In Theory, Raiden Shogun Can Replicate Everything About Ei, But... | Raiden Shogun: Side Notes
Hello, Traveler! The "Reign of Serenity" Event Wish will be available from July 21, 18:00, and "Plane of Euthymia" Raiden Shogun will receive a huge drop-rate boost!
All is illusion in the floating world, and stillness is its essence. She is Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho, God of Thunder.
Not to derail the Acheron train (again) but every time you make these little Acheron posts, my brain automatically goes "yes that's good but imagine that with Shenhe" cuz I'm just obsessed like that.
Anyway that made me think of who would last longer with that challenge, Shenhe or Acheron? Now as much as Acheron is the stronger fighter of the two (I'm sorry my love) I'd argue Shenhe does have the most core strength between them as she's literally capable of casually carrying a giant rock around like it's no big deal.
In a modern AU with no Eminator powers or Adeptal training or anything, I'd say they're evenly matched.
It's been a year since she lives between humans and the society, however, she is still a crane's daughter at heart
Gn!Reader, Shenhe being confused bird, she just want to show off her fishing skill :(
After that Gaming story where Shenhe literally decked a rowdy customer, i think she takes anything too literally (and i think that is cute sometimes)
Do you think she sees cranes preening each other's feathers, she will also try combing and brushing your hair? I think she will enjoy hair care, washing, conditioner, cocoa butter or oil.

Local cheep cheep has a stretch and gains an admirer. (Happy birthday, Sara!)
A/N: Okay I had this sitting in my notes and threw some glitter on it. Voilà! (I might make an eisara version)
The sun lazily drifts lower in the sky when Sara steps onto the familiar paths of Chinju Forest. There's a warm, pleasant breeze; it barely rustles the foliage above and playfully lifts the longer strands of her hair. It's a rare day where she had finished her work for the Shogunate early, and after cooking a simple, yet lovely meal for herself, she found herself with time to spare before the sun would set. Normally she would spend this time caring for her lacquer ware, but Kamaji has grown the habit of trying to shoo her out of the house and make more friends. She'd rather avoid his monologue about her social life on such a beautiful day, so she set out and left the city altogether.
Sunbeams light her path forward until she stops in a clearing. It's not too big, but wide enough for her to spread her wings and stretch them fully, undisturbed by lampposts, or awnings, or any human-made objects. With a deep breath and a lung-full of clean, forest air, she stretches thus; her arms skyward and her wings following the motion. Stiff joints pop and muscles tense, then loosen as the strain of keeping them hidden disappears. The dark feathers eagerly siphon the rays of light on them, warmth spreading across the plumage. It's such a delightful feeling, Sara loses herself in it for a moment.
It's why she doesn't hear your footsteps as you approach, careful and in awe of the rare sight. So in awe, it seems you can't help but let a sound escape your lips.
"Whoa.."
In an instant, the wings are gone — retracted into that illusion of nonexistence — and she has turned to the voice with her weapon drawn, no matter how venerated it sounded. You visibly jump back, startled by the General's readiness to attack. Upon seeing you, a civilian, she significantly lowers her sword to a less threatening height and stares at you wordlessly.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," you say sheepishly, and your demeanor only convinces her more of your innocence. If you were here to attack her, you could have done so when her back was turned instead of risking her ire. With a shake of her head, she dismisses the weapon and straightens.
"You merely took me by surprise," she says calmly. "Humans tend to avoid straying from the paths in these woods."
"Sorry," you say again, bowing your head in deference. "I didn't mean to disturb you, but.. Oh, I couldn't help but stare at your beautiful wings!"
Beautiful? Her wings have been called many things, but the positivity in commentary regarding them isn't particularly high on that list. She feels herself fluster a bit, her impeccable stoicism faltering — she clears her throat and ignores it. "Thank you."
"Could you.. I mean, if I may be so bold," you say, suddenly shy. "Could I please see them again?"
She hesitates. On one hand, the youkai in her — Tengu, proud and tenacious — wishes to show off her wings, their inky black feathers and hidden strength, with her head held high and shameless. But another part of her protests vehemently against the thought. That little voice nags, speaking of terror and distrust at the sight of her nature; reminds her of citizen's eyes staring, their lips curling in fear, or disgust, or both.
But you're looking at her with nothing but admiration in your eyes, and she can't remember the last time someone truly wanted to see them, see her. The double pair of wings appear once more, illusion dispelled in a small gust of wind that releases a few loose feathers. You make a small noise, in awe and almost entranced as you step closer to view them. Sara feels that glimmering pride filling her chest, straightening her spine further as she unfurls her wings fully; your eyes follow the movement curiously, gaze sweeping over to the very tips of her wings, to the length of the flight feathers beneath.
