You got back home from work tired. All you wanted was a bath, glass of wine and sleep. Jakub could see your tired face and felt bad for wanting to go out with you to a restaurant.
“I’ll get change and we can go” You said and slowly started walking towards the bedroom. Your legs were giving up on you.
“We’re not going anywhere” Jakub told you.
“But the restaurant?” You looked at him confused.
“Forget about it. We can make a date here” Jakub kissed your forehead. “i’ll take care of everything.
You smiled, happy that you can change into something more comfortable rather than dress. You laid in your bath and felt the stress leaving your body. In the meanwhile, Jakub cancelled the restaurant and set everything ready in the bedroom. He ordered your favorite food and placed a whole bottle of wine near the bed.
“What’s your plan?” You asked when you finally left the bathroom.
“Horror marathon” Jakub said with fake excitement.
“But you hate them” You laughed.
“But you love them and I’m willing to suffer for you” Jakub looked at you. “Now get here and cuddle me before I freak out”
GABE PERREAULT
Lately, you’ve been spending your free time on coloring. You got a coloring book for your birthday and have been obsessed since then. Gabe noticed it. He saw how you were always making yourself a cup of tea and spread all your crayons on the coffee table.
“I want to be involved in this” Gabe said out of the blue.
“What?” You asked him.
“I have an idea” Gabe said and grabbed his car keys. Without more explanations, he left the apartment.
You looked at the door confused. You didn’t know what to say or what to do. You just shrugged and returned to your coloring book. 30 minutes later, Gabe walked into the apartment with a bag full of things.
“When I said I want to be involved” Gabe placed the bag next to you. “I meant let’s have a coloring date and that’s why” He pulled out a new coloring book. “I bought this coloring book with a halloween theme. There’s a lot of vampire motive”
“That’s so cool. I love this book” You looked at him. “But how do you want to do it?”
“I was thinking about ripping a page of the book and cutting it in half so one half I color and the other you” Gabe proposed.
“We can later tape them together and have an album with our work” You were buzzing with excitement.
“Exactly” Gabe smiled. “I also bought more crayons” He threw plenty of packages out of the bag.
“Let’s get it settled on the table” You smiled.
“You’re a lady so I’ll let you pick the first page” Gabe kissed your cheek.
MATT REMPE
It was a boring day. You and Matt haven’t done anything special. For the past two hours you’ve been laying on the couch with a movie playing in the background.
“I have an idea” Matt said.
“Hmm?” You looked at him.
“Let’s make a date night” Matt proposed.
“I’m not in the mood for dressing up” You sighed.
“I have a better idea” Matt ran his hand through your hair. “How about we’ll go to the store and buy board games? We can spend the whole evening playing”
“I like it” You sat down, excited about the idea. “We should buy snacks and drinks too”
“Get your pretty ass up, we're going shopping” Matt turned the tv off and grabbed his car keys.
The next hour, you and Matt spent on shopping. You bought every board game that caught your eye and more snacks than needed. After you got back home, you threw blankets on the ground and set the coffee table to place the first board game. You spend the rest of the night like that in between arguing about the game rules.
JURAJ SLAFKOVSKY
It was a game day. Juraj’s car was still in repairs so he drove with his teammate. Meanwhile you were getting ready to go to the metro which you adored. You didn’t have your driving license because you were scared of driving.
“Congrats on the hattrick baby” You hugged Juraj.
“Couldn’t do it without you but why is your hat still on?” Juraj asked and you laughed.
“Wait” You said. You took your hat off and threw it at him. “Better?”
“Way better” Juraj kissed you.
“Are you coming?” Ivan asked Juraj. He was driving him on and off the rink.
“I’m good, thanks” Juraj replied and you looked at him. “We’re going on a date” He looked at you when he saw the confusion on your face.
“What?” You asked him.
“We live pretty close from here. We can walk back home” Juraj started. “Your hand in my hand” He took your hand in his. “Just enjoy each other’s company”
“Let’s do it” You smiled. “I like the date idea. No rush, just the two of us”
“Only the best for you” Juraj kissed the top of your head.
ARBER XHEKAJ
The whole day Arber spent in the garage. He was doing something with the car when you were sitting at home and writing an essay. Around 6pm, he got back home and searched for you.
“There you are” Arber said when he walked into the guest room. “Grab the blankets and hoodie, we’re going on a date”
“Like now?” You panicked.
“Yes, let’s go” Arber rushed you.
You grabbed his hoodie from the shelf and one blanket. You followed Arber who closed the door behind you and led you to the car. He put your favorite playlist on and has been driving. You didn’t know where he’s going. When he parked, you saw that you're near the beach.
“Stay here okay” Arber asked you and you just nodded.
Arber grabbed the blanket from the backseat and a basket from the trunk. You were watching him from the car but soon he disappeared. You were wondering what he’s planning until he knocked on the window as a signal to leave the car.
“What are you planning?” You asked him but he didn’t say a word.
“You’ll see” Arber said with a smile.
“No way” You gasped when you saw the blanket full of fruits and your favorite candy.
“You were always saying that you wanted a date on the beach so I made it for you” Arber said with pride.
“I love you” You kissed him. “But no drinks?”
