Hi, hope you are well! I just saw one of your Daily Prophet edits, and wanted to say they are amazing, i just fell in love with them! Can i ask how do you do them?
Oof, there's a lot that goes into them, but if you're willing to sit through this, I will gladly tell you:
First, you make your headlines, or general stories that would make the paper during whichever era you're making The Prophet for. This will help you with whatever gifs to include.
Second, make your gifs. Crop some in a circular frame, I found that The Daily Prophet likes using circles (i.e. they did it once, and now I take it as law). Make sure all your gifs are the same length, and put them in black and white.
Third, find wizarding world advertisements to add to your paper for ✨realism✨. I found all of mine on Google.
Fourth, start out with an entirely blank page, and slowly but surely mess around with headline placement and size, and accompanying gifs. I don't have a template or anything, because I want every new paper to look different from the others.
Fonts I use for headlines: Impact, and Cambria.
For articles: Baskerville Old Face.
There's no set size, some articles are just a small column on the side, and others are these larger-than-life spreads.
Fifth, you don't have to, but I find that it's fun to include a poll based on whoever the paper is about, or any major current events. I used an equalizer stock gif I found during a brief Google search and just rotated it to look like a voting poll.
Lastly, I do the articles. It takes a lot of maneuvering the writing around a circular gif, which is what probably takes most of my time. I sometimes wonder if people even read the articles, and if it would just be easier to keyboard smash to make it look like writing, but I actually quite enjoy being Rita Skeeter 😊
Just always remember: The Daily Prophet is chaotic af, it never hurts to look at reference pictures of other Daily Prophet papers, and that when it comes to this paper? More is more!
I hope this helped you, let me know if you have anymore questions!
