Art, especially Studio Ghibli, is expression, emotion, passion, and dedication. Art is not something inaccessible. It is not expensive to learn, there are so many free resources online. I started with printer paper, a yellow pencil, and a smudgy eraser.
There is no excuse for using AI to follow a disrespectful trend online. It's hurtful as someone who picked up a pencil one day and learned how to build a face with simple lines. I was not born with talent, I was not granted a gift of skill. This was something I worked day and night to earn. It's incredibly disrespectful and disgusting to not only be using AI to imitate one of humanity's most incredible abilities, but it's even more disrespectful to not listen to the people who have dedicated their life, body, and soul to the act of creating. What will encourage a child to learn how to draw when they can simply generate whatever they want with a computer?
This is not innovation, this is not amazing, this is a degustating use of willful ignorance.
