"You’d do better to keep your mouth shut, Luxanna Crownguard." Her taunts meant nothing for he knew if anything, her words were merely empty threats. Being this close to the prodigy, it was clear that fear had already struck her.

"I hope you understand your predicament. I’m sure by now you realise now your Demacian guards do not have a chance against me. If anything, I now hold their dear prodigy in my hands.” Soft whispers replied to the futile struggles of the mage. Digits traced the smooth skin of her face as he reveled in the fact he had to suppress his blood lust — it was rare that he never killed when presented with the opportunity; much less when he had it in his hands twice. That being said, the assassin was also slightly irritated. A simple reconnaissance quickly escalated to taking one of the prestigious members of Demacia hostage. He would have already taken her life if it weren’t for the serious political implications it had for Noxus and the pressure from the Institute of War. Boisterous clanking of boots could be heard from the hallway as the guards approached the quarters of the prodigy.

His whispers, though soft, conveyed his extremely firm and aggressive attitude. “The guards are here. All you need to do is say that you’re alright and send them off.”As he spoke, he grabbed the blonde’s wrist, straightening her arm as he pulled it backward in an awkward fashion, causing her to arch forward slightly as he emphasized the cold steel on her soft flesh.

At this point, Lux had already figured the crook holding her hostage realized just who she was. That was why she was still alive, after-all. Talon spoke honestly. The two armored brutes who clambered nosily up the spiral stair case would be no match for the speed and stealth of this man born of shadows. She tries her best to lean her face away from his condescending appendages that trace her cool supple flesh- the glint of silver stopping her at once. His fingers leave a trail of warmth in her skin, felt even through his dark gloves. "You are correct." Lux whispers, no use in pretending. The blonde whimpers under her breath, flinching at the harsh position she is shoved into, the pressure on her arm urging her closer into the blade pressed so carefully against her neck. At once, gauntlets are heard rocking on the door. "Luxanna!?" A gruff voice is heard, worry evident. Luxanna licks her lips, inhaling a shaky breath. "Apologies, guards! It seems sometimes I do not realize my own abilities. No worries, I'll make sure it gets taken care in the morning.. Continue with your duties~!" It was a terribly practiced speech- her mask was a carefully placed one. How long had she been able to do this? Lie about how she felt? Now was not the time to think about it.. The room was silent save for her erratic heartbeat and panting. The silence was terrifying. "What.. what do you want? Who are you? What do you plan on doing..?"

And it was then the wall before them spontaneously erupted, and Luxanna flew straight into his direction. Without time to react, the force propelled both of them towards the end of the corridor, with Talon losing grip on his dagger

The inertia from the blast was immense that they had some air time before hitting a wall, so Talon kicked the ground forcefully, instinctively wrapping the mage’s waist with one arm to keep her close. It’s probably safer to keep her close to prevent her from doing anything excessive. At least for Talon, that was his rationale. Should she activate her magic again, he could at least take her down.

Somersaulting reduced the inertia from the blast, and with a safe landing, Talon threatened Luxanna with another dagger that he whipped out from his cloak. The fact that his hood came off during the tussle was less of a problem — there were more important things to address now. He pulled her into the room where she came from, closing the door behind him as leaned against it. His knife pressed against the center of her neck, he now held her as close to his chest as possible.

"The guards are coming. Do not make a sound, or you’re not going to be so lucky this time," he softly whispered into her ears.

And he thought the royal palace was a chore to infiltrate.

A brilliant idea, though she forgot to take into account the mysterious man's incredible finesse- foolish.. she blamed it on not being to actually see him but she should have given him more credit for being able to even get the jump on her in the fist place. She realized this was a grave mistake and she was lucky to even be alive.. If there was another opportunity like before it needed to be absolute- she would not be given three chances..

She leans into the man as he leaps with her. Impressive. Sadly, Lux did not have the time at the moment to applaud his instinctive reply. As the blonde is pulled into the room she had just left, her office, his warmth is noticed. Round two of the knife... If he had planned to kill her, needless to say he would have already. That meant several things. One, he realized just exactly who she was.. For some that was all the more reason to kill her.. for those a bit more ambitious they would realize Lux was an incredible asset alive. That separated petty street crooks from silent assassins. Luxanna feels goosebumps rise to her skin as Talon's warm breath dances past her ear. "Your idle threats will not buy you anymore time, assassin." She more or less spits, but stays still and pressed against him. "You are in quite the predicament. Demacian guards are relentless and swift bringers of justice as I'm sure you've heard... Plus, You hold the military genius of Demacia within your hands- just what exactly do you plan to do? I do not think killing me is in your best intention.. Plus if you were after my life you would have taken it already. What.. do you want from me?" Her hands tremble, but her voice does not. Her resolution is firm, but she knows the man so close to her can feel her shaking.

