She sat up, trying to smooth down her riotous curls. The thought came to her that maybe she should cover herself somehow. But that was silly. Tyrion was walking around without a scrap of clothing on and seemed comfortable. She need not worry like that when it was just the two of them.
âA proper toast, yes,â she agreed, raising her glass and tapping it to his. A sip or two would be fine, and would sooth her throat, rough as it was from the screams of delight and passion.
âTo us, my lord husband, Lord Lannister. May the coming years bring even more happiness and joy to us.â
The way he brought the cake to her lips was almost playful. As she nibbled on the sweet treat, she smiled and winked at him before lifting a slice and giving him the same opportunity. There was a sense of ease with him that she enjoyed. Nothing felt awkward now. He clearly was happy with her. And she felt joy being his bride.

His father and Jaime had unwittingly made him a rather excellent match.
âI have always thought that a strong dynasty begins with a strong marriage,â he said between feeding her bites of cake.
âComing home to a warm bed and a pair of loving arms to hold us at night sounds like an excellent start. And when our child comes along ...â
He let his hand wander to the slight roundness of her belly.
âHe will grow better in the knowledge that he is loved and wanted and that his parents care enough to spend their time together.â
âCasterly Rock is a large castle indeed by any standard. There is much work for its lady, much of which has gone un-done since my mother died. Maesters and helpers and advisors have done their best, but my father has cared little.â
âI think the Westerlands are in dire need of a womanâs touch.â
