Lunchtime Chat~

Mayuyu was eating her lunch by herself, since Yukirin had left early for practice. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she caught Myao entering the lunchroom, and called out to her. “Hey Myao, why don’t you sit here with me?”

Myao had more or less planned on eating lunch alone today, as Lovetan was busy again, but it wasn't anything new- sometimes they split up to do their own thing for the day, and would meet up again later. They were roommates, after all, so it wasn't like Myao never saw Lovetan. Hearing Mayu call out to her, though, Myao glanced over, surprised. Mayu and Yukirin normally ate together like her and Lovetan, but it looked like they both were alone today. "Oh, sure," she said, finding no reason not to, and went over to where Mayu was sitting.

When people look at me funny when I say Myao has one of my favorite singing voices in AKB, I just want to throw things like this in their faces.

Chieri winced, forgetting about Myao’s rank. “Well, these new concerts have had a lot more shuffles and different songs to try. People are sure to start seeing us in a different light.” She tested her words carefully, trying to cheer Myao up but not trying to single her out either.

"Though, all these concerts are a bit exhausting, aren’t they? Even though I’m centre nova, I still don’t quite have the stamina of a successor yet."

"They are," Myao agreed, nodding, "The Retrostar concert was pretty intense- and we've got another concert coming up soon, too, don't we?"

Concert after concert after concert- but that was part of being an idol, now wasn't it?

"Ah, I see." It seemed everyone was so busynowadays. “Hey, we’re all busy lately, right? Do you think that means 00 is getting more popular? That bans on other planets might soon be lifted?”

It was perhaps a bit naive to think so, but it was their goal, so there was no harm in asking.

"I don't know about the bans being lifted soon, but it does look like we've gotten more popular," Myao said, shrugging, "Well, I guess you guys are, anyway- I ranked pretty much near the bottom in the elections."

"But then, I mean, on the other hand, we've been performing a lot more these days, so I guess that's got to count for something, right?"

Talking Over Dinner

It was late but Chieri had been practicing slightly longer into the night, having other commitments like photo shoots and interviews in the morning. Most people had already eaten dinner, so she was expecting to have the kitchen to herself. She was slightly shocked when she found Myao in there.

"How have you been, Myao-san?"

Myao had spent the day out in town, but had only stopped for lunch, so she had missed dinner, as she usually did back when she practiced so much. Usually, Lovetan would have saved some food for her, but Myao knew better than to test her luck, which was why she was in the kitchen when Chieri found her.

"I've been okay," she said, shrugging, "I stayed out too late today, so I missed getting dinner."

Happy birthday to Myao?

Another year older, huh? How old was she now- 18? She'd caught up with Paruru and Lovetan now, if she was getting her ages right- Myao had joined a year early, rather than wait for the 74th generation kenkyuusei auditions- had lied about her birthdate when auditioning. They had found out, of course, but by then she was already on Akibastar, unwilling to return to Shibuyastar just to return next year. Why go all the way back home when she had come all the way here, passed the selection round, and made it through the combat round?

Tsubasa-san hadn't exactly been the most amused at being lied to, but Myao, then Noriko, had stood her ground, and won the right to stay on as a 73rd generation kenkyuusei, along with who would eventually be Lovetan the 12th.

For a moment, Myao wondered if anyone would be celebrating her birthday with her- her family was back home in Shibuyastar- but then she remembered that the concert challenge was tomorrow. Truth be told, she was nervous about performing alongside Tsubasa, former successor or not, but she could only hope that she wouldn't mess up.

"... Guess I better get practicing soon," Myao told herself, remembering she had been putting it off all day.
