Imbolc, in the Celtic seasonal calendar marks the beginning of the lambing season and signals the beginning of Spring and the stirrings of new life.

The original word Imbolg means ‘in the belly.’ All is pregnant and expectant, like the gentle curve of a ‘just showing’ pregnancy. It is the promise of renewal, of hidden potential, of earth awakening, life-force stirring.

Divination is a huge part of my practice. I work a lot with votive candles. I enjoy blessing and setting intentions within my candles and then anointing them in my favorite ritual oils. I sometimes then practice candle gazing meditation once my intention is set to help me focus on its fruition. Allowing the candle to burn out on its own, I then read the wax. This is another form of divination that sometimes helps give you clarity in your manifestions. Magic is all around us in the simplest ways, all we have to do is be open to receive.
