"𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐈 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆?" Leonie asks, stepping into the lounge and archival section of her practice. The back rooms are for treatment, medical suites, even a space equipped for a surgery (though human need not know this). Leonie puts a smile on her face, and hopes it’s a welcoming one. “I take walk-ins for consultations, so don’t worry about an appointment.” She shrugs, rocking back on her feet. She could do anything from provide textual help, or a full physical workup, the opportunities are endless.

"𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈'𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐄𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐈𝐒 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒,” she says seriously has she pulls books out of boxes she had had brought to Estonia for The Harvest. “I don’t get a lot of... of publicity, and I want to reach as many people as I can, especially where medical care is scarce.” She knows Ben would be able to see past the surface of that statement, because as much as it was true, she also wanted to expand her knowledge, come into contact with more species, fill in more physiology guides for her research. “I’m not going to get an opportunity like this for another thousand years.”

𝑽𝑰𝑹𝑮𝑰𝑵𝑰𝑨 𝑪𝑰𝑻𝒀, 𝑵𝑬𝑽𝑨𝑫𝑨. moonshiners was busy most friday nights, however, a rough storm failed to bring in the crowds. serena had done her best as a hostess, surely, distracting herself from the troubles back home in estonia. every day she moved closer to forgiving herself for what happened to ivan ( her mortal lover )
looking towards the same booth she always did, a smile peeked on her lips. moving towards the rustic looking booth her eyes peeked to the vicious rain bouncing off the windows.
❛ ——— you study on friday nights? that’s not so fun. ❜ her accent was bubbly and her tone could bounce off the walls. ❛ he’s not here. ❜ she says softly. not that she expected the other to leave at that very moment. serena had watched caleb and robin from afar, his embarrassing slip ups and her soft glances.

Robin jokes that her GPA wouldn’t be as strong without this place.
She would be lying if she didn’t also like the owner. Caleb Ochoa is easy on the eyes and he’s been very kind to her since she started coming here to study and eat and be among a supernatural crowd. Robin would be here no matter the day, hell she likes it better here than her little apartment. Better ambiance.
“I guess it depends on your idea of fun! I find all of this fascinating." Robin replies with a laugh, eating a potato wedge and giving the hostess (Serena as she recalls from her name card) a cheeky smile. “I’m the youngest in my program, and I’m trying to be fast-tracked through because I’ve exceeded qualifications.” She doesn’t say it to brag. Robin has had her nose in medical texts since she was a child, and received her GED a week shy from her sixteenth birthday. She’s already done an intensive vet tech program before jumping ship to medical school to get into surgery.
Robin tries not to pout when Serena tells her Caleb isn’t here. “Aw, and where is the big boss man tonight? I’m missing him asking for magical consultations on my between-chapter breaks.”

Season 1 | Episode 1 | 001 | Vegas & Leonie
Vegas’ hand hovered over the expanse of books in front of her, features laced with awe and fascination. When she had heard about the new practice opening nearby, she couldn’t help but be drawn to the prospect of acquiring new information for her own collection of medical tomes, texts, and encyclopedias. Her medical education had been interrupted when she had been turned, making it nearly impossible for her to be around injured humans without fear of harming them due to her newfound strength and hunger. Vegas had spent a great deal of time studying from home, trying to finish her studies with an added interest in the supernatural. After all, she had learned how to be a vampire from a werewolf–she needed all the help she could get. While she hadn’t felt great about compelling the humans into letting her shit for her tests, she had gotten her first certificate the right way and she had never been prouder. In fact, she still had the certificate preserved in her home.
After spending over a century in and out of both human and supernatural-run clinics, the vampire had granted herself a hiatus of sorts, challenging herself to pursue something new. However, her first love had always been nursing, and it was only right that she continued her education and kept up with new information and technologies for her inevitable return to the medical field. Vegas found herself practically salivating over the collection of Leo Duhaime’s works in the practice’s waiting room–some she hadn’t even known existed until that moment. Duhaime had changed her life when she first started learning about the supernatural, giving her something to be excited about when she was first coming to terms with immortality. She had been so caught up in her discovery that she hadn’t even realized someone had been trying to address her.
“I’m sorry–what was that?”
@lowgloried
Leonie had easily acquired and refurbished a office space for her practice, making use of her good friend Robin Ochoa to place charms on the outer door so that the supernatural community would know this to be a place of healing (as well as security charms, one could never be too careful).
She has always enjoyed seeing people engrossed in her bookshelves of medical manuals of many disciplines; Leonie has studies many areas of medicine, both human and supernatural, and all of these had homes on her shelves. Which is why she now holds onto her patience with a small smile on her face watching the other woman take in her books with apt attention.
"I asked if you were familiar with the author,” Leonie repeats, motioning at the bookshelf. “You seemed very excited when you saw them.” She has been standing in the doorway for a few minutes, to see if the blonde would notice her (she was waiting after all, Leonie assumes, to see her). “Is there anything I can do for you today?”

