason. A dragon looker though? Pretty sure the dragons would agree with you.”

Even as he said that, he could feel the twitch of his heart within his chest. How long had he known Arthur now? He should feel comfortable but he still felt like he would do something to mess it up.

Wondering if animals could sense how good a person was, if he wasn't as good as he thought he was. He worried his family blood was stronger than his current will.

“Ah, you’ll get it I’m sure. You just need to relax around them and you should fit in.” Although, that being said, Allen knew how dragons were. He had days where the creatures weren’t warm or friendly. This was probably what his parents warned him against but he wasn’t one to back down.

“Ah, don’t let her know that okay? I’ve got a reputation to uphold and all that,” he smiled softly, feeling himself relax. He supposed that discussing his favourite creatures would do that. It was his obsession, after all. “And you too. I wonder, how long has it been since we last saw one another?”

One of them being that of Arthur Black, a thing he couldn’t remember how they had started and if they were even a thing right now. Perhaps it was due to his awkwardness that meant things hadn’t been made clear? Allen couldn’t be so certain.

It was that uncertainty that inhabited him whenever he went home to his godson and best friend. The two of them often questioned this relationship and he always felt targeted for not exactly knowing. Perhaps he should bring this up during their meeting and see what happens? Even as he thought that, Allen felt a thrill of anxiety creep up his neck and he knew that he couldn’t go through with it. That had been the problem from the very beginning. Sucking in a deep breath, he pushed open the door to the Three Broomsticks and stepped inside.