Most people feel threatened in the shadows of her unfurled wings, and she expected you to be the same any moment now. But you're not. It's so different of a reaction, she's becoming just as curious about you now. While you're eyeing her wings, she's taking in your appearance properly. You're not wearing the most complex outfit; civilian clothing, fit for short trips with a shoulder bag and some pouches hanging off your belt. Most interestingly are the feathers decorated onto the aforementioned bag, and the sparrows embroidered just beneath your collarbone. There's a silver broach pinned to the strap of your bag in the shape of a crane.
So, you like birds.. and you happen to walk into a Tengu in the woods? She'd blame fate if she didn't know any better. Wait —
"Why are you here?" She asks, sudden and bold. It takes you out of your trance, and you jump a little at her stern voice — not that she'd meant to sound as such. Another sheepish smile graces your features and you shuffle in place.
"Someone told me I could find a rare bird here," you say, fiddling with the strap of your bag. "I'm an amateur ornithologist."
"Describe them," Sara says, then quickly remembers to add, "please."
"Umm.. it was a man with glasses," you answer, despite your apparent shock at being questioned. "I think he had brown hair? He had a doushin following him."
You seem surprised. Did you not expect me to prepare my own meals?
My duties with the Shogunate leave me little time for such things. Given that, I suppose your reaction is understandable.
Even so, on the rare occasions when I have time to spare, I find cooking rather enjoyable. It offers a welcome taste of ordinary life, would you not agree?
It is nothing special — only a few simple home-cooked dishes. Still, if you do not mind, please sit and join me.
Not that I'm seriously bothered but the only genshin discord I'm in consists primarily of straight ladies talking about the men in this game and I feel really out of place lmao
In any case, I can make the request with Ganyu, Sarah, Shenhe, Furina, Lynette and Arlecchino with a shy, kind and quiet Y/N taking a stance to defend them?
(Genshin Impact) Ganyu, Eula, Sara, Shenhe, Furina, Lynette, and Arlecchino's shy S/O defending them
Ganyu is speechless when she sees her S/O stepping in between the person she's speaking to.
(S/O) "Ganyu is always doing the best she can...! I don't see you putting even a single fraction of effort she always does!"
While she is surprised, her love for S/O goes up tenfold hearing them stand up for her. Especially knowing that they were just as shy as she was.
It inspires her to do the same, and takes their hand to excuse themselves.
Once they get out of the area, she gives such a warm smile to them.
(Ganyu) "Thank you for saying those things about me, S/O...Would you like to get dinner tonight, it's on me!"
Eula can't help but wince a little, seeing S/O step in to defend her.
She was used to this, and worst of all, this would paint a target on S/O's back as well, if dating her already didn't do that.
But at the same time, it made her heart swell hearing their words.
(S/O) "Who cares if she's a Lawrence! She's always fought for every single one of us in Mondstadt to keep it safe, including you! Don't...Don't treat her like that!"
Once she fights off her creeping blush, she takes S/O aside after the argument.
(Eula) "You didn't need to do that, but...thank you, S/O. Just don't get hurt because of me, got it?"
Sara is more impressed than anything that someone had the balls to even insult the General of the Tenryou Commission straight to her face.
And she continues to be when Sara steps in.
(S/O) "And what have you contributed to Inazuma? Sara would be the first one to defend the people, while you'd be doing nothing!-"
With how soft-spoken S/O was, she decides to step in so that way S/O doesn't let a vein burst in anger.
(Sara) "That is enough, S/O. Thank you."
Once they're in private, she can't help but smile.
(Sara) "S/O, about what happened back there...I have to say I'm impressed and...thanks."
Shenhe is resisting the urge to bash this person's head against the wall.
Not for insulting her, she was used to that, it was for doing this while she was on a date with S/O, and their time had to be wasted on this nonsense.
Before she could open her mouth and threaten them, S/O steps in.
(S/O) "She's not an adeptus. Shenhe is human, more than you are!"
Shenhe recoils ever so slightly at their words, moreso by the fact that S/O spoke less than her, and yet decided to interfere.
It also made Shenhe be that much more fond of S/O. They'd defend her, even though she didn't need it?
(Shenhe) "S/O, let us be off before I throw this man into the harbor."
And if they tried to insult S/O, then Adepti help them, because then she'd actually do violence to them.
Furina shrinks with every insult thrown her way by the person standing in their way.
At least, until S/O stepped in between them.
