haii i don’t mean to invade your inbox with my pointless ramblings but i just wanted to come here to send over my praises
recently i got kicked back into my hey arnold spin and have been reading a bunch of fics since it’s been years since i’ve last been super indulged in this interest and back then i didn’t really read fics…. so i had a lot of grounds to cover
and it’s safe to say that your fic “hold me, console me” is my favorite shortaki fic hands down. i commented back in feb on that fic with my praises but i reread it today because i’ve been in a pretty bad emotional rut lately and i needed to cheer myself up, and i just couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. you truly understand their relationship and i can tell you love helga very much; because shes so deeply cared for by the people around her who matter most in this fic and that means so much to me to read.. cathartic even
i just wanted to thank you; i think anyone deserves to know when their work has impacted someone else, especially cuz you’d never know otherwise ❤️
oh my god… thank you so much it makes me so happy to see people love that fic as much as i loved writing it. yes, helga is an incredibly important character to me!!! i watched the series when i myself was nine and going thru a similar family dynamic and shitty childhood so i always felt like i could understand her loneliness her passion her rage and her pain. she’s just a sad little girl who wants to be loved and seen and even if she knows fully well how her parents are she still craves that acceptance from them :( which is why i wanted to stress just how much arnold will give her the love she deserves, bc he’s fully aware (even before they started dating) how they treat her. i feel like he’d be a very loveydovey boyfriend in general but he knows helga especially needs to know how loved she is and he’d shower her in affection (but not to a point where it would overwhelm her lol, he knows how she can get). i think she should also have people outside of him that truly care for her even if her parents are lacking
im rambling too lol but again thank you very much for reading im so happy you enjoyed it and that it had such an impact on you…😭😭❤️❤️
