Unlike a lot of people who hated Steve Carlsberg from the beginning because Cecil hated him , I didn’t, I just thought he is a character the main character hates for no reason

when cecil starts drinking again so abby lowkey gets flashbacks to their mom and pushes him away from her emotionally and physically which makes him drink more because she’s the only person he wants validation from 👀

i think everyone should remember that Cecil is an unreliable narrator, he has proven multiple times to have a skewed view of his childhood and a poor memory, this alone makes him unreliable. But also, the entire podcast (mostly) is from his point of view, all we know about the characters is what he tells us, and he’s also admitted to being biased. Things “change” from his childhood so often because his brain is fighting itself so that he won’t remember, a common symptom those with trauma disorders experience.
