My yumeshipping blog, dedicated to my Pokémon trainer-sona x Chairman Rose from Pokémon, aka PhoenixRoseshipping!
[Soft sharing]

My side blog dedicated to my selfship/yumeship, which I have dubbed PhoenixRoseshipping! It pairs Chairman Rose (character from Pokémon Sword/Shield) with my Pokémon trainer OC/persona, Samantha Roiyant.
The storyline in which they interact takes place in an AU/rewrite of Sword/Shield, and somewhat crosses over into my usual Pokémon storyverse.
Summary: a future AU in which Sam is older and more cynical about her career as a Pokémon trainer, and being nudged into taking up the Gym Challenge in Galar for publicity. Leon sponsors her into the challenge, and she works through it quite handily, already being a pretty established and experienced Pokémon Master. But Rose, the Chairman of the Galar League and president of Macro Cosmos, seems to take a very particular interest in her progress and tries to recruit her for his own ends. When Sam bites back, uninterested in working for him, it intrigues him enough to take a closer look at the woman they call the "Lady of Phoenixes."
Though I'd love to write a full-length story about them, I have a primary story series I'm putting most of my energy and time into! Instead, I use my yumeship to spark inspiration outside of my main project, by way of little writing exercises and headcanons!
As personal a project as this is for me (not to say my other characters/projects aren't), I'll clarify that I do not think of myself as in a relationship with a fictional character. Rose is just like one of my many OCs, that I use to explore aspects of myself! My feelings for him are all in the fictional sense, as I am very happily married in real life!
The version of Sam I use for this AU is much closer to being a self-insert than her usual version, but she is still not quite 100% me. (She's still a character with her own backstory in the Pokémon world!) This takes place in a future AU, when she's older, to not only keep her regular story intact, but also use her to explore themes of getting older and being established and comfortable with one's self.
I understand that Sword/Shield ‘s story was not popular with a lot of other people, and Chairman Rose also isn't the most popular character. However, I do not feel comfortable seeing people bashing the game/characters that I love so much, and do not want to interact with people who do so. Even if you're jokingly mocking Rose or the story, I really would prefer not to see that. I block very liberally as a result to keep this account relaxing and comforting to me.
A "soft sharing" yumeshipper--I don't mind other people who also like Rose, and you're welcome to interact if you like! But I won't go out of my way to find other shippers, and I will be a bit sensitive about how he's portrayed, just as a heads-up!
I also haven't read the manga or watched the anime where Rose appears, though I'm aware of certain aspects of it through research. For the most part I'm fine with this and prefer to work with what I've headcanoned based on the game. I use a little bit of Rose's backstory elements to fill out his character, but the rest is probably my own fictional take.
Thank you for stopping by! <3

Been using the OTP Prompt Generator to do some writing exercises periodically, since I really don't have a lot of time to dedicate to writing a full story atm. Dedicated to capturing little moments between Chairman Rose and my Pokémon trainer OC/persona, Sam. <3
iii. Person A letting Person B warm their cold hands under their shirt.
Sam loved her Frosmoth, no doubt about that. But she still had yet to get used to the inherent chill that came with training Ice-types, and by the time she’d finished grooming the Pokemon’s soft fuzzy body, and giving her plenty of kisses, Sam felt like her hands had gone numb.
“I’ll order you those wool-lined gloves we saw in town at once,” Rose chided, taking her hands in his and rubbing them gently. “Can’t have you getting frostbite over your love of a bug.”
Rolling her eyes, Sam huffed, her breath an ethereal cloud in the air. “I thought you had better things to do than follow me around Circhester and scold me,” she muttered.
A small smirk quirked at the corner of his mouth, and he carefully unbuttoned the front of his coat, guiding her chilled hands inside. She pressed her whole body closer, shivering softly to feel the warmth of his body heat against her.
“Can’t have my favorite challenger freezing into a block of ice before she defeats Gordie in the upcoming match,” Rose murmured in her ear, sending a pleasant shiver up her spine, born of affection rather than the cold.
Sam felt heat rise in her face, both sorely appreciated in that moment, and mortifying at the same time. So she retaliated in the only way she could.
By sliding her cold hands up his waist, finding a convenient gap under his shirt, and eagerly seeking out the soft, warm skin of his stomach beneath it.
The undignified yelp he made in response was absolutely worth it.

