Some sort of intro post!

Decided to stop lurking and start actually posting and reblogging stuff, so I thought I'd make an intro post! So...

About Me:

You can call me Catty, I use any pronouns, though primarily she/her since it's what I'm used to, and I identify as an agender woman or agirl (sounds a bit like a contradiction, I know, so I linked some information).

I am likely on the aromantic and asexual spectrums, and I am omni-oriented.

My Interests:

As of writing this, my main fandom is the Marauders, though I don't support Rowling.

Other fandoms I may interact with include non-Marauders Era HP, Stranger Things, Yellowjackets, and Epic: The Musical (current secondary interests), and any other things I randomly get interested in, but expect mostly Marauders

I read and write fanfic, and have occasionally tried my hand at fanart. I have multiple longfics in progress, but will primarily be posting one shots (if anything at all). My AO3 can be found here. Might write original fictions if the inspiration strikes!

I am also a multishipper, and a fan of a lot of rarepairs.

Also also! I have a whump focused side blog, @cattys-whump-corner! As of posting this, I don't have anything on there, but I'll get it going eventually.

House Rosier headcanons

because Evan and Pandora Rosier have bewitched me

their sigil would be some sort of moth or barn owl

their complete name would be "the mighty and eternal house of the rose"

main producers of high quality potion supplies

every herb, plant, extract, root, ... comes from their greenhouses and fields

an empire of greenery

and all sorts of not so green stuff that grows and goes into potions (ask regulus for more details)

house elves do the work but a handful of the senior members of the family handle the specific task of caring for the rose bushes

when I say "handle" I mean keep the keys to the greenhouses and watch as elves do the work

they have magically developed tons of varieties of roses, with special properties (poisonous, everlasting, evergrowing, self-combusting, roses that grow in the winter, ...)

they sell for a crazy price, but are absolute wonders

actually it is kind of a tradition that each heir has to grow a new kind of rose bush, to leave their mark on the legacy of the family and also prove their greatness

now that being said their wealth and status doesn't come from being gardeners

they see their business as more of a charity to the wizarding world, a way to let the rest of them have access to magic

"we do that to allow you to prosper" kind of vibes

now that is not my idea but I don't remember who said it first, please tag them if you know, but they also have a family tree, only it is a literal magical tree

a weeping willow I'd say

with the faces of the founders coming out of the bark

a literal representation of the branches of the family

and there are a couple of other trees surrounding it to represent marriages with other families

because there is more gene variety in that family than in house black lol

I'm sure I'll add more about like their family dynamics, their houses and estates, the members of the family,..., because I can't stop thinking about them

I'm also aware that I'm making it a lot about roses and plants :D

“Not quite as nice as you. My jewels don’t shine like your eyes,” she took a step closer, “oh, and this dress? Well, it’s suffocating. How is one supposed to duel her best friend off in the woods in a dress like this?” She feigned annoyance, “does your ego really hold you back from sparing this poor, lonely woman just one dance? I even brought you all the way out here for it.”

She gestured to the night around them. It really was a lovely view, moonlight dancing around them, music wafting from indoors. They felt untouchable. Just beyond the world that constricted them into cages, was a world of eternal night, where the moon and music welcomed them into another dance.

Druella rolled her eyes as Walburga extended her hand, but there was no hesitance as she took it.

Lola Pettigrew! <3

I love her, dude. She's been through a lot and she's doing her best. Her and Peter get along really well, she's a good mom, and he really respects and looks up to her

Once she wasn't being forced into the role, Lola did come to actually enjoy traditionally feminine stuff — she likes things like cooking and sewing, and she loves being a parent. However, because of her own history, she's very careful to make sure Enid and Peter don't think that's necessary.

Honestly I don't have much to say here since I already talked about her, sooo yeah.

👨‍🍼 Father

Ah yes, Peter's father, who I haven't even bothered to name lol.

Peter was very young when his parents divorced, so he doesn't actually remember his father. All he knows is what he's heard from his family, and that's all bad things. He's a little curious about his father, but ultimately that's never enough to overwhelm all the bad things he's heard, so he never tries to find the man.

