Graphic or Web?

No one ever knows what they want to do unless they've experienced it.  Pursuing my bachelors in web and graphic design allows me to learn both aspects and focus on one more than the other if I do choose to.  My bacheolor's focus (what it reads on paper) is web.  I am capable of coding in html, javascript, CSS and I have worked with UI and UX.  I do agree that everything is (already and going to be) technology based ie internet and digital.  I also have graphic design under my belt (photography, packaging, layout design, branding and etc.).  

When it comes down to it--Will I choose one over the other?  Do what I love or do what is more so demanded.  Well in that case--it willl be TBA (to be announced) ASAP.  I'm still in the works.  Stay tuned and you may just find out in my next blog.

Step 2: My 3 strongest designs.

These three were the ones chosen to further illustrate.  I had to measure the packaged boxes to figure out what the dimensions would be for the display.  The simplest design to construct would be the last two designs.  Although the first one looks better, the curves would be difficult to achieve and also, mechanically, there would have to be a flap on the inside allowing it to dispense one box at a time.  And I'm honestly not an engineer so the best one that was very pleasing to the eye and simple to do was the second to last.  The very last was too simple and kind of boring not allowing it to stand out on a counter.  Because quite honestly, there are other designs of other candies very similar to it.

Stage 1: Lemon Head POP displays

First 10 are gravity-fed displays that I have sketched out.  The last 10 are shipper displays.  These were just some ideas I played with that would go well with the boxed up lemon heads.  There were only 3 really strong designs that my teacher had me further illustrate with details.

Conceptual Design Class Sketches.  These sketches were roughly drawn by me for a Lemon-Head candy boxes Point of Purchase (POP) display designs.  The idea was to have 10 Gravity Fed designs and 10 shipper designs all small enough to be displayed on counters.

Kohei Nawa, "Foam" (2013)

"Kohei Nawa’s latest work, which headlined the Aichi Triennale in Nagoya, is a large-scale installation of billowing foam clouds. Nawa spent weeks experimenting with concoctions of detergent, glycerin and water so as to create a foam stiff enough to hold shape, thus creating his installation “Foam”. Visitors were allowed to walk through a gymnasium-sized space filled with ever-evolving foam shapes that, in Nawa’s own words, “should feel like [you’re] walking through clouds.” - Spoon & Tamago