ii. Person B buying Person A something unrequested because it made Person B think of them.
After yet another busy day—media appearances interspersed with Macro Cosmos agenda meetings and working on the schedule for the next League season—Rose returned to his office that evening to find a gift bag sitting conspicuously in the middle of his desk.
He eyed it curiously, almost warily, as he crossed the empty room to examine it. A small note was tucked into the top, and he pulled it free. A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, eyes reading over the familiar handwriting:
“Stopped by the farmer’s market this morning and saw these cookies—I’m sorry, biscuits—you apparently adore. Reminded me of tea with you. <3 Sam”
Whether security let Sam through, or she somehow convinced Oleana to deliver the bag for her, Rose wasn’t sure. Perhaps he’d have words with both, though he doubted he’d be able to keep the smile out of his voice as he scolded them.
He pulled the tissue paper out to find, true to Sam’s word, a sealed bag of the shortbread biscuits he was ever so fond of taking with his tea breaks. His fingers hovered over the bag, discipline warring with desire, before he finally gave in, opening the bag and plucking one out to take a bite.
His eyes closed, taking a moment to savor the familiar buttery flavor. He could almost picture her sitting across from him at his desk, legs crossed and her eyes sparkling with amusement whilst sipping her tea.
Rose inhaled slowly, opening his eyes again and smiling faintly. Perhaps it was time to find another excuse to invite her to his office. Maybe he’ll lure her with the promise of tea and biscuits… and something else just as sweet.

i. Forehead touches. Forehead kisses.
Sometimes the most meaningful interactions were the ones she stole with him just out of sight. Just around corners, just before stepping out of the room, just before he’d leave for work or she’d slip away from his penthouse apartment.
Sam would wrap her arms around his waist, pulling him into a hug, her face pressed into the warmth of his body and the scent of his cologne, clean with just a touch of musk. Rose would rest his hand atop her head for a moment, before tipping it back so she could look up at him. Their eyes would meet, and she’d be greeted by that subtle little smile before he leaned in to press their foreheads together—a subtle gesture, yet full of such meaning, of all the words they longed to say yet had no time for.
Then he’d pull back, before moving to press his lips against her forehead, the most tender of kisses yet.
“Until next we meet, my dear,” he’d whisper, if he could afford to speak without others hearing.
And Sam always—always—felt the pain of longing, of missing him, of waiting until that moment when she would bury herself in his arms and be close to him once again.
I fear this most recent obsession of mine isn’t abating and it really is occupying my thoughts more and more lately, so what the heck. x3
I think I want to try out selfshipping/yumeshipping for serious for the first time! It’s different from ships I’ve done before, in that it’s more with my self-insert than with any OC of mine. (I’m still using my trainer-sona cause she has such a history in the Pokémon world already, but it’s a version of her much closer to the real me.) It’s also been… super personal and comforting, especially since I’ve been having a rough time lately!
So uh… ahem. Look forward to occasional gushing about me/Sam paired with Chairman Rose, the ever so charming and misguided villain from Pokémon Sword/Shield! <3
To celebrate, I’m sharing some art I commissioned from my friend @lovelywingsart! They did such a great job~ <3 (I'll be changing up Sam's design for the purposes of the yumeship AU, but I love her standard design so it still works!)
Ugh T_T It's too much. But I love it. <3
I'll try not to gush too much on main, but maybe I'll have a sideblog dedicated to it once I get more time to work on it... Basically it takes place in an AU/rewrite of Sword/Shield, and it's mostly a comfort story that explores themes of getting older and being comfortable with one's self.
So... thank you for humoring me, all. It means a lot to me ^^