🧓 Grandparents

Peter doesn't have any contact with his paternal grandparents or his maternal grandfather. But he does have Cathy and Evelyn (I probably should put Evelyn under step-family, bc she is, but I had more the Rosier family and Dorcas's family in mind there. Plus, you didn't ask about step-family here and I want to talk about Evelyn. So).

Cathy is a knit sweaters, homemade cookies type of grandma. She's also an avid board-gamer and best friends with Effie — I'm a firm believer in childhood friends James and Peter, and I think the Potter and Pettigrew-Reeves families are really close.

Evelyn is a ministry lawyer, working primarily in family court. She's more of a strict, no-nonsense type, and has wound up pretty cynical. But Cathy and the rest of the family definitely help her lighten up a bit.

Anyways, I am (in theory at least) working on a one-shots about them so yeah!

👥 Sibling(s)

Peter is THE annoying little brother, and Enid retaliates as best as she can lol. They're, like, *fingertip one inch away from them* "I'M NOT TOUCHING YOU!!" siblings. They bicker, and they embarrass each other, and they probably steal from each other, and they love each other SO much.

(not to mention, Peter and James are practically inseparable, so she's often has both of them following her around and bothering her lol)

But Enid is also very protective older sibling, even if she'll never admit to it lol.

And then she ends up teaching defense against the dark arts during his sixth year which is AWKWARD for Peter, and Enid thinks that's so funny.

↔️ Other extended family

Genuinely only added this one because I realized I didn't have anywhere I could talk about Peter's nephew LOL.

Anyways, I've named the kid Jackson, but I might end up changing that later Idk.

Peter love that kid and is determined to be the fun uncle. Although he doesn't really understand what being the fun uncle entirely entails, since he didn't really have one himself. Plus he knows nothing about little kids lol. But he's trying!

Actually, if I end up wanting a more light-hearted plotline during the ADT post-Hogwarts arc (since that timeframe is mostly focused on angsty war stuff) I just got the idea of Sirius babysitting Tonks at the same time as Peter is babysitting Jackson, and now the fresh-out-of-Hogwarts Marauders have to figure out how to take care of a five-year-old and a one-year-old lol.

Aaand. Yeah. I think that's all I've got.

So, to celebrate, I've set up this ask game about my family headcanons for the Marauders era!

ADT Family Ask Game

Mary’s skirt rode up a bit when she propped her legs up against the stone wall, and Peter looked down quickly at the grass he fiddled with between his fingers.

They were hidden away behind the castle, where nobody ever bothered to check on, even Filch. A spot Peter had found with the help of the map.

And half of Mary’s head was on his lap, pillowy hair forming a halo as she lazily lifted a spliff to her lips.

“The sky is so beautiful,” She furrowed her eyes at the clouds, “We don’t appreciate it enough when it’s just blue. only when it’s a sunset or a sunrise or something else, y’know?”.

“Like you”, Peter regarded his own spliff, “You’re beautiful, and I like you when you’re burping like a troll or spilling soup on my best robes just as well as I like you all dolled up”.

Mary cackled so hard she snorted, “Such prose! You’re almost becoming James,” she put the back of her hand to her forehead dramatically, “Oh, Lily! My muse, my soul, my bleeding heart!”.

Peter shook his head chuckling, “Yeah, I’m not that bad”. Mary’s laughter ebbed away, her finger came up to trace Peter’s face, stopping at his nose to squeeze it between her knuckles a few times, making a honking sound when she did, “You’re like the sky too you know”, she said contemplatively.

“No matter how much you say you’re ‘boring’ or ‘average’ I can’t see what you mean”, Mary frowned slightly, “I like you blue. Don’t want the stars or lightening or anything else”.

Peter looked down at her, a pang struck through his chest at how genuine she looked. She cupped his face now, all big brown eyes, and words he’d never deserve.

Better not dwell on that, “Mmm, I think you’ve had enough, babe”, He snatched the spliff from her free hand and put it out on the ground, snickering at her offended gasp, “Before you start writing poetry”.

Mary groaned with faux irritation, prodding at his face lightly all over and almost poking his eye, “How dare you?”, she muttered before smushing his face between her fingers and bending it towards her.

“Let me make up for it?” Peter smirked before their lips met, Mary only rolled her eyes. And they stayed there a couple more hours, giggling against each other like the sky would never grow dark.
