When she hid her face against him he couldn’t help but laugh, lifting one of his hands up to rest against the back of her neck. He was flattered that she’d get emotional over it, but he didn’t want her to cry. He also just wasn’t good with tears, never had been.

“You’re biased,” nearly twenty feet with a mouth filled with teeth as sharp as a shark’s? Only something a mother–and a girlfriend, apparently–could love. But, Lucas did enjoy their deeper communication, enjoying the sound of her voice that seemed oh-so special to be able to hear. He couldn’t even describe it–but it was comforting, either way. A voice that matched her very well.

“Persistent is a word for it,” the selkie huffed a little, about ready to be done wandering the place. It would be open for a while longer, but he didn’t have to stay. Which meant they could sneak off and maybe get some of the crazy seal time, the weather was nice outside after all.

Her question made him purse his lips a little, shrugging after a moment, “A while. I didn’t have a set idea for anything until I looked at the shots I’d taken,” he, too, was biased, and enjoyed catching her doing what she loved. Grinning, the tall man leaned down to kiss her temple, beginning to tug her towards the exit that they were already so close to, “Let’s go swim,” now that they’d mentioned that communication, he wanted to hear her again.

And with that, he playfully lifted her off her feet and swept her out the door–not very sneakily, but enough to get his point across. A deep chuckle escaped him as he placed her onto her feet a few paces away from the door. “We can break into the pool area, or go to the lake? Do you wanna?”

Her first thought had been to protest him leaving an event that was kind of sort of important, but once they were out of the door and the noise seemed to fade behind them she realized just how over stimulating being in there had been. Maybe, just this once, playing hooky was okay.

Bringing her fingers to her chin and then out quickly she signed 'Lake!" It had been such a gorgeous day and even now though the sun would be setting before too long, the water would be just perfect. Not to mention one of these times when they broke into the pool she was certain they were going to get caught and scolded, again. Third time would probably not be the charm.

Hand in hand they ran from the building leaving behind the prying eyes and the crowds of people in lieu of the tree's the soft hushed tones of the breeze through the leaves and the fresh comforting scent of nature. The lake was usually quiet around this time and as they stopped at the edge of the water she smiled at him finally feeling at ease again.

Like a butterfly shedding its cocoon she removed the various layers of clothing she'd been wearing until she was in a simple black dress. Slipping into the water she splashed him waving him in.

Katarina couldn't help the smirk forming on her lips as she smoothed back her hair and adjusted her ear piece. How did she get 'the gig'?

"Guess I'm just better at my job than you are Nate, thats the difference between hired security and field work. Some of us actually have experience protecting people." As the man turned red in the face, she shrugged a shoulder casually exiting the room as if she hadn't said he was a failure to the job - he was though.

Katarina had worked police force for years deployed in diffent departments as they saw fit and before that she had done... special jobs, military, nothing to say there. It wasnt her first time working as a guard, but it would be her first time as a PPO (Personal Protection Officer). "This is 7-9, Lavender inbound."

The car was pulling up, she nodded for the building doors to be opened before making her way to the car, opening the door to allow her new charge to exit.

"Hello maam, Katarina I'll be your new head of security ma'am, please ma'am, for security reasons I'll be needing you to move inside."

With her back against the wall she was able to relax, just a moment. Her arms crossed, neck rolling back and forth for a moment cracking loudly as she realized just how tense she had been the last few hours. It was always like this coming into a new job but even more so this time knowing that several had failed before her.

"These rooms and the floors above and below." Security had been assigned to both floors much to the fury of the hotel who complained that they needed to rent those rooms. Of course once they realized they would be getting paid all the same they shut up their complaints rather quickly. "I also vetted the house keeping staff, the hotel cooks, your hair and makeup, stylist. Reprogramed their security system to run through my personal server, basic things really." They were anything but basic, but this was why she was considered the best.

"Dobermans," for a moment her eyes had followed the model as she pranced around in next to nothing. If Katarina looked like that - the epitome of every mans dream girl, she probably would do the same. Her eyes slipped shut just as quickly as they had lingered, ever the professional. "They listen well, and are quick to train. And Spaniels...they're just pretty."

Inwardly she sighed, they had been so insistent on shooting on the mountain despite every single protest Katarina had given them. In the end she had gone through ridiculous amounts of work, stress, and money - thankfully not her own, to 'secure' the mountain they would be shooting at.

"No one is allowed within thirty kilometers of the mountain, not just where we're shooting, the mountain. Detainment and holding cells will be onsite for paparazzi's, fans and others who aren't on a list I arranged myself. I arranged for your makeup team and stylist to arrive by helicopter so they won't be followed, decoy vans will be deployed to various filming sites at six and we'll leave here through the back gates at six-fifteen." Though she answered in matter of factly, it had been one of the most comprehensive plans she had ever had to do but she'd be damned if anyone thought she was incapable.

"If there's anything you need before we go I'll need to know, once we're on site it will be...difficult to make changes."

