We are excited to announce this year we will be running a HARRY/DRACO REVERSE BIG BANG!!!

When we decided to create the Harry/Draco Big Bang in 2018, our intention was not to run the fest in consecutive years, in order to give authors, readers, and mods a chance to recuperate after the intensity of such an enormous challenge. However, your loyal mods have been toying around with running a slightly different kind of bang, and have decided 2022 is our year!

We wanted to create a fest with a similar energy to our big bang, but with a lower word count commitment–only 5,000 words! The flipped format of creating the art before the fic will also give our stunning Drarry artists a chance to really influence what kinds of fics our talented writers produce!

Your mods, @gracerene and @writcraft, are delighted to welcome you back for another year of banging! We’re super excited about this challenge and we hope you are too! Please check out the rules and timeline below to get a sense for what’s involved and do consider joining us on 1 March 2022!

“It’s bad that you need help defeating a girl and a Slytherin,” Neville says as he grabs some more snow. A snowball hits Draco straight in the face. He sputters and looks horrified. And then he laughs. His entire face lights up and even without any sound, it’s clear he loves this day. Then he spots Harry staring at him and throws his snowball at him instead of Neville. Only Harry’s reflexes are quick enough and he dodges the ball. Then he grabs some snow and joins his friends in the snow fight.

I loved illustrating this scene for the @harrydracobang fest! It makes me excited for winter to come around, even though the cold makes me take too many naps. I hope you take the time to enjoy the work that @alindakb, @mad1492, and I put into this lovely fic. ♡

The rest of the week was quiet, as far as the pre-orders went and before they knew it, Monday arrived and, yet again, Harry was walking into the shop with a face like thunder. This time though, Draco was prepared. He was in the back room as Harry stomped through the door and, instead of greeting him as he normally would, Draco simply held out a takeaway cup of coffee.

“Thanks,” Harry said, slightly taken aback by the cup being shoved his way. “How did you know?”

“I didn’t. I just assumed from what you told me about your prospective date that it would not go well,” Draco replied with a shrug.
