Suspicious “Binge-worthy” Scenes
This was actually posted a couple of weeks ago, but I’m just now getting around to posting about it. I found it suspicious immediately. It’s an article (or rather a YouTube video) called “The Best Walking Dead Scenes to Binge During Quarantine.”
The way they present it, it’s like they asked what everyone’s favorite scenes were and then put them together based on popular vote.
Why is this suspicious? Because most of these scenes aren’t what I would call bing-worthy.
So, people’s favorite scenes are always going to be either high action scenes (where things are exploding or characters—especially Daryl and Rick—are being badasses) or super emotional scenes (You’re my brother, We are the walking dead, pretty much everything this season between Daryl and Judith). Stuff like that.
There are a few scenes in this video mashup that fall under one of these criteria, but not many. So let me lay them out for you.
1. Rick bites out Joe Claimer’s throat (4x16). This one actually does satisfy both criteria, in my opinion. So it’s not surprising, except for the fact that its kind of old now and I don’t think it’s the first thing most people would think of. But still.
2. Daryl and Rick meet Jesus (6x10). Yeah, this one doesn’t really hit either criteria. They only show the part where Jesus actually takes off with the truck (Jesus takes the wheel). There were parts of that episode that were far funnier than this scene, and also plenty of cooler scenes involving Jesus. So this one doesn’t make much sense.