as old as the universe and benjamin’s only ever seen the kind of wound robin had that night once. it was the epitome of a BLACK HOLE, absorbing all light he put out of his hands. void. this magic was powerful, enough to make the angel doubt himself for just a moment. it took longer than he’d like to completely heal the wound ( and she was out like a light for a couple of days ), but he’d gotten the job done.
he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t thinking about what she’d just said. that it might come back. might. that his powers weren’t strong enough, but they were foolish thoughts. human thoughts. anxiety he shouldn’t even have. he stops pacing back and forth. takes his nail out of his mouth and lets out a sigh. “ it’s not. and even if it does, i’ll close it again. it was a one time thing. ”
a one time scar that looks like a very dark birthmark. but everything’s working fine. he doesn’t sense any abnormalities in her body save for the extra energy that ran through her veins. the mark wasn’t something he could get rid of, however. it was concerning, but perhaps it was just a sign that such magic shouldn’t be used lightly. “ you know being immortal doesn’t save you from being hurt, right ? ”

Whether it be excitement or nervousness Robin cannot tell, and ultimately must categorize it as new territory to re-examine later. The fact that she’d said it out loud though, is enough of a testament to how much this scared her. Succeeding was one thing, but success that required intervention of the divine was something else.
Robin runs a finger over her scar, lightly, knowing it’s slight curve, by heart even though it has only been with her for three days. “I hope you’re right,” she says, but when she looks at him she wonders over the doubt in his eyes. “I’m glad you were there, I know I’ve thanked you already, but... I have no idea how that would have gone if Leonie hadn’t reached out.”
She’s appeasing Caleb, resting in bed for a few days, though she itches to return to her work-- what work she can do now that her human patients are gone-- new work to keep people healthy and sane. She would be closer now, taking a room at Leonie’s practice. Temporary, temporary. How long can she tell herself this is temporary before it’s pure denial?
At Ben’s words Robin frowns. “Sure it does. That was part of my ritual,” she replies. “I covered my bases, magic certainly begs to be specific.” She turns, tugging her blanket more securely around her legs, crossed on the bed where she’s sitting. “I sought the same natural invulnerability has my husband and his kind. But I haven’t... tested it yet. I’ve scared him pretty badly with the... void wound.”

The other woman’s touch set chills down Sunny’s spine. It was gentle and inviting, something Sunny needed right now. “It’s not that I’m uncomfortable,” she rambled, biting her bottom lip. “Growing up people were mean about my background so I just… took on a nickname in hopes they’d be less horrible.” Although she wasn’t uncomfortable with her name, Hall’s words made any doubts about herself melt away. “I just needed to get out. I’ve been working and studying almost all hours of the day, I thought even if I met a few friends here it’d be a win.” She hoped it wasn’t too obvious she was avoiding her last question. If Sunny was being honest she wasn’t overly sure what it was she liked. Of course, she’d had sex, she was an escort at one point, but none of that pleasure was directed towards her ─ she was just a toy to them.

Hall looks her over again, for a third time, wondering what might keep a girl like this from opening up. It was not her place to pry, merely her intention to cast any unsavoury experiences to the wind, overwhelm her lovers with rich experiences and the attention they deserve. “You sound like a hard worker, Marisol,” Hall says, “I hear friends sometimes help you learn new things... I’m wondering if you’d like me, to help you figure out what you like, since you seem a little uncertain.”

