ANDREIL HEADCANONS PART 2
Neil and Andrew don't argue often, but when they do it's something big. And this time it wasn't different.
It started after night practice and Kevin decided to keep his mouth shut and his eyes close in order to ignore everything they were doing. If it affected the court, it was his business, but apart from that he was going to be as far away as possible.
Neither are particularly fond of screaming matches, their complicated childhoods would never allowed that (Plus, Andrew knows Nathan used to screamed at Mary, he won't go down that road with Neil) so their approach is a silent treatment.
Neil and Andrew spent time apart that week, careful to calm down before seeing each other again because hurting the other is never an option; Neil broke down the walls first, going up to the roof with Andrew's favorite coffee in hand.
They sit in silence, Neil's peace offering lying between them.
"It was raining" Andrew mutters. Neil understands what he means. You could have gotten sick, you could've gotten hurt.
"I needed a run" Neil answers, and he knows Andrew understands him too. I wanted to give you space and time.
Andrew comes closer slowly, a quiet aproachment they've develop now that they are past Yes or no. Neil nods and Andrew takes his cold hands, rubbing them. "Your scars hurt when they're cold, Junkie"
Neil smiles, resting his head on Andrew's shoulder; Andrew hums, and shivers when Neil places a kiss on his neck. Neil can't even remember why they fought in the first place, the only thing that matters is finally being back where home is.
"You call me the next time to pick you up, Yes or no?"
"Especially after a fight."
Neil smiles, placing another kiss on the blond's neck and grinning when Andrew sighs "Yes. Don't close off if we argue again, Yes or no?"
Andrew ghosts his fingertips on Neil's lower back, clear retribution to the ministrations on his neck "I talked with Bee after it happened" Neil listens closely "I'm not used to this Neil. When things got hard, people just leave"
Neil can see various unfamiliar faces throwing a young Andrew away after taking and taking "Hey, I'm not planning on leaving" He says, sitting straight and looking at him in the eye.
"The rabbit is setting down?"
"Maybe I'm more of a bunny now"
Neil can see the way Andrew's eyes darken, the use of such and intimate petname still new and precious between them.
"I mean it" He says, carefully "I'm not going anywhere."
"I know that" Andrew stays silent for a while and Neil gives him as much time as he needs to clear his thoughts "I'm going to let you know the next time why it angered me, but I might need time alone afterwards."
Neil knows why. They both can be hot tempered and say something they will never mean. He nods.
Andrew takes a sip of his coffee and Neil shivers from the cold and humid rain that was left from the cold. Andrew notices, as he always does.
"You know, Kevin is staying with Wymack today" Andrew says, taking another sip from his coffee.
"Really? And why do you tell me that?"
"I need to make sure you don't catch a cold. Body heat tends to work."
Neil flushes and Andrew helps him stand up. And if the both of them look awfully relaxed the next day at practice, well, it's just their thing and only theirs to know.
