Hi I have a crush on this beautiful girl in school and she wants to write a letter to me and she wants one back. I would like to share it with others though as I’ve never written one before.

Chère ma femme Emily,

            You are the most beautiful girl in the world- you’re simply breath-taking. I feel my breath get caught in my throat at the sight of you. Your musical laugh has me wrapped around your little finger. I simply adore you mon amour. 

I’ve been thinking about you darling: your hair, your eyes, and your luscious lips. You walked into my life and flipped everything upside down in the best possible way. Ma belle you’re God’s gift to me and I’m so grateful for you. 

I want you every second and every hour of the day; you make my heart swell at the thought of you. Sort of related but-did you know the First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt was in a Sapphic relationship with an American journalist named Lorena Hickok. In a love letter Eleanor wrote “darling… I couldn’t say je t’aime et je t’adore as I longed to do, but always remember I am saying it, that I go to sleep thinking of you” You are my Lorena, sweetheart.

In the past few months you’ve become a pillar in my life and I don’t know what I’d do without you. Take care of yourself always baby. To me, you’re the neon lights in the midst of London: attracting the attention of everyone. You remind me of simple ice cream parlour dates on Friday afternoons forever engraved on Polaroid. If we were to go stargazing I wouldn’t be able to take my eyes off you: basking in the moonlight with the jewels of the midnight sky in your eyes. I want to bring you bouquets of sunflowers and roses because you said they’re your favourites. I want to go to outdoor movies with you in Hyde Park. I want to binge watch Netflix with you and go visit planetariums with you just so I could see what you look like amongst the constellations. 

I want to take you to art galleries because you’re exquisite as the artefacts on display. We can make brownies in our apartment while doing facemasks and watch dusk envelope the city beneath us.

I love every side of you and all of your traits even if you think they’re negative things. I’m drowning in you and I can’t think of a better thing to be doing.