Had it been the smartest thing to attempt healing a rather large buck she had found in an ancient hunters trap? Probably not, had it been worth it once she freed him? Absolutely. He'd let her pet his horns, nuzzled her cheek, trailed her back to the academy offering her his protection. She was almost sure if she called for him he would come... she would have to try it.

But the process had taken its toll on the witch.

She swayed as she walked, rainbow spots forming in her vision as a metallic taste bubbled in the back of her mouth.

The blood was streaming from her nose, rivulets down her face and Katarina bent at the waist just in time to keep it from hitting her clothes. It was a bad one this time and she prepared for the impact of the floor a she felt her knees give out - energy entirely spent, but it never came.

Instead she felt her head rest against a warm body, a firm hand held her elbow keeping her upright as a soft handkerchief pressed against her nose.

"Squeeze, lean forward, breath through your mouth." The vice was deep, soft, just loud enough for her to hear and slowly respond to the orders as the boy carefully shuffled her to a bench to sit.

Glancing at the phone offered to him he blinked as it began to speak. Why was it the smallest people were always the most stubborn. Had the girl passed out he would have been able to carry her to the nurse with one arm; she was so petite. As it stood he would listen to her request though his own lips mirrored hers as he pursed them and sighed.

"Fine, but you don't move until it stops." She mentioned it was slowing down but from where he knelt it still seemed to be bleeding pretty badly and judging by the hands still shaking, he didn't think she was as well as she said.

"Heh," Jungkook smiled as he stood up to stretch his legs before sitting on the bench next to her. "I don't know if that fact is useful, or terrifying, but don't worry. The handkerchief is just for my camera lens, nothing fancy. " Speaking of camera.

The siren rose to his feet moving to where he had been sitting before so he could retrieve his things. No way was he going to let her walk back wherever she came from alone when she was ready.

"Here," He offered her a bottle of water sitting back down. "It hasn't been opened. I thought you might like to rinse your mouth. Nose bleeds suck. Oh! I'll open it for you, sorry."

Oh, oh he was smart and considerate. Katarina flashed him a bright smile at the mention of water. She hadn't realized it till now but all she could taste was the thick metallic taste from the blood that had managed to run into her mouth. It was far from pleasant.

Taking a sip of the offered water she rinsed out her mouth once, then twice before pouring a bit on the handkerchief to clean up some of the blood on her face.

'How's that? A bit less ghastly?' 'Sorry if I scared you. It happens kind of often if I use too much energy.'

By now her eyes had spotted the camera he'd gone to retrieve and she nodded at it curiously.

'What were you taking photos of? Could I see?' It looked like a nice piece of equipment, she only knew a small bit about photos from Lucas but she liked seeing them.

She knew she wasn’t alone in thinking the voice on the phone was terrible and nothing like hers! It was so robotic and strange no matter how much she changed it and while Katarina had no idea what her voice sounded like, it definitely wasn’t that!

The hug. Oh how she had missed this. The rabbit hopped from her arms and into the grass with a huff as she was embraced and the witch tangled her fingers into the soft fabric of Hemlock, holding him tightly.

’I’m a one of a kind witch, and my son is here, he takes care of the school, keeps everyone protected, especially me. ’ She was always a proud mother of such a good boy. Reaching up she tweaked his nose, then patted his cheek.

‘I know you can’t tell me every thing but please, you get some awful cases don’t you?? Some of these students, are worse than gutter snipes!’

’Hmm maybe i should get another tattoo. The last one you did was very pretty. ’

Pointing to the wall he had been sitting on before, she motioned for him to lift her up so they could sit together.

’I wanted to learn new things, new tricks, and hone a few skills. It’s been… challenging… but mmm nice?’

He knew for sure that her voice was nothing like the robotic one coming from the smartphone. Though he was happy she found a voice- perhaps not her own but one she could use nonetheless. “Have you ever read the story of the Little Mermaid?” he asked as he let go again of her after the hug. “It is a terribly sad story but there is a seawitch in it that steals a voice- you should do that too. Steal someone’s voice. I could help you know, get a victim.”

He did not think that she would accept the offer since she was a good witch- as far as he knew. “I get the worst stories but oh darlin’ most of them think they have it so badly and it is nothing compared to whatever we have ever encountered. They are but children in the eyes of those who actually lived.”

He nodded excitedly “You know I will always tattoo you my dearest, how is your son? Is he still as cute? I wonder if he would like to… see me again.” a naughty smirk- it was no secret to Katarina that the boogey and the demon had hooked up a few times. “And you! You a student here now? Now why would you do that…. I bet you know more than all your fellow students and some of the teachers too… hmm…”

A roll of their eyes as she said she was always in danger and even if it was true- what a thing to say! She knew how to make it sound adventurous while it was a dull thing; Hemlock thought: always being in danger. The demon did not thing of it much- demon hunters were always around in some form or another but he did not dwell on it. “You should make life exciting in different ways,” Hemlock pointed out. “There are other good things in life aside from being in danger.”

