enlightened minds would love a panville 'lady chatterly's lover' ...
el mĂłn neix en cada besada
i've spent an objectively insane amount of time thinking about pansy parkinson and think no song better encapsulates her than this one
she's a girl who's made the wrong decision over and over. had them thrust upon her. had nothing work out the way she'd hoped.
how desperate do you think you'd feel for the next choice you make to be the right one?
Cruel Summer by alpenglow
Summary: Alone for a summer in Barcelona to sweat out a scandal, Pansy finds herself unable to stop thinking about Neville Longbottom. Or his responsiveness to her.

He was a nice man. Good. Helpful. She came up behind him but did not touch. Her breath ghosted over his arm. He straightened in front of her, like he wanted to impress. Pansy didnât know what she wanted. If she wanted anything at all.

characters who believe that they are inherently unlovable đĽđĽđĽ
thereâs no variation on this trope that isnât absolutely peak. âim unlovable but i desire that connection so ill let myself be used insteadâ? peak. âim unlovable so ill drive everyone awayâ is automatically peak however you play it. âi am an unlovable thing so i will become a new person who isnâtâ? peak beyond belief!!! i love characters đĽ°
Cruel Summer (WIP)
by alpenglow
pairing: Pansy Parkinson/Neville Longbottom
rating: e
summary/excerpt:
"How long have you been in the city, then?â Pansy asked him. âOh, almost four months,â he said. âAnd how long will you stay?â âJust through the summer.â And the summer was long, she considered â it was long and it was overdue and it stretched out like the city itself: vast, abundant, monochromatic. Pansy nodded thinkingly. When she met his gaze again, he was looking at her like he was waiting for something. She held that look as she asked her next question. âAnd where are you staying?â

author's note: being brave and posting a panville WIP. everyone feel free to note how brave i'm being! set in magical barcelona. full of kissing. lots of dryhumping to come. just a real treat all the way around, if i do say so myself.
check the trigger warnings in the 'keep reading' below <3
read it on ao3
i'm writing a voldemort wins au and i've gone back and forth SOO many times if i want one of the main pairings to be ronmione or dramione. like, i feel like dramione fics automatically have much more visibility and success because the pairing is so compelling, but i have such an interesting idea in mind for draco instead. and i love ron so much! i want him to be flawed and redeemable just as much as draco is.
i'm writing it like ronmione right now and if i ever finish/upload it, i will have to make peace with the fact that i am the only person who loves that idea LOL
guys i'm going to my first writers conference in a few weeks. feeling very nervous don't have much new original material to workshop. haven't been writing much AT ALL. hoping to be struck by inspiration out in the wilderness!!!
god it was a waste of time. it was nice to meet some published authors and hear about their experiences, but mostly it was a performative circle jerk about what it Means to Be A Writer in Times Like These. somebody read a 5 minute poem about running over a frog with their car. they described its "wet hot green" -- like green is a noun, rather than an adjective. i don't know, it seems like all of that has very little to do with me.
it made me think of this excerpt from beautiful world where are you:
Have I told you I canât read contemporary novels anymore? I think itâs because I know too many of the people who write them. I see them all the time at festivals, drinking red wine and talking about whoâs publishing who in New York. Complaining about the most boring things in the world â not enough publicity, or bad reviews, or someone else making more money. Who cares? And then they go away and write their sensitive little novels about âordinary lifeâ. The truth is they know nothing about ordinary life. Most of them havenât so much as glanced up against the real world in decades. [...] If novelists wrote honestly about their own lives, no one would read novels â and quite rightly! Maybe then we would finally have to confront how wrong, how deeply philosophically wrong, the current system of literary production really is â how it takes writers away from normal life, shuts the door behind them, and tells them again and again how special they are and how important their opinions must be. And they come home from their weekend in Berlin, after four newspaper interviews, three photoshoots, two sold-out events, three long leisurely dinners where everyone complained about bad reviews, and they open up the old MacBook to write a beautifully observed little novel about âordinary lifeâ. I donât say this lightly: it makes me want to be sick.
when i was 19, i decided i would never write original fiction because i didn't see the point. i went to college with the express purpose of studying literature so that i could become good at writing fan fiction. i feel differently now about original work, but sometimes i think that idea was more intellectually honest.
