When she hid her face against him he couldnât help but laugh, lifting one of his hands up to rest against the back of her neck. He was flattered that sheâd get emotional over it, but he didnât want her to cry. He also just wasnât good with tears, never had been.
âYouâre biased,â nearly twenty feet with a mouth filled with teeth as sharp as a sharkâs? Only something a motherâand a girlfriend, apparentlyâcould love. But, Lucas did enjoy their deeper communication, enjoying the sound of her voice that seemed oh-so special to be able to hear. He couldnât even describe itâbut it was comforting, either way. A voice that matched her very well.
âPersistent is a word for it,â the selkie huffed a little, about ready to be done wandering the place. It would be open for a while longer, but he didnât have to stay. Which meant they could sneak off and maybe get some of the crazy seal time, the weather was nice outside after all.
Her question made him purse his lips a little, shrugging after a moment, âA while. I didnât have a set idea for anything until I looked at the shots Iâd taken,â he, too, was biased, and enjoyed catching her doing what she loved. Grinning, the tall man leaned down to kiss her temple, beginning to tug her towards the exit that they were already so close to, âLetâs go swim,â now that theyâd mentioned that communication, he wanted to hear her again.
And with that, he playfully lifted her off her feet and swept her out the doorânot very sneakily, but enough to get his point across. A deep chuckle escaped him as he placed her onto her feet a few paces away from the door. âWe can break into the pool area, or go to the lake? Do you wanna?â
Eh, the event could handle itself. There were other students there keeping track of things, so he'd just buy them lunch or something for taking over for him. Not like anything was going to get stolen, and people could contact him in other ways if they wanted to know more.
Escaping into nature had become a comfort for him as well, even if he liked being around others and wasn't easily over-stimulated, he preferred her company over others. And her love for nature was contagious. The sun would indeed be setting soon enough, but at least the lights from the underwater casino would keep the water lit up, and it wasn't as if he couldn't see in the dark, anyway--as a seal, at least.
Once they made it to the lake, he had to dig into his pocket for a small bag, one which was enchanted to hold the seal-skin that he needed to transform. "You're so pushy," he teased, taking a moment to remove his own clothes, lazily folding them and dropping them into a pile. Unlike her, he had to completely strip, so it wasn't as if he was shy about being naked around the woman--even if it was just for a short moment.
Pulling the selkie-skin free of the bag, it only took a moment for his true form to come to life, the large leopard seal practically dwarfing the woman, more than his human form, at least. The seal was obviously slower on land, but he was being lazy, making his way to the water's edge where Kat was so he could press his nose against her cheek, now-darkened eyes still showing amusement. With that, he dropped his head to press against her belly--and, somehow, even without arms at this point, he used his much larger size to toss her into the water, though not that much further from the shore. And, of course, he was mindful, not wanting to hurt her.
Slipping into the water, he circled around her, even in the shallows, still curious at times how she didn't find this form intimidating. At least, she didn't show it if she felt it. The water was always a comfort to the selkie, so Lucas was happy to spend time this way, and of course, as mentioned, he was happy to be able to communicate with her in their own special way.
"How do you hide a dress under all of that?" He teased, the telepathic communication coming naturally now after all this time. Since they were still in the shallows for his larger body, he moved to circle her once more, nudging his head beneath her arm as his tail flicked a wave of water away from them, then settled with his head half way under water, though his nose and eyes were still above the surface, looking up to her curiously.
Leopard seals definitely didn't have as cute of a gaze as a regular seal, but his eyes still showed his affection for her, even in this much more predatory state.
