Hahahaha no.

A guy at the soiree you two attended caught you when you got back from the bathroom, suddenly talking your ear off. You tried ending the conversation a few times, taking steps in you husband's direction, but the man kept going on about all his money and possessions, trying (and failing) to impress you

Giovanni watched, amused that someone didn't recognize who you were. Surely, that idiot didn't know, because otherwise that would mean he knew you were taken by the Rocket boss and actively chose to disrespect him

The second Giovanni approached and put his arm around your waist, the man's eyes got wide, seeing his mistake immediately

"I see you met my beautiful spouse", he said, taking your left hand in his and lifting it to his face to kiss the gold ring on your finger. You smiled brightly, nuzzling your nose into your husband's cheek

The guy made a quick excuse to leave – not that it would spare him from the grunts waiting in front of the venue, ready to pull him into the nearby alleyway

Maxie

You were visiting the hot springs in Lavaridge Town, a rare treat for your workaholic boyfriend. He left for a few minutes to get you two something to drink, only to return to a random stranger trying to hit you up

Now, he wouldn't like that at the best of times, but with you only wearing a towel, his alarm bells were ringing something fierce

Putting the drinks down next to your head, he got back into the pool, pulling you close. "They have a private pool too, you know", he whispered into your ear, "Might be worth investing into next time. A little more... privacy."

With you leaning back into him, he planted a kiss onto your shoulder, all while pointedly staring at the stranger, silently urging them to leave

The rest of the day was spend with less relaxing and more keeping an eye out for people who could try and interrupt his alone time with you

Archie

With how loud he is about it, you'd think that all of Hoenn knew about him being your boyfriend, but alas, some people wear noise canceling headphones

He's the type of guy to get his chest tattoed with your name and rip his shirt open every time you're even mentioned, and yet someone didn't get the memo

You were at the beach, and Archie just came back with some ice cream, when he saw some weirdo offering to put some sunscreen on your back

"Not to worry, I already took care of that. Ain't that right, Luvdisc?", he beamed at you, offering you one of the cones in his hands. "Or did I miss a spot? I wouldn't mind 'ta go again, do a more thorough job this time", he winked at you

You lightly slapped his arm, giggling at his forwardness, completely ignoring the stranger in favour of bantering with your man

While you shifted your attention to your melting ice cream cone, Archie shot the retreating stranger a victorious look, knowing full well that you'd always choose him

Cyrus

Would act like he doesn't care, but cares very very much

Usually, you're the one following him around, talking his ear off about this and that. So, when he went to visit the Celestic Town ruins, he parked you in front of the entrance to study them in peace

Coming out of the ruins, he was grateful for the setting sun not blinding him, but that quickly dissipated when he saw you chatting away with a local, laughing and having a good time

He wasn't sure what he thought would happen while he was away, but he found himself not liking that you were laughing with someone other than him

So, he marched over to where you were sitting, pulling you up and – quite uncharacteristically – pulled you right into his chest, glaring over your shoulder at the stranger

The next few days, Cyrus was downright clingy (translation: followed you into every room to sit in silence and stare at you, like a Glameow)

Did he say anything? No. But he didn't have to, you knew exactly what was up, even when he would deny it should you bring it up to him

Next time he visited the cave, you would be firmly planted next to him while he studied the mural, content to have you yapping away and giggling at your own jokes

Ghetsis

The worst offender on the list. Ghetsis is a terribly jealous man, even with people he usually trusts

He would get the Shadow Triad to escort you everywhere... If he didn't get jealous of them spending so much time alone with you

So, he just drags you with him everywhere

Standing a little away from the crowd listening to Ghetsis speak, some poor fool leaned over to you, whispering about how your partner's preaching was nonsensical and making fun of him

Ghetsis saw, of course. But he is much more vain than he is jealous, so he waited for the crowd to disperse after his speach to do anything about it, lest his image was damaged

Straightening his back to loom over the person, he coldly asked them what business they have with you, a condescending look on his face

Not that he'd wait for an answer, pulling you away from the offending party as soon as he ended his sentence

