Sunday, my favorite day to walk in KL. No cars or motorbikes to dodge. Even the stray dogs seem to be resting and give us reprieve from a chase. Around every corner, a bloom and reminder that even in the city, we are in what was once a more lush rainforest.

Kuala Lumpur: A city that contains so much congestion and construction. Dull and yet vibrantly alive. Clouds loom threatening afternoon rain on one horizon and yet they break showing the sun over the mosque on the other.
Morning walk in Ampang is precarious at best.
Halloween is everywhere in KL. Found a local pumpkin (it's smaller than it looks) for RM17. The imported ones were RM398 that's over $130USD. Wow. Happy Great Pumpkin Day.

Sitting in a swing the bright sunlight near an overflowing lemon tree, looking around and thinking, wow, this is what it's like when you create white space in the calendar. In a quiet place, bearing witness to life, I find acceptance in simplicity and admiration for this beautiful moment.

On this day in 1969: As the Vietnam War raged, President Richard Nixon ordered the bombing of neighboring Cambodia for the first time. Nixon believed Cambodia was being used as a staging area for attacks on American forces; the bombings were kept secret for two months and continued through April 1970. A total of 3,630 sorties dropped 110,000 tons of ordnance.