He tensed as he watched the figure slowly approach, her eyes glinting under the illumination of the light every time she passed a window as she stared out into the dark sky. The pounding rain helped in concealing his presence, since it seemed to be a great distraction.

The girl was holding a stack of files under her arm, meaning that she would not be able to retaliate quickly — as she got closer, her features were slowly revealed under the flickering lights; frills could be seen fluttering as she took light steps towards to stairs. At the first glance, he immediately identified the girl to be Luxanna Crownguard. There was no way he would have not be informed of the prodigy, even if he had not met her personally on the fields before. Her distinct blonde hair sealed the deal.

Damn it. A magic user and a champion, no less. This will be complicated.

The moment she got close enough, the assassin ducked under and got behind the mage, having his blade line up next to her neck in an instant. ”Raise your hands forward and open your palms. Don’t point them up. I’m not here to kill you, but any other action will be deemed as hostile and I will slit your neck regardless.”

If anyone had asked her what she felt, Lux would have told them amazement. The absolute silence and stealth the man moved with was incredible. Truly, this man was a formidable monster of night itself. Her body tenses immediately, and a small noise of surprise passes her lips. One might have assumed this is where Lux would have screamed if she were a fool, but the cold edge of steel pressing against the soft flesh of her neck told her that wasn't exactly a brilliant idea. His words are soft, quiet like the shadows themselves and she strains herself to even hear his command over the torrent outside.. and within of course- her heart beats louder than the thunder outside. "Okay." She murmurs quietly, her hands are trembling- this was probably a bad time to realize it. Luxanna is no fool. But she also realizes an assassin's greatest weapon is surprise itself. She wonders briefly what this man is after but figures now is not the time. With visible hesitation, Luxanna raises both trembling arms- file folder plopping to the floor spilling a couple notes onto the floor. This is where she makes her move. At once, something dull and unseeable forms within the palm of her hands. It's energy, forced dark through Luxanna's will itself. Normally, her willed energy is bright like the light itself.. But her mastery over magic and illusions was amazing- this was not exactly an easy task for her but it was one she could do- obviously. No noise is made from Luxanna as the blast leaves her hands, but the wall opposite her open palms erupts suddenly, bedrock and brick torn and tumbling from the wall. The force of release itself sends her rocketing backwards into Talon himself. With how close they were, there was no easy way to dodge the blonde's suddenly in motion body, and with her moving backwards INTO Talon, it would keep her safe from the dagger against her neck.

In Demacia — again. How many times had Talon been here? Was it eight? This probably made it the ninth time. Reconnaissance was a chore, especially if it involved the royal palace. He wished his father would have sent him somewhere less mundane, but it was an order nonetheless. Security was lax, given that there were only two guards who would probably keep themselves occupied and distracted with lighthearted chatter as the rain pounded against the stone walls of the building.

Sneaking in through the windows on the second floor, the Blade’s Shadow immediately made headway for upper levels where he was informed that the document that he was looking for was possibly there. The upper floors, unlike the lobby, were simply softly illuminated by the street lamps outside the streets, shadows cast by walls alternated between light that entered through windows. As he swiftly paced towards the end of the walkway on the sixth floor, the sound of doors opening could be heard, prompting him to hide in the shadows.

A slender figure emerged as she gazed towards the night sky. Why would anyone still be here? Regardless, he kept still within the shadows hoping that she would just return to her quarters. He would be left with no choice but to silence her if she had found out there was an intruder.

He waited silently, blade in hand.