For the rest of the day, he would be incredibly annoyed, but still have you sit on his lap the whole time while doing paperwork, holding you close to him with his usually hidden arm, something he only ever showed you

Colress

He can be very intimidating if he wants to be

After leaving you for a moment to get something from another isle while shopping, Colress came back to some stranger inviting you over to his house to try the wine you just picked out

Standing behind you and looking at the guy from over your shoulder, Colress seemed almost menacing, his smile strained and his eyes unblinking

The man felt a shiver run down his back, stopping his advances to ask who that was behind you

"Ah, darling, i found the sauce you wanted!" His whole demeanor changed the second you looked at him, thanking him and turning back to your shopping cart, rummaging around

With you distracted, Colress got back to staring at the stranger, who silently stepped backwards as if confronted with a dangerous pokemon

Lysandre

Another reason to reset this world

Coming back into his café after he had to take a business call, he found that some idiot took his place across from you at the table

What's next, stealing his coffee too?

Your eyes immediately locked onto him once he came through the door, smiling sweetly, happy to see your husband return

The stranger turned around to see what you're looking at, only to see a mountain of a man approaching the table

"I only stepped out for a minute, has my lovely spouse decided to replace me already?" He was teasing, you nkew that, but you still scolded him for even suggesting something like that

Glaring at the stranger, Lysandre grabbed the back of his chair. "You can leave now", he said, and the guy didn't have to be told twice, not even paying for his coffee

Lysandre decided then to inform the baristas that this guy was now banned from the café

Guzma

Let's say he takes his arm off your shoulders long enough for someone to start a one-on-one conversation with you

If they are dumb enough to actually flirt with you, stay vigilant for flying bottles

Guz would 100% start a fight

He knows he somehow bagged an absolute baddie with you, and he has no idea how someone like you even gave him a chance, so he's determined to defend his territory

You didn't even think they were flirting with you, but evidently Guzma thought differently

You could certainly try to pull him away, but distracting him would be way easier. Stay calm and reassure him, then pull him away long enough for the person to make their escape

Would grumble the rest of the night and leave some very visible hickeys on you to ward off competition

Lusamine

Someone didn't know that the person with matching outfits with her was taken? Either dense or downright stupid

She was off to give a quick interview, and you hung back a few meters and watched her handbag, which was when some unfortunate stranger decided to shoot their shot

With the interviewers (and therefore cameras) gone, the crashout was legendary. Lusamine tore that person apart, criticizing their outfit, their hair, their face, everything, all disguised as backhanded compliments

She aimed to tear down their self-confidence, with a smile on her face and her hand on your waist

When the stranger finally had enough and took their leave, Lusamine giggled into your ear and planted a sweet kiss on your lips. No one but her could ever be good enough for you

Rose

Walking out of the stadium after watching an exhibition match, a drunk man decided that you were the love of his life and did what he could to get your number

You only wanted to wait for your fiancé and tried explaining to the guy that you can't help him with whatever he needed since you were busy, but he was having none of it

Suddenly, a hand was on your shoulder, and you turned around to see a very sad looking Rose. Throwing your arms around his neck and kissing his cheek, you asked him why he looked so down. The stranger balked, wondering if he was seeing this right; was that chairman Rose?!

"Would you mind not flirting with my fianceé, friend? I would quite like to be the only one who does that." Polite as ever, Rose slung his arms around your waist while you told him the guy was just a random drunk

But, once you looked back to where he stood, the guy was already gone, stumbling away as fast as he could

Volo

He's been courting you for months, and now some rando thinks they have a chance with you!?

Volo was already mentally planning your wedding, now he had to hurry and make sure there would even be a wedding to begin with

The two of you were visiting the Diamond Clan settlement, you stopping by on your research trip, him delivering orders from the guild. After his last customer, he went to find you, only to see you conversing with one of the Diamond Clan's bachelors

You might not be aware, but he sure was. He could see the way that guy looked at you, how nervous he was to be talking to you. Everyone in Jubilife knew of your relationship with Volo, he made sure of that, but obviously word didn't travel to the Mirelands

Putting on his best customer service smile, he planted himself firmly next to you, butting into the conversation with thinly veiled threats to stay away, all still reasonably deniable, of course

With the fiend defeated, Volo put a hand on the small of your back, ushering you out of the settlement. He'd be damned if you slept anywhere near here, already looking for a place to set up his own tent, a healthy distance away from the clan's grounds

I don't think we talk about Rose and Leon's final interaction in Pokemon Journeys.

