Hello hello! I'm back from the dead I bring with me... A gift... A short story I've been working on!

Now. This isn't part of any fandom, this is my own original piece but I would LOVE to see if any of you talented people come up with any fan art or ideas for this project! It means a lot to me and I hope you all enjoy it :)

A young boy lived in a cabin with his parents with the woods surrounding the three of them. Nothing could be seen for miles, but the boy swore he could see things moving in the trees every now and then. Living in the woods for as long as he has, he simply has become in tune with the normal animals and sounds that you come to love. The things that had recently appeared near his house were nowhere near animal shaped, as he knew very well what animals looked like, these were more humanoid, more stalkerish, more evil and would lurk in the forest. Has he seen these beings before? Absolutely but he always chose to ignore them out of fear of what would happen to him or let alone his parents if he ever acknowledged them, he wanted to figure out what they were and what in god's name they wanted with his family. He wanted to go to them, to talk to them in a civilized manner but something in his body forbode him from even stepping near the... creatures.

He decided to ignore them for the rest of the day but he knew that the creatures knew what he was doing and they kept in his line of sight constantly, during night he locked everything and wouldn’t get a wink of sleep incase these things got near his family, determined to not let them plague his dear parents as they were him. When he woke, these demons (at least that’s what they seemed like to him) were even closer and he felt his breath hitch, what were these things planning to do to him? If anything, that is. Were they simply a hallucination? Certainly not, they were too real! He knew they were real but every bone, every fiber in his being was determined to find a flaw with what was now his reality.

The reality in question has become even more nightmarish; ever since the creatures realized they had caught the boys attention it wasn’t long before they were attempting to drive him to insanity, with the stares, the lurking, the whispering, God the whispering. That last one had only begun a few days ago but it was surely the worst, he could never make out what the creatures demanded of him, but he knew with absolute certainty there was nothing good to make of it. After the whispering had begun, the possibility of getting any sleep had vanished and he was losing it every second that had ticked by. He tried to think back to how long he's been dealing with this, it was hard to tell. At this point time had begun to blur and he couldn’t seem to find any order again. On the matter of time, he began to think; how long has he been dealing with this nightmare? A week? A few days? A month? God knows at this point, if he's even out there.

His parents realized their precious boy was not who he used to be, locking himself in his small, cluttered room, not the student he was or the boy they had loved, that they had raised to have a better life than them. Alas in this small room, in this small cabin, in this large, vast, whispering woods he devolved into a madman wanting to get peace, to find a way out of this hell. If not for him then for his parents, the shadows, as he described them to the psychiatrist that he had been seeing, only ever tormented him. Not his mom, not his dad. Him. But everywhere he went was a dead end, every offer he had made with them ended in them hissing obscenities at him that had him wanting to end this miserable existence. The demons had moved closer to his once safe home, every morning when the sweet birds would chirp is when they stalked, now they resided right outside his windows, all of them. No space was safe from their eyes; his life had been divulged into constant paranoia and nightmares. His deepest secrets always being whispered in his ears, a reminder of the person he had locked away from his parents and the world, a reminder of the disappointment he truly was, a reminder of the self-hatred he possessed.