“Silly” Arber chuckled and pulled a can of your favorite soda from his pocket. “I’m prepared” He handed you the drink. “Now, let’s sit down and enjoy the evening”

⊹ ࣪ ˖ ໒꒱ dedicated to the lovely @sweetdispatch for our one year anniversary!!! a special day meant a special fic, so i had to branch out n finally write something for doby, especially considering how much we've been talking about him lately😽
IT STILL HASN’T QUITE SUNK IN. sometimes, it doesn’t feel fully real. jakub’s half convinced that he’ll wake up one morning and discover that all of the cheers, the chants of his name and the countless jerseys bearing the number ‘75’ on their sleeves littering the stands were some long, hyperrealistic dream.
the dedication of the fans, and their unabridged passion towards the game, it all speaks to jakub, because he knows exactly how they feel. how many times has he been told that he’s too emotional? though you try to steer him away from social media after harder games, it’s impossible for him to avoid seeing the tweets, and the comments, making fun of how much of himself he puts into every single game.
you, however, always celebrate that part of him. it’s admirable to you, to watch how much passion your boyfriend pours into every single move he makes on the ice, and you make your pride known to him every single day.
so, when asked how he’s going to celebrate the big win, jakub merely grins lopsidedly, shrugging his shoulders as though the answer has been obvious all along.
“nothing fancy. i will go home. or, to my girlfriend’s. i like to see her after games. we will probably just eat, go to sleep. but, i like that. best part of my day.”
later, that clip comes across your timeline on instagram. teasing him, you hold the phone an inch away from his face and coo over how sappy he is, how deeply in love with you he must be. even though he rolls his eyes and swats at your phone, he never makes an effort to deny your words.
he’d only spoken the truth, after all.
very little can compare to the atmosphere of a home game, but jakub feels truly at home when he steps foot into your tiny apartment. there’s a little piece of you everywhere he looks, from your pile of shoes at the door to the coffee table strewn with your latest and previous reads.
each step he takes causes him to relax further, and he softens when he finds you in the kitchen, humming along to an upbeat pop song and kneading some sort of sweet scented dough. dinner sits in the bottom of the oven, keeping warm, and the whole scene is so domestic it makes his heart jump.
no matter what happens out there on the ice, it’s all worth it when jakub comes home to this, to you.
not wanting to startle you, he tries to make his presence known by dropping his keys onto the counter, the jingling sound barely audible over the vocals of zara larsson. keeping his voice soft, jakub tries another approach.
“hey,” he says gently, tapping your shoulder as though you’re fragile glass, susceptible to breaking if not handled with utmost care. “i’m back.”
an excited squeal meets his ears, and jakub has never been more grateful for his fast goalie reflexes when you launch yourself at him, arms flinging around his neck like you haven’t seen him in days.
in this moment, jakub doesn’t even care about the sticky dough clinging to your fingers. instead, he merely laughs, burying his face into your hair before brushing a kiss to your crown, smoothing down some of the fly away strands.
“wow,” he grins, boyish and charming. “that is quite the reaction.”
unashamed, you free him from your grips for long enough to fumble with your phone, trying to blindly jab at the device and cut the music.
“are you kidding? i watched the game. you deserve it.”
the words leave you effortlessly, and that fact is enough to make warmth bloom behind jakub’s ribs. it’s the way you never have to think about it, when you praise him, how your affection seems to slip from your lips like honey, coating him in their golden, syrupy sweetness. like loving him is natural, something you were destined for.
“i was just doing my job,” he tries, but you cut him off, affectionately hip-checking him as you move over to the sink to properly wash your hands.
“boo, don’t play humble. you were fucking insane out there, and you know it. you’re, like, jesus to these people now.”
hands clean, you pad back over to your boyfriend, stretching up to cup his face in your palms and squish his cheeks a touch. despite the playful gesture, your tone turns softer, as though you’re disclosing a secret.
“i always tell you how incredible you are. ‘m so glad everyone else is seeing it, too.”
jakub’s eyes soften, his lashes fluttering a touch, but before he can respond, you’ve pressed a kiss to his puffed out lips, then another, then another. suddenly, little pecks are raining all over his face, kisses hitting anywhere you can reach, from his nose to his scruffy jaw.
it’s an effort to gloss over the quick moment of sappiness, but it’s so silly, so perfectly you, that jakub lets himself melt into it rather than attempting to break free.
only when you feel you’ve sufficiently showered him in enough affection do you let him go, patting his cheek twice.
“okay,” you start, and jakub tunes in, already prepared to follow whatever plan you’re about to lay out. “i’m gonna wrap this cookie dough up and put it in the refrigerator. you go change into something comfy, i’ll plate dinner up, and i’ll meet you on the couch.”
jakub mockingly salutes you and squeezes your hips in confirmation, pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead.
“this is why i love you,” he says, and his smile is audible in his confession.
“only the best for the best,” you respond, and pat his chest. “now go. dinner in five!”
and maybe other players prefer to celebrate with fancy, extravagant dinners or rowdy nights out, but jakub would never trade his post game traditions with you for the world.
happy one year anniversary to me and @lovings4turn !!! a whole year with you was a pure blessing and i truly cannot imagine my life without you in it. you're the sweetest girl i ever met and i don't know what i'd do without you. thank you also to laval for bringing me to you and maybe they're constant disappointment but you're a constant happiness. i love you like crazy babe!!!!