It was true, security in Demacia had been slacking. With the Institute being up now,and the announcement of Runeterra's disputes to be brought to the summoner's attention, people thought the hostility would cease. She could only assume Noxus and the like had similar mind sets as she did.. Someone there had too at at least. Right? Was it foolish to think of your enemy as equals instead of inferior? Such a mindset did not prepare you for the truth and what was to eventually come. Talon went unnoticed, the blonde letting a lengthy sigh fill the comforting silence around her. A bundle of files was seen under her arm within the flickering lights that barely illuminated the hallway. One could only assume anything of relative importance was within said folder. The time touched her mind for a fleeting moment. It wasn't of importance right now. She guessed it was about 2 in the morning, most people who worked early wouldn't even be up to start their day for another 3 hours at the latest. So it seems that walk was going to happen after-all~ The blonde moves blissfully unaware of who is around her. Mind you, unaware and unprepared are vastly different things when you are the tactical and magical prodigy of Demacia itself...~

Rain always brought a layer of mellow to the bright white city of Demacia. It was easy to fall prey to the rolling pillows of greys and purples. Beautiful to some, Lux included but she would never admit it. She stood for kindness, for light and for love and for justice.. Just what would her people say if she were to ever admit her love for the darkness that crawled and pulled itself over the sky? The blonde spent most of her day glued to her chair within her office space, pen dancing across papers. With the arrival of the Institute, the tension in Runeterra was noticeably lighter. That wasn't to say it had vanished completely and it would be foolish for anyone to think it would within a day. So she planned and thought and worked as she did every night. What would she do if this happened? If this happened, this would be the best approach.. Sometime during this time, the blonde had fallen asleep on her desk, pen previously skittering to and fro rolling off the desk. When the Crownguard awoke, night had taken Demacia in it's grip, the rain from before pounding relentless and loud against her window. Luxanna realized what had happened and after sighing at her self, she filed what she had done where it needed to be and stepped out of her office quietly. The place was abandoned- city officials all already tucked into bed yet she still moved with fear of bothering or waking anybody. The rain was refreshingly cool against her skin, and for a long moment she gazed upwards and let her mind wander into the night. The mind was such a dangerous and scary place.. Maybe it was best to take a walk through the city and let it sort itself out.. And that's just what she planned to do.

Demacia: now and forever [@Garen;]

"Ah! Well look who it is~!" He lets out a laugh as she wraps her arms around him, not long before picking her up and spinning her. "Lux I’ve missed you too! It’s been busy I’ll tell you that!" He sets her down before ruffling her hair playfully with a gloved hand.

"Well… I have so many stories to tell you I wouldn’t know where to start! No matter, you know that your brother always ends up triumphant! Hahaha!" He crosses his arms in front of him as he laughs and grins at the smaller Crownguard. "And how has my favorite sister been? On your best behavior without me around I hope~?" He chuckles at his joking remark then smiles. It’s been a while so he had not realized how much he missed seeing his beloved sister. It felt nice seeing a familiar face after so long.

Garen is warm, comforting. She leans into his much larger body, grinning as he twirls her as if she was a small child. Though right now, gazing at her battle torn sibling she realizes this is not the case. Amazing.. the way time passes and how quickly the days turn to night. A sigh passes her lips and she waves a finger at Garen. "Yeah yeah..~ That's about the answer I expected from ya'!" Big stories, big monsters- big glory.. A big name. One she knew deep, deep down she would never truly be able to represent. "I'm always well-behaved!" She retorts rather pointedly, holding her head high. "Being the head tactician for Demacia.. I don't exactly have the time to not be, you know?"

Lights and Shadows

The assassin didn’t bother with the feigned politeness expressed to her as she obviously had no reason to do so; this was not some diplomatic meeting, no it was a chanced coming together and absolutely nothing could come of it save a greater rivalry between the two women.

"Not surprising, given your penchant for snooping," Katarina scowled as emerald locked to sapphire. While the Lady’s irritation was apparent, the Noble could visibly see those gears whirring in her head and knew better than to take Lux’s word for surface value.

"You look… Distressed. Oh my, dearest Lux…. What could possibly have you up in a huff? Don’t tell me its because you happen to be chatting with me of all people; you know just as well as I that there are more important issues that need our attentions than a rivalry between our homes.”

