I’ve been turning this over in my head lately. We all have these small things we do, stuff that makes us feel okay. A puzzle on the table, a five-minute scroll, a favorite show you watch on repeat. Nothing huge, but enough to feel normal.
For a lot of people here in California, that “normal” is hitting spin on a sweepstakes casino game. It sounds silly, but for about a million folks, it’s a tiny ritual, a spark of maybe, a little chance, a pause from everything else.
And now that might go away.
California wants to shut these platforms down with a new bill I keep wondering what happens next. Where do all those people go? What will they do with that leftover bit of hope they used to put into a spin?