In my opinion, Leon gets a lot of almost unnecessary hate. I know a lot of it is centred around him constantly being called unbeatable but there are two things to bear in mind with this: a) Galar hasn't seen another champion for about ten years now, of course there'll be a lot of hype around any champion who can keep their title that long, and b) the mention of him being unbeatable almost every five seconds was probably intentional by the writers to make us as the player want to take him down just so people would shut up about it.

And Rose probably would have been happy to keep up the hype in universe (either game or anime, there's very little difference). After all, this is his prodigy, his trophy. And why wouldn't you in that position? Your region hasn't had a different champion for a practically a decade. The pieces are too perfect for your plan. If someone can't be beaten for ten years, then Eternatus - the very thing you're raising that champion for - should be no problem. Best of all, Leon's been, well, obedient for you. He's turned up to all his public appearances, he's given everyone something to look up to, to praise, almost worship. What does it matter if you release a god of a pokemon? Leon will handle it, promote your idea and all will be forgiven...

Now, this next bit is a bit of speculation about why Leon went along with Rose and his life before. In the game, we only see his mother and grandfather. In the anime, we're told that Leon didn't really have friends at school, either because he was too busy training or he was helping with Hop. So it's fair enough to assume that his dad wasn't really in the picture - either because he was dead or just left (I have to assume the latter as we don't see any sort of memorial or grave for him) - as we never hear anything about him. Presumably, Leon had to play the second parent to Hop as his mother either worked through a breakup or divorce. Sonia's line is 'busy taking care of his little brother'. Notice how she doesn't say 'helping', this implies that Leon was doing a majority of the parenting because of how depressed his mother was. Hop never mentions their dad either, considering the only one he wants to make proud is Leon, so he probably can't even remember their dad. So yeah, Leon had to take up the role of 'father' before he was ten.

And this would play right into Rose's hands.

Your ten, your father has left you and he's not coming back, you're almost constantly doing most of the parenting for your mother. On one hand, you want to shine so brightly that your dad will have no choice but to come back and at least acknowledge you. On the other, you don't want him to. This is all his fault. Then, when you become champion at ten, the chairman himself takes interest in you. You don't have to be a father anymore. For once, you can be the child. And that's how it plays out for a few years. That is until you win every match. Rose fills your head with ideas of greatness, being Galar's shining light. But for some reason, he won't let you go home except for brief visits for 'champion reasons'. You find you have to make more and more public appearances and sponsorship deals. But, deep down, the child in you wants to make your father figure proud and, even now, you do too. So you do everything right. By now, the mantel of 'champion' feels more like a burden than a point of pride. But you continue to hype up crowds. Even if you can no longer go out in public without the press.

You notice a few cracks in Rose a few years later. He's been talking about 'infinite energy' and 'the greater good' a lot more than he used to. You have your doubts but years of being Rose's son - even if neither of you said it - crushes those doubts. Surely he wouldn't do anything to put anyone at risk?

That's when pokemon start going on dynamax or gjgantamax rampages. Lives are in danger and you do all you can to help. But you see things that you doubt will leave you - people's houses are destroyed, sometimes with their owners still in them, there are multiple injuries and families torn apart. Eventually, you decide enough is enough, it's time you see for yourself what Rose has been up to in Hammerlocke. You watch for yourself as Eternatus emerges. You follow it up to Hammerlocke stadium, where Rose is waiting.

"I find talented Trainers like yourself and help you advance. Yes, and now you will catch the revived Eternatus." [Pokemon Journeys: Sword and Shield... From Here To Eternatus!]

You realise that you were never worth anything to Rose. You'd been nothing but a cog in his machine. He didn't care for you. At least not as much as he cared about what you could do for him. You no longer care for his sob story.

