Mayday(2021)
dir. Karen Cinorre
My heart is broken. Some days, grief sits so heavily in my chest it steals the air from my lungs, and I find myself choking on tears no one else will ever see.
I have no one to talk to, and strangely, I don’t mind. I’ve learned to sit beside my own sorrow. It isn’t easy. It never has been. But I believe there is a quiet kind of strength forged in surviving the nights no one knows about.
So every morning, I gather the pieces of myself and begin again. I go to work. I show up. I give what I can. Every single day.
Maybe resilience isn’t the absence of heartbreak. Maybe it’s choosing to keep moving while carrying it.

I feel like I don’t belong. I just can’t seem to fit in.
