i want to be good. and do good. and be nice to people. and make people happy. and have good and healthy relationships with people. i want to learn to forgive and i want to understand other people. i want to be loved and adored and i want to love and adore

Reblogging right now because Iâm having a random anxiety attack and figured someone else might need soothing too.
Cheetahs are one of my favorite animals, and they have anxiety too! They get spooked pretty easily and actually are often given therapy dogs in order to help them with their anxiety.
Theyâre very sweet; they just have big claws and big teeth. Theyâre really loving when in groups and habitually do social grooming for hours and hours. Theyâre a lovely animal. :3Â To hear them purr is a pure delight.

i'm white. does that make me bad?
yea
Why do white people ask questions like this? Whenever I get this question, or the thematically similar âDo you hate white peopleâ I just answer with âyesâ.
Because thatâs the only answer they want to hear.
In context, it makes sense. To a lot of white people, being black IS bad. You can see this evident when a white person tells a black person that theyâre âone of the good ones.â
Whites allow for nuances in character for their own race. Rarely are white people grouped into âgoodâ and âbadâ categories. You can be a white person who is mostly good, then makes a terrible, terrible decision, but your lifetime of goodness mitigates that bad decision. In other words, white people accept that other white people are complicated and people are the sum of their choices, not merely a reflection of a âgoodâ or âbadâ moment.
But Whites LOVE to categorize Blacks as âgoodâ and âbad.â You just have to look at the coverage of Trayvon Martin to see that the fact that he was arrested for smoking pot clearly put him in the âbadâ camp right away. After that, Martinâs death was framed as him being the âbadâ guy and Zimmerman was helpless but to defend himself.
So, when white people ask âIâm white. Does that make me bad?â what they are REALLY saying is, âIâm white. Are you going to hold me to same simplistic, binary judgement system I hold you to?â
Bolding for truth
^^^Everything that atchka so eloquently saidâŚ
Commentary is spot on.
I hate when someone LGBT+ has homo- and transphobic parents and people are like âbut!! try to see it from their point of view!! it must be so hard for them!! Itâs only natural to react like this!! just think about what theyâre going through!!â Like fuck you Iâm not going to feel bad for people who put their own narrow minded beliefs over the wellbeing of their own child. I donât fucking care about their point of view. If you have such a hard time opening up your mind maybe thereâs something wrong with you, not with your child.
so, I wanna address something.
I feel like a lot of people arenât sure how to deal with people who are psychotic who experience delusions and hallucinations, and donât know that those delusions or hallucinations arenât real.
so hereâs what I, a psychotic, find most helpful when Iâm having a psychotic episode. note that this is geared towards delusions or hallucinations that are frightening the person, not delusions of grandeur and the like.
donât tell me itâs not real. telling me itâs not real isnât helpfulâmy mind is utterly convinced that this hallucination or delusion is real. telling me itâs not will result in, best case scenario, a lot of frustration for you, and in worst case scenario, me freaking out even more and potentially trying to hurt myself.
donât reinforce the delusions. agreeing thereâs a demon in the house or telling me what I need to do to get rid of it is reinforcing the delusion and giving it power, not helping it to go away. donât play into the delusion eitherâdonât insert yourself and insist you have magical powers to vanquish the demon, for instance. this will not help. it is my delusion or hallucination, and you do not control it, and trying to is not going to help in the slightest.
ask me what I need to do to feel better. âwhat would help you to feel better right now?â if I know, Iâll tell you. it might be something ridiculous thatâs going to take a lot of cleanup, like pouring salt on the carpet in front of my doorway. let me do it anyway. I need to do it in order to make myself feel better and safe, which is the primary goal in helping someone whoâs undergoing a psychotic episode.
if I donât know what will help, try and just tell me that Iâm safe, and that nothing can hurt me while youâre with me. this usually works for me. it may not work for others, but itâs always worth a shot. if you have permission, try touching the person or holding their hand, as this can be a way of grounding them to reality.
if you can and are willing, help me do the thing I think is necessary to stop the monster or whatever from getting me. if I need to salt every doorway in the house, grab some salt and start pouring. yes, itâs going to take a while to clean up, but itâs better than me hurting myself or being paranoid and upset for hours on end.
thatâs all that I can really suggest right now. if anyone wants to reblog and add to this, ways that theyâve helped psychotic friends or things that theyâve been told by a psychotic person will help, or things that you as a psychotic person find helpful, please feel free.
I meant to make a longer post on this the day before but anyway. That QPOC flag post thatâs going around honestly, in itself isnât an issue, but itâs counterproductive to what itâs trying to accomplish. The flag uses the black power symbol and then the OP goes on to talk about how they want to unit QPOC (queer people of colour) and it seems really inappropriate to use the black power symbol and say âfor POCâ.
I think at this point everyone knows but there will never be unity between nonblack poc and blacks because black people are always on the bottom and experience a lot of antiblackness within the LGBT community from white people AND nonblack poc. I understand the sentiment behind the flag but until there are changes in the community, there will never be a uniting force for QPOC because black people will somehow, STILL be on the bottom and STILL be thought of last.
It seems like nonblack poc are looking for a reason to find a bridge to connect with each other communities but in the process, are being disrespectful and antiblack towardsâŚwell, black people! The post itself was made by a black person so that explains why a black person would use that but regardless, to reblog that post without criticism as a nonblack poc just looks foolish at this point. When using symbols of black pride and black resistance, you canât say its for POC.
Like I stated before, Iâm not going to shit myself over the flag but ultimately seems almost disrespectful and plain stupid to see nonblacks reblogging it without criticism. I understand ignorance but if nonblacks canât second guess on why thatâd be inappropriate then that proves why we werenât ready for âPOC unityâ or whatever yâall wanna call it to make yâall feel better about your internalized racism. ESPECIALLY in the LGBT community.
I absolutely did not type 4 paragraphs for you nonblack poc to pretend you donât see this so stop being a pussy and acknowledge this, your antiblackness for ignoring this and reblog it.
