the thing with x reader is like the insert aspect is at will like you can disengage and not read it or keep reading and be like this is not me anymore but readers will somehow make it seem like a gun is being pointed at their head like ‘this IS you and the only you you’ll ever be’ and like it doesn’t have to be like that

also being icked is not assault but that’s a side effect as usual as people’s very real complaints about x reader not being inclusive because it heavily assumed an able bodied cis white woman with specific plain but western compatible personality types but ofc people took this critique and ran and now writers feel like they have to tag minutiae down to if reader brushed their teeth
