can you tell that I changed my mind about the plot halfway through writing this 💔
If you were to ask Mina how she had managed to get herself into this kind of situation, she wouldn't have an answer for you. Because Sana was tempting, so very tempting. But she knew how to restrain herself. How to push away her countless thoughts that seemed to never end. Now she was stuck on the living room floor with the same exact girl that she tried not to worry about, watching how slowly she approached Mina, on her hands and knees in nothing but a small, lacey crop top and pajama shorts.
"You're avoiding me." A frown is visible on Sana's full lips as she speaks, and Mina doesn't know how to feel.
"I'm not," She shakes her head, sitting on her knees, adjusting her mini-skirt. As she had just gotten back from her evening class and was stuck in her morning clothes. Despite her distaste for outside clothing inside of the dorms. Either way, Sana wants to believe her, and a part of her does. Because Mina wasn't one to lie, especially not to her. But something about her behavior felt dishonest, and she wouldn't leave her alone until they had spoken about it properly.
"And now you're lying to me. What's up with you? Seriously." Sana tries not to get too upset, tries not to lash out and turn this into an argument that didn't need to happen, but it's hard not to when your roommate has been acting as if you were non-existent for the past week, maybe even longer.
"You're never like this with me," She stops halfway, adjusting her position and sitting down on her knees, both of her hands touching the soft carpet on either side of her legs.
Her actions didn't go unnoticed by Mina. Her position, the slight pout on her lips, the look in her eyes, as if she were a puppy that forgot how to breathe when Mina wasn't around. All of it. She saw all of it, and it made her want to pounce on Sana and fix things in a way that she knew that they would both love. But that wouldn't be as graceful and elegant as she was known to be.
"So I've been a little distant. I didn't think that you would care much. I've just been.. busy," A half-assed excuse. Which Mina knew was wrong, of course. But how could she go about explaining her feelings, which were awfully complicated, to the girl in front of her. "But I'm not avoiding you."
Despite her attempt at clearing the air, she doesn't get an answer from the other girl, and it worries her. She thought about how she should have reconsidered sitting Sana down and talking to her prior to this, and now Mina wondered if she should just get it over with now. If things went well, maybe then she would get what she's been craving, and the thought alone was enough to get her mind racing again.
"..It's not just 'a little' distant though. You can't even be within a few feet of me anymore. Don't you think it's harsh?" Which it was. At least in Sana's opinion. She knew that it might have been a little strange to get so tense over this, because they were only friends. Barely even that. It seemed as if they only tolerated one another because they would be sharing a dorm for a short while. But they had gotten close enough to enjoy each other's presence, and that was more than okay for now.
"Maybe talk to me about any issues that you have instead of being this way,"
"I don't have any issues with you. Stop making it sound like I do."
"Then stop acting like you do."
A back and forth that seemed to last forever. Mina's reasoning was repetitive, and Sana couldn't handle listening to it for much longer. But this was exactly what both of them had been trying to avoid. An argument, confrontation, both.
"You should know that I'm not mad," It's a lot to ask of Sana. Expecting her to be able to read Mina's mind and detect her feelings, she's aware of that. But she's stressing herself out and can't think of much else to say. "I can't explain it right now."
What came next was unexpected, unnecessary, a little bit of everything. But Mina felt the need to initiate just a little bit of contact, and she knew that it would ease Sana's mind. Because unlike Mina, her emotions were much more detectable.
"But I'm sorry," She leaned forward on her hands, her lips touching the side of Sana's face just barely, placing a light kiss there. "I promise that I'll talk to you about it. Just not now."
