I am so happy to be back on here. This site holds so many good memories of my teenage years and using it again is healing me in ways I never thought I needed.

Book Review: The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas fils
"Women sometimes allow you to be unfaithful to their love; they never allow you to wound their self-esteem." - Alexandre Dumas fils
If you are someone that enjoys a reading a book that will evoke raw emotion, I highly recommend picking this one up. The story is absolutely beautiful but heartbreaking as it describes a love affair between a complex woman with a lavish lifestyle and a man who adores her. If you are anything like me you will fall in love with the narrator and appreciate each character.
The main themes in this tale are love, hypocrisy and sacrifice. The reader also gets a glimpse into 19th-century French society.
It's been two years since my first read of this book and I still think about it. As a tough critic, I rated it a 5/5 and would recommend it to anyone. You can get the translated copy that I read here on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4792d5x