"There has already been great loss! I don't want to see anymore tradegy!" [Pokemon Journeys: Sword and Shield... From Here To Eternatus!] You burst out. You will catch Eternatus. But not for Rose. You will catch so it may never see the light of day again. You can no longer care for Rose and the rest of your days are spent trying to work out who you are without the champion he raised you to be.

thinking about how Bede didn’t even realise just how much he’d been betrayed back in stow on side. How he just lashes out and calls everyone stupid because he legitimately has no idea that he was completely set up.

also how it was pretty much masterminded by Oleana even though she’s also a victim of Rose’s bullshit and when she sees Bede with such a similar upbringing to hers she chooses loyalty to Rose instead of empathy for the young boy who is just like her

and how Rose constantly talks about Galar this Galar that but when a literal orphan under his thumb messes up he takes away what little he has without a thought and never once shows real concern for any individual, just obsessed with some greater view of the region while every person in it is a cog in a machine

It's Honestly Kind of a Shame We Never Had Peony Interact With Hop Give Their Stories Are So Similar

Both little brothers who are incredibly talented, but unfortunately are stuck in the shadows of their older siblings. Whether it be because they're more talented or because they simply are the family's favorite.

The irony is Leon isn't Rose, just as Hop isn't Peony.

We're not given much of Rose and Peony's relationship (Which is a shame) but from what we get from Leon and Hop it's clear that the man loves and cares about him. And worries over him constantly.

And Hop absolutely adores Leon right back as much as Leon does him. (And worries about him too like going full steam ahead up a tower where his brother was facing Eternatus along with storming into Rose Tower because he could just sense something wasn't right.)

They're close, yes Leon's Champion Title puts strain on them but at the end of the day the brother's constantly prove they love and care about the other and would do absolutely anything for each other.

Rose we've seen can be quite arrogant, and let's be honest as much as I love Peony he can be pretty prideful. Very pushy and loud to the point both his daughters need their space from him. (still love you Peony he just tries too hard) Their personalities most likely clashed and if Rose truly was the family favorite like Leon is shown to be in their home then I can see their bond starting to splinter long ago.

Maybe both let their pride get in the way of their bond. Maybe they both thought the other hated them first and they let their hurt get in the way. (I have another idea but I'm saving that for Fade Away and I don't wanna spoil it) Like there's so many things that could have happened with their relationship and we just don't really know.

(You could also factor age difference since Rose and Peony look almost like they're twins meanwhile there's a pretty large age gap between Leon and Hop. Which makes Leon's bond with Hop a mix of brotherly and parental at the same time thanks to that and Leon shown to really love taking care of others)

But just the idea Peony meeting Hop taking the kid aside and simply asking.

Peony: Hey... you're okay though right lad? If you ever need anyone to talk to Old Steele Peony's here for you.

Maybe because he thinks about how he didn't have someone watch out for him being stuck in Rose's shadow. Maybe because he worries Hop might start resenting Leon like Peony did his brother as time went on. He sees Leon's a good person as well as Hop and he doesn't want history to repeat itself with these two.

Heck add in the idea part of why Leon worries over Hop so much isn't only out of love but because he worries Hop may start to resent him like how Peony did Rose. He knows of Peony, maybe he saw how distant they were and he didn't want that to be him and his brother but cant help but just... worry. Because Hop is the one thing he constantly worries over no matter what.

All this just really started rolling in my mind while I write Fade Away because I love the idea that the brother duos are sort of mirrors and they find themselves comparing their bonds to the other and worrying about it. (Except Hop. I see the idea of Hop may not even know Peony because he's a really old school athlete and he's a sensitive subject to Rose so they sort of just wipe his info out of public eye. That's what I'm going with for my fic anyway)

Sooooo yeah, all this to say I wish we could've had Peony and Hop meet. It coulda been cool.

I am leaving the rest to you" This is loosely based on Pokémon SWSH ending in the Manga The difference being Chairman Rose fights it firsthand instead of Leon or the Player, it was his cause afterall so he will face it. This entire Scene inspired my drawing. The tention and the danger Eternatus represents and Rose facing it instead to prevent anyone else from getting hurt in the Manga is simply amazing. And hey it has been a while since i last posted, now that i gratuated i will use this website to share my art again :).
