Glowering, warped post-punk melodrama from the borderlands, LOVERS OPEN FIRE follow heroes The Velvets, Nick Cave, Echo and The Bunnymen and Captain Beefheart down some lurid nocturnal corridors, with a totally wired frontman howling over bleeding, barbed-wire fuzz guitars and all-or-nothing drums that sound like they're coming after you down the street.