The wolf nods at the mage’s words, inhaling the nicotine from his cigarette and exhaling the smoke. He was never much for science, he was a lawyer focused on vigilante justice, but he trusted Robin’s words. After all, living in darkness during his fighting days really fucked him up. “Makes sense. Sun gives off vitamins and shit.” He flicked the ash off his cigarette, offering the mage a smile. “Yes, my lovely wife. Poor thing has been ghastly pale since I met her. I’ll have to have her stop by sometime to make sure she doesn’t turn into a ghost or something. I fear she might become translucent,” he jokes.
𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐈𝐍 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐌 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄, nodding in agreement. “Yes, vitamin D. And as for how it affects your sleep, hormones in your body tend to shift by how much light you’re getting.” She has had to make several tinctures to ensure that no one was suffering the ill effects of no sunlight, and she’d have to speak to Serena about selling some in her shop. A grin plays at her lips. “You’re pulling my leg,” she laughs lightly. “But do get in touch if you need anything, I’m working out of Dr. Duhaime’s office since... well since the humans disappeared.” She sighs. “I’m Robin. Doctor Ochoa, Caleb Ochoa is my husband.”

It had been a while since Asmodeus had a quicky in public. He was a people pleaser and had been taking his time to care for his partners. The demon let out a quiet groan against Hall’s lips, surprised by the sudden gesture but only for a moment. His grip on her tightened slightly, forehead pressed against hers when they pulled away. The gears in his head began turning, golden eyes searching for somewhere the pair could get in a quick fuck. Asmodeus was no stranger to such public affairs but finding a location that would be comfortable for both party members was important to him. “Why don’t we make our way to a love seat, yeah?”

With that in mind, she relinquishes her hold on him, seeking instead to look a finger through one of the various straps of leather he has on en lieu of a shirt. It seems befitting, and she could never disagree that Asmodeus never looked under dressed for anything. “Remind me to invite you over sometime soon” she says, quietly and just for him. “I have a feeling this little romp will make me want you to throw me around properly.”

hebe felt the sudden surge of energy before she picked up on anything else , but she was drawn to it like a moth to flame. she was out walking her familiar , an aardwolf hyena named esperanza , and the wise shadow graced animal was quick to pick up on the overwhelming burst of energy that had the air around them practically vibrating. the two of them took off at an equally inhuman speed in the direction of the source only to be suddenly tossed backwards like a rag doll and stunned into immobility briefly.
it had been a long time since the goddess had actually come across anyone that could cause her any real damage , much less toss her several feet into the street and render her virtually brain dead for several moments. she hit the ground hard , her skin getting scraped in the process yet almost immediately healing , and remained where she landed as she processed what was happening. her eyes flashed gold as she focused in on the vampire equivalent of a nuclear reactor several feet away , a genuine look of horror on her face as she watched her agony.
the screams were gut wrenching , the electric warbling and crackling white hot pain against her ear drums , but after a few moments of taking in all of the woman’s distress she finally sprung into action when she heard the other’s strangled pleas for help. it was certainly one of the more difficult tasks she’d ever been put to, but hebe fought her way through what was something of a barrier created by the electricity swirling around the other.
the goddess’ eyes reflected the sparks flying around them and even though she was definitely being hit the sting only drove her to push harder. upon getting close enough to tackle the vampire hebe didn’t even think about it , she lunged forward and wrapped her arms tightly around the girl. as the goddess of youth she is capable of not only fully healing most species , she is also able to retract or absorb their energy and life force as well as an area which is her first plan and attempt to help the over charged vampire quite literally short circuiting on the sidewalk.