"Snooping.." Luxanna repeats, more or less testing the word itself rather than saying it aloud. A grin that would give Katarina a run for her money in it's sincere wickedness touches her features. "I suppose at the end of the day my snooping was child's play. I figured Noxus to be at least a bit more on their guard." Lux speaks with disinterest, the whole experience still very vivid in her mind. Vivid.. and absolutely terrifying. Her mastery over magic was absolute.. but she lacked the nerves of steel that came with the territory. In time, but one had to wonder just how long everyone would be granted the luxury that is time. A giggle bubbles forth, Lux shakes her head sending strands of sunshine here and there. "Please." To the point, all sense of courtesy gone in the single sarcastic word just previously muttered. "You're hardly worth getting upset over, Kat." Truly, there were much more important things to be upset over.. This, at least, the blonde and red-head agreed on. "Your patronizing tone and sarcasm are dull, perhaps you should spend less time spinning around and more time sharpening your mind, hm? I'd love to be of assistance if you require it, Kat!"

The assassin levels her eyes at the prodigy while arms cross over her chest. It wasn’t often she was confronted with those allying with or hailing from Demacia, however when she was it was often for good reason.

Except for now, in which case it would seem that their precious light-bulb had dimmed beyond use of words.

"….. Crownguard," she greeted curtly, brow twitching in slight with the name. "What do you want?"

In a strange way, Lux found peace looking at the red head before her. It was a tangible reminder of why she fought. Why she bled, why she cried, why she woke up every morning. To extinguish those would threaten the peace and sanctity of her precious people. "Nothing, Kat." A pause, followed by appraisal. She was easily read by these tried and trained blue eyes- though her irritation was visible in every sense of the word. "Just.. scoping out the Institute's warriors..." Or whatever you wanted to calll yourself.. A smile parts her plush lips, a forced one that didn't quite touch her eyes.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Did I miss the beginnings of the Piltover Fashion Show?! If Pantheon and Ezzy-boy have decided to don dresses for their act, I want to pick the costumes for everyone else. And I saaaay… Lux should wear this, and Janna should wear this.

"Did.. did someone skin Tibberz for that...!?" Lord knows Lux wasn't going to be the one to be wearing it when Annie found out.

"What sort of man begs for release under such stress?" Pantheon bellowed at the blond boy who was having the dress removed by Lux. "How pitiful asking for help. Have you no pride? If you truly are a man, then you puff out your chest and say with confidence 'Yes, I like to wear dresses! That is of no concern to you!'". Pantheon puffed his chest with his fists on his waists.

”Pride, I do have but when another already has you in checkmate you can not do anything, the only seemingly reasonable thing you could do is plead. Especially if your life hasn’t been long enough for you to fulfill your dreams, such as mine.” Ezreal didn’t trust his life in the hands of someone so menacing and chaotic as Jinx.

”I have more ‘pride’ then you would have sought from me. Besides, I don’t like wearing dresses! Why don’t you wear the dress!?”

"I am disappointed, Ezreal." His voice lowered as he crossed his arms and shook his head. "The war is never finished until you are the last one standing! And even so, embrace defeat, learn from your mistakes, and don’t let such petty problems such as dresses lead you astray!"

Pantheon pulled the dress off of Ezreal and put it on himself, to prove a point. His chest was ripping through the fabric, and the skirt was too high up to hide any of his undergarments. But the proud warrior cared for none of these, for he has embraced the path he chose. He puffed out his chest and put his fists on his waists. “You are still young, Ezreal, and that is correct. You have many more hardships ahead of you. Which is why you must stand and fight for your future, and not let anyone else trample over you like a rug!” The fire in Pantheon’s eyes gleamed brightly.

“Thank you. A lot.” Ezreal had always ccme to Lux for most things, and this was no exception.

Lux found herself giggling, fingers reaching for the zipper that was, in Ezreal's defense, located towards the middle of his back. "No worries! What're friends for, right?" She tugs downwards with one hand, but reaches around and keeps the dress at least pressed up against his chest- just in case he wasn't wearing anything under.....

”-….oh…” A pause, followed by visual appraisal. “Uhm well, if it’s any consolation you look very uhm.. cute? in the dress…”

”Lux! This isn’t funny!” He was in complete distress, one could say he was over exaggerating.

”Cute?” Ezreal suddenly paused.

"Cute." Repeated the blonde. "Don't be so stressed over it, right? It's just a dress. Here, turn around. I'll unzip it for you, Ezreal."

My own well-being is not really my concern. But I shan’t be so somber with Miss Crownguard…

She raised her sunglasses; her own sky blue gaze, unobstructed, met the oceans of blue opposing it. For a fleeting moment, Vayne’s usual scowl hinted at a soft smile. “Well enough, thank you.”