(S/O) "Shut up. Furina isn't even human, yet she'll always be a better person than whatever you'll turn out to be!"
Furina's mouth goes agape, she'd never thought that the S/O who would clam up at the presence of more than herself could say such a thing.
Doubly so when they spit at their feet and take her hand and drag Furina away.
Furina is blushing the entire time, trying to process what just happened.
(Furina) "That...was quite the performance S/O. And...u-um...thank you for defending me."
She is looking away, blushing madly as she thanks them.
Lynette really didn't care about the person calling her cold.
She was used to it, and it's not like they were wrong. She was busy tuning them out until S/O's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
(S/O) "If you're so adamant on her performing magic, I got one for you! Conjure yourself a bridge, AND JUMP OFF IT!"
Lynette's tail shoots straight up as her eyes go wide.
Okay, she didn't expect her S/O was even more quiet than her to ever say something like that.
Not that she had a complaint at all about it.
S/O and Lynette get some privacy, making her speak up.
(Lynette) "...I'd say you should say stuff like that more often, but that'll create more headaches for the two of us."
Arlecchino couldn't give less of a damn about what people said about her.
Which made her all the more surprised when S/O defended her from a stranger's rude words.
(S/O) "You call her hands creepy, but you haven't even looked in a mirror today!"
Oh? Now that got her attention.
She was under the impression that her S/O was like Freminet in terms of speaking to others.
Arlecchino doesn't even wait until they're out of earshot.
(Arlecchino) "My, I didn't know you had it in you, S/O. You should let that side out more often."
If that person wanted to interrupt her and S/O's conversation now, they'd answer to her instead.
S/O's defense truly wasn't needed, but the thought at least counts.
hello! idk if you write for Ei but if so can you do her with a reader who’s afraid of thunderstorms?
Thanks for the request!
I'm actually a bit spooked by thunderstorms, myself. Not properly scared, or anything — I just get a bit freaked out about the loud noise and the sudden flashing lol. Anyways, I turned that up to 10 in this fic so, enjoy!
Midnight Thunder
Raiden Ei x Reader
GN!Reader — SFW — Fluff, Comfort — Romantic — UTC due to length~
It's nearly midnight when a storm rolls in to disturb your peace. If only there was a certain Goddess of Thunder at your side..
There's a few flashes outside your window. The light catches in the corner of your eye and you lower the book you'd been reading to your lap. Leaning against the headboard of a luxurious, large bed — dark sheets to cover your body, purple silk soft against your skin — you sat and look outside. Quietly. Listening.
It takes a moment, but a low rumble followed like the distant growling of a dragon, hiding within the thick, dark clouds above. Not that you could see it, as far in the evening as it is; the world outside your window is already shrouded in darkness, the moon and stars beyond that veil of storms.
Another few flashes startle you a little, which is silly. As if the way your heart starts to beat just a bit faster than it should, waiting for that rumble again. It takes less time, and echoes louder through the sky. You don't know why, but a shiver runs down your spine as the room's temperature drops with the sound of rain outside. Flash. Rumble.
And it is silly, the way you feel a pang of anxiety in your veins. Your partner is the Electro Archon — the Narukami Ogosho, God of Thunder herself — and there's absolutely zero logic in fearing the storm, when its embodiment often slumbers beside you. Except not now.
Now, the Raiden Shogun has a meeting with the Tenryou Commission that's running late, and thus you do not have your beloved goddess beside you. It's why you were reading before; despite not needing sleep, Ei makes an effort to come and rest with you, and thus you make an effort to fall asleep tucked into her embrace every night. Flash.
You don't expect the sound of the door sliding open and jump at that, a small gasp leaving you as you turn your head. Ei peeks around the partially opened screen, and when she sees you are awake, she seems to nod to herself. You're briefly distracted from the rumbling thunder outside as you watch her graceful movements, barely opening the door further before slipping into the room like a shadow. You blink and it's closed, with Ei approaching the bed with quick steps and a frown that takes you a little moment to read as concerned. Oh.
"Are you alright, my love?"
You nod despite the prickles of discomfort beneath your skin. "I'm fine. I thought your meeting ran late?"
Ei had started to reach for your hand when she sat down on the bed, but changes course at your words to take off her gloves instead. "It had. But I would not let this meeting go on through the night. Indecent sleep prohibits the mind to make rational decisions."
You watch her quietly as she goes through her nightly routine. Removing accessories — placing her hair clip onto the night stand with a gentle care — discarding her tights and trading in her kimono for sleepware. Flashes from outside takes your attention away, and you watch the dark windows again. The thunder sounds much louder now, coming far quicker than before. You feel an urge to whimper swell within your chest; to hide beneath the covers like a frightened child, as if it would save you from the storm. But why? You're safe within your room in Tenshukaku.