All she sees is their glow, their life force, and that is what she sees now when the other woman approaches. Lily is too far gone to differentiate between energies, half-blinded by the flickering of her own overcharge body, the spasms of electricity coursing through her in her state of distress. She wants help, she needs help, but she would rather die than hurt someone by accident, and she thinks she has when she sees the woman get thrown.
“No!” she screams, clutching at herself as she chokes out more sobs. Lily staggers a few feet back, looking on in horror until the woman gets up. “Get away!” she screams again, body going tense as another wave of shocks spasms though her. “You’ll be hurt!” she cries, blinded by her tears and the flickering behind her eyes.
What she doesn’t expect is to be tackled, a clipped scream leaving her raw throat as she hits the ground with a weight that would surely bruise later. Lily is sobbing, throat hardly letting her get in a proper staggered breath, but the woman who’d jumped on her, Lily can feel that woman’s arm around her, and whatever she doesn, whatever she is, with a final overwhelming crackle in the cold night air, the surge begins to calm.
“I can’t breathe!” Lily gasps, still hyperventilating and crying, now against the hard wet ground, a moan of despair leaving her throat and a forceful fit of coughing. Lily clutches at her throat and her ribs, caught in the memory of the injuries he’d given her. She is still distraught, but now the powerful energy she wielded that could reset nervous systems and blackout cities is contained, and this is just a panic attack.

She has no agenda, exactly, but still she waits. Times passes easily, Sappho amusing herself with spiked blood and the lips of whatever girl has caught her attention for the time. She takes two of them into a private room, but merely plays the role of director – watching and wanting…but refusing herself the joy of joining. She knows there will come a time during the night where her restless thirst will win out, but she enjoys the game. The longer she waits, the more eager she becomes, the better it will be.
The leather straps wrapped around her body feel like someone’s grip if she allows her mind to wander far enough. She lets that idea run through her thoughts some. So far, none of the girls have stood out to her as the one or ones who will earn her little reward. But, Sappho is very near her wits end, and allows herself to be engulfed by a group of eager girls who’s soft fingertips all but beg to touch her skin; she indulges them to an extent.
Sappho finds herself scanning the group around her, watching hungrily as two of the girls begin to kiss each other at her request. She’s just decided on taking every single one of them to bed, to finally quench her thirst, when she catches the wide eyed expression of one of her girls – looking just behind Sappho. She is about to turn when familiar fingers are pulling firmly at her jaw. It takes Sappho a moment to breathe all of Hall in, and she closes her eyes as she leans against her forehead.
“Kimmy.” She breathes, quiet enough so only they can hear. A wave of need hits Sappho, and her knees nearly buckle at it’s strength. “ Ο γλυκός μου κυνηγός . How I’ve missed you.” And she is placing sweet, wanting kissed on the Hall’s beautiful collarbone, pulling back only so that her eyes can devour the sight of her. She fills all of her senses with the woman in front of her, and allows her lips to spread, as an excited laugh bubbles up from her chest.. “ I think I may have been waiting for you. “

Hall tugs at the poet’s chin, her other hand winding around her waist to hold her, like a dancer’s pair. “I’m shocked I didn’t pick up your scent earlier,” Hall muses, and leans in once her age old companion has had a few seconds to drink her in, to kiss her well and properly on the lips.
It isn’t an indulgent kiss, hardly drawn out nor vulgar even in the presence of other party goers, but it is insistent, searching. Hall’s fingers press into her flesh, and parts her lips against the other vampire’s in an embrace that might have onlookers blushing, confused by the sentiment, and wondering whether five hours had passed since they last saw each other, or five centuries. “Don’t tell me you’re disappointed with the pickings,” Hall says when she pulls back, a smile on her face befitting a wild cat. “You look ravishing.”

𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄: Leonie Duhaime 𝐀𝐆𝐄: 28 / 525 𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓: 5ft6
𝐎𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: Expert Medical Practitioner, doctor of many frields.
𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒: Structural Invisibility; she can manipulate the opacity of her skin, cardiovascular system, cartilage and muscle, rendering all invisible. She cannot make her bones invisible. This ability is transferable; if she touches someone she can control the opacity of the same structures, this is useful for her work in medicine allowing her to analyse a patient or research specimens non-invasively.
𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋: Autism Spectrum Disorder; specialized interest in medical research and practice (gifted in her field), difficulty showing empathy (conveyed as a bad “bedside manner”) has scripts for such occasions.
She is very clinical in her thinking and expression, even in sexual situations, everything is related to the body and its incredible functions, she is fine with and enjoys being touched as long as she is aware she will be touched, either by being told or seeing it.
Due to the limitations of diagnoses until the ~2010’s leonie does not have a modern understanding of her autism in settings before that time.
𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 / 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘
𝐃𝐎𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑 𝐋𝐄𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐄 𝐃𝐔𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄 is a medical practitIoner and researcher specializing in care of supernaturals. She is a brilliant and dedicated doctor who has only recently, in her several hundred years of life, understood her particular neurodivergence to be that of Autism.
She had spent most of her life accepted and considered among her pack and closes companions as brilliant and loyal, but to outsiders and those who have not had the privilege of being treated by her, she has been known as rather odd.
Shortly after her 28th birthday, in 1523, she was gifted the bite by the pack of werewolves with whom she had taken up residence. Leonie has structural invisibility which allowed her to become highly advanced in her studies of supernatural as well as human physiology. When touching someone she can manipulate the opacity of theirr biological structures and examine them internally and non-invasively.
In 2020 she is 525 years old, and has been travelling the world and learning learning learning. She is a brilliant doctor and has taken care of human and supernatural beings alike the whole time. She is still in touch with her original pack and their descendants, but has travelled extensively over the years and made connections with Caleb Ochoa in the last few hundred years and has found much community with his pack.

In her wolf form, Leonie stands at about 215 cm in height and 425 cm in length, her fur is charcoal grey and dark russet brown, with a dark greyish brown which continues to her underbelly and paws.

𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐄
𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐈𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐌𝐘 𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐆
Electroconvulsive therapy didn’t become a thing until 1938, meaning smeyer really didn’t do any proper research for her characters. The following is a low-down on the treatments Alice received while institutionalized. Alice was admitted with symptoms of delusions (and hysteria), seizures, and migraines.
𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐞.
Effective at easing tonic-clonic, grand mal, and myoclonic seizures.
Difficult to dose due to a long half-life.
Side effects include; depression, lethargy, loss of appetite, nausea/emesis, paresis (weakness of voluntary movement) of the limbs/eyes/vocal cords, and delirium (confusion, abnormal speech, memory loss and trouble concentration).
𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬: 𝐂𝐡𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞.
A minor sedative to reduce anxiety.
Does not suppress epileptiform discharges.
Can be used to treat insomnia.
𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟: 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐞.
Alice experienced migraines often, after seizures (visions).
She would be given codeine and left in a pitch dark room until the pain subsided (usually within 24 hours).
Her dosage would be replenished every four hours until the symptoms stopped.
These migraines would occur at least once a month.
𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲.
Warm baths used to calm excited and agitated behaviour.
Patients could expect a continuous bath treatment to last several hours to several days, sometimes even overnight.
Most effective environment was quiet, low light, with audio stimulation.
Cold packs used for those showing signs of, “excitement and increased motor activity.”
Cold water slowed the blood flow to the brain, decreasing mental and physical activity.
𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬.
Limb holders, typically padded leather, would restrain her wrists and ankles.
If especially agitated, use of a straight jacket was commonplace.
Alice was in a near constant state of sedation, the time she was conscious enough to retain much is debatable. The medication left her largely unable to perform basic tasks on her own, and kept her sleeping most of the time. Her head was shaved when a bout of lice struck her ward.
Essentially due to the symptoms of her medication (delirium, lethargy, paresis), humiliating in some cases (incontinence), and inhibition to act of her own volition (change her own clothes, choose when to eat, when to go to bed, etc), and extreme isolation during hydrotherapy treatments, Alice’s only psychological defense was to dissociate, leading to an extreme case of 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐌𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐀. She does not recall much of the year leading up to her institutionalization, nor the duration of her treatment. Her memory is also a little foggy up until regaining consciousness after surviving the Bite, and waking up alone as a newborn vampire, with an onslaught of powerful visions. The memories aren’t gone however, they are merely repressed due to the emotional trauma she endured.
𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐔𝐒 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
Within the context of Vainglory, and given Alice’s suppressed ability of interdimentional travel, her worst “fits” (visions) and later dissociations actually sent her to the Mirror World (the Noctis homeworld) as some kind of astral projection. She called it Wonderland and that’s where she met Hatter many times throughout her older childhood and teens, eventually visiting for extended periods of time.
