had the loveliest conversation with my mom the other day, about the significance of the natural hair movement among black women. and i shared with her my fondness of her decision to rock her fro. and i imagined the time when she might have done some things in the name of freedom. you know, those black radicals in the 60s & 70s, doing sit-ins and burning buildings and shit. and i thought about the contention and objection she got and the ??? i'm now getting as i'm standing black, soul. and i thought to myself, "who cares if people listen to what i say, let them watch how i roll."