Your demeanor isn't missed by the Almighty Shogun, of course. She's had her eye on you the entire time, and sees your discomfort in your tense shoulders; the way you grip the sheets into your hands, knuckles turning white. She wishes to comfort you, but.. Ei has never been particularly good at that. Makoto was the gentle soul, the one whose blade was dull and whose heart would bleed for others. Ei has sharp edges; she's a warrior, a protector. She can rally troops and lead a nation. But now, her words fail her as she settles beneath the covers and dims the light.
There's only one thing that comes to mind, then. As she gently calls out your name, voice barely heard over the sound of rain outside, she touches your wrist to get your attention. You startle a little, but you turn and look at her; like a fawn lost in the woods. It tugs at her heart, that fearful look in your eyes. With what she hopes is an encouraging smile, she holds out her arms in invitation. "Come, let me hold you."
And what else can you do but obey your goddess? Gladly, you lower down to settle within her arms, a certain warmth engulfing you. This close, there's no hiding the way your body trembles as the thunder does to the earth, and you tuck your face into her shoulder. She hums, a hand stroking down your back.
"Why do you fear the storm?"
Curiosity trickles into her tone, and you know she only wishes to understand. But frustration makes tears prick in the corners of your eyes, and you grit your teeth against the feeling.
"I don't know," you say, breathing in deeply to stay calm at a particularly loud clap of thunder. Ei's scent surrounds you, pleasant and sweet like the desserts she loves so much; the fragrant sakuras in the gardens she strolls through. Her embrace tightens the smallest amount at the increase of your fear, as if she can feel your heartbeat. She probably could.
You're not sure if it's worse to not see the flashes, buried into the blankets and Ei as you are. The angry thunder above your head, so very loud, makes you jump once more and she gently shushes you, moving her hand to stroke your hair this time.
"Miko used to fear the storms," she says then, reminiscing as she is wont to do late at night. "She would run and hide beneath whatever furniture was nearby, if my sister wasn't available. Otherwise, she'd find refuge in her arms, much like you are finding yours in mine."
Beside yourself, you scoff a little. "Wasn't she just a little kit, then? That's hardly a good comparison."
The next rumble beneath you comes from a light chuckle. "She was little, yes — a little ball of pink. Though I'm not quite sure how grown she really was at that point, given her kitsune nature. Her diminutive size hasn't changed much since then."
You unburrow yourself to look up at her. "Are you telling me Yae Miko, the Guuji of the Narukami Shrine, is still a cute, little pink fox?"
There's a certain twinkling mirth in Ei's eyes as she returns your gaze; one between mischievous and fond. "She certainly looks like one."
Thunder, again. Quieter this time. The storm's moving away, and you lay your head back down with a sigh. With that knowledge, your eyes are drooping. The two of you remain silent, listening to the fading storm and the rain.
"Did you stop your meeting for me?"
Ei takes some time to reply.
"Maybe."
She kisses your temple before rubbing her cheek against your head like an affectionate cat. "The Shogun agreed with me, albeit for only the reasons I'd stated before. It's as good an excuse as any to spend more time with you."
You hum and mumble in reply, but your words are incoherent even to your own ears as sleep starts to drag you under. There's only rain outside now, though calming thunder drums beneath your head. The only storm you'd never fear lives on in the heart of the goddess holding you tight to her chest.
There is zero. ZERO reason for Columbina to poke Sandrone like that aside from annoying her on purpose, and then she doesn't even look at her while she does. Not to mention she's not even sitting in her own chair. And Sandrone just gets mildly miffed at her antics.
Got 6 requests to work on, thank you ❤️ please be patient with me, it's gonna be super warm again this week (though not humid, yay!) so I might be a liiittle slow due to potential headaches, hehe.
Currently requests:
Three requests for Beidou (one specific and two with other names (Mavuika & Dehya) mentioned)
Two for Ei x reader
One for EiSara x reader (which I actually misread as only Sara somehow so uhh yall might get a free Sara x reader at some point)
I've also got some writings of my own, of course. If there's a large gap between my ability to finish these requests, I'll post those too ^^ (and those x reader-ified OC ficlets I keep mentioning.. I just keep piling up these ideas, huh?)
Little update aside, I feel the need to yap real quick and say, if I had to pick an absolute favorite Genshin character, it's so SO close between Shenhe and Ei.. Like, Shenhe 100% fav and Ei 99.99% but they'd otherwise share the #1 spot. ANYWAYS, have a good one!