A hum escaped him as they walked and the demon looked at the sky as she was typing- the sound odd still to them but they did not comment on it more. It was good she had a way to talk outside of writing on a notepad (Hemlock had never picked up sign language, instead he preferred writing and he had written the witch many letters. Preferring that to having her write while he spoke. Snail mail but close-by). “You’re an evil witch.” he teased at her examples of hexes.

“it is good and I won’t leave so quickly now, so don’t you hesitate to call me or come by, I have a therapy office now and I still do my tattoos in my shop- you know the one. The one that has doors all over the world.” he drew a small world on the skin of her hand. “We should not let another half-century pass to see one another again.”

He was one of the only ones that knew that she could be more than a white witch. Every witch dabbled in grey now and then, it was just natural especially in a world full of annoying people. She grinned, the thought of left shoeing some of the students she disliked now on her plan for the evening.

'You're absolutely right, I'm going to bother you so often you'll be sick of me.' She beamed a smile at him skipping along side him in a much better mood than she had been earlier. It was amazing what meeting an old friend could do for you.

The correct guess for her name caught Katarina by surprise and her brow lifted for a moment before her face settled back into the cool expression she preferred. “Yes, Polish and Russian ma’am.” She was named for her Grandmother, a strong woman who had instilled a a strong sense of justice in the girl who grew up to be a body guard. Katarina had loved her like a mother.

As she stood at the back of the room she inwardly sighed. It always went like this, her new charges feigning interest that would soon be forgotten in light of parties, phones and anything else more significant than a lowly bodyguard. 

“I like tea, I like fish, I like puppies. I like the sound of the ocean, I like running, I box daily.” The answers were her standard issue, parroted as she listened to chatter over the ear piece. 

“I already searched them,” She had started that minutes after getting Belle’s name and schedule. “They all cleared minus a few minor infractions. I handled those.” The way she said it was nonchalant though the studio hadn’t been happy to recast a few roles so abruptly. “Like I said, I’m thorough. And no one, is too handsome to try anything. The prettiest flowers are the most poisonous.” 

The rest of the interview squad had arrived and were making a fuss over every piece of equipment being probed and scanned, but she didn’t care. 

“They’re bringing your dress up ma’am. Once your changed we’ll move upstairs, the floors been swept and the photographer is waiting.”

Belle had been through a lot of proper and expensive education and it had somehow paid off. In a way- she might be a spoiled little cunt at times but she wasn’t dumb. “I never visited Russia.” she mused out loud as the other had answered and then frowned a little at the answer. “Do you like fish and puppies to… keep or eat?” the woman asked, confused a little.

Tea, that ticked a little box in her brain and she would remember it in the future. For now she just huffed when Katarina said she had already searched the other actors. Her eyes on the woman almost the whole time as if she couldn’t believe Katarina was real. She didn’t, not really- the other was too small and too… pretty to be a bodyguard.

Used to the big balding men who were five times her size this was new, she sighed and nodded as she got up and started to undress immediately. Putting on the dress as it was brought in and without shame moved in her luxurious lingerie. Obviously, someone who was comfortable in her body and under watch.

“Well, let’s go then.”

The shoots went good and after a few hours Belle was tired and yawned. Time to home she supposed- or well the hotel room she would be staying in during the filming of the drama.

“I usually order for my bodyguard too-” she said as she held her phone and dismissed the hotel food and instead wanted to order in. “What do you fancy?”

The question had caught her off guard, usually she said the things she liked and her clients would nod like they had actually heard her when in reality they had long checked out. "To..to keep, they're cute." Her face remained a carefully blank slate but she was resisting the urge to squirm under the constant gaze from Belle-Lilith.

She could count on one hand the times the model her looked away from her since they met. Instead it seemed like every time she glanced over eyes were settled on her as if memorizing everything about her. It was...flattering? Unsettling? She wasn't sure. Her own gaze had very carefully remained pinned on the ground as she changed...okay well no she had gotten a few gazes in herself but only when her back was turned...she was no better than a man.

The shoots had gone over simple. She had done her job well enough that every one knew their roles and no mishaps had occurred. Now all she wanted was a hot shower and to sleep, but she still needed to swing by the gym for a session. Her thoughts of reps and exercises were broken as she blinked at the phone being offered to her, a menu pulled up to a nearby restaurant.

"Oh no, it's okay I usua-" What could she say? That she had a room temp salad sitting in her bag and a protein shake that she'd prepared that morning and forgotten to drink? Belle-Lilith didn't seem like the type to take no for an answer and so Katarina pursed her lips, took the phone and scanned the menu before speaking.

"Shrimp linguini and a cappuccino please." If she was going to eat carbs this late she'd need the caffeine to get a full gym session in after. "Please let them know I'll meet them at the gate to check everything, not the front door."

When they returned to the hotel she had done a check of the room and once cleared allowed the model in, waiting by the wall. "Do you have any questions about tomorrows schedule maam?"

[ BREATHE ]: sender takes the receiver's cold hands and begins to gently blow warm air over them in an effort to keep the receiver warm.

[ EMBRACE ]: sender wraps their arms around the receiver and holds them close in an effort to conserve body heat during a snow storm.
