[Shop Review] catchop-cd

Hello to whoever is reading this! Hope you're having a great day/evening/night! From the title you can guess what I'm going to talk about , so here is my review!

I don't have many albums, but the majority of those that I own, I bought from catchopcd. Back when I was ordering for the first time (2014), I couldn't find much info on the site, but I've seen that lately a lot of people have been ordering their K-pop albums from catchopcd so if you're having doubts, I hope my review would be of help to you~

Prices Their prices are one of the cheapest I could find, if not the cheapest. I have searched eBay for some of the albums I wanted and the cheapest on eBay was from their eBay site and it was more expensive than from their official site. You can find everything there, from Korean and Japanese music to pop, rock, jazz etc. They don't really sell merchandise in terms of clear files, photocards/postcards, lightsticks and so on, but they have quite a lot of albums, DVDs, concert albums and DVDs, photobooks, posters...

Shipping and delivery They say the package is shipped 24 -48 hours after receipt of payment and they're not lying, they ship stuff really fast! If I have put my order and payment on Sunday night usually it was shipped by Monday morning. For the types of shipping they offer Regular Airmail, Regular Airmail with tracking code, Express and EMS. I always used Regular Airmail, sometimes with tracking code, sometimes without it.

Their site says that delivery time for Europe is 10-20 days and my packages came in 10 working days (actually a bit longer, but that's just my country post offices) For me, one of the "problems" was cost of the package but not because of amount of money I had to pay to catchopcd, but because my country has set limit under which you don't have to pay tax and/or custom. I was a bit worried at first, but catchopcd always put the value of album $15/$20 (even if it was Got Love which I paid $15 or 1of1 and Wings which I paid $40) and check it as a gift^^ The packaging is another thing I was worried when I ordered for the first time. But they wrap albums in so much bubble wrap and put it in either those orange envelopes that also have bubble wrapping inside or in a box, that there's no way you get your album dented (except if your postman shovels your package in your mailbox, which happened to me once, but album was still in perfect condition). Example Placed my order: Sunday, 16th October Shipped: Monday, 17th, October Arrived: Friday, 31st October (at least that's what package slip said)

Overall I simply LOVE catchopcd! Although I haven't ordered from many sites (only catchopcd and ktown4u) so I don't have many to compare it with, I still feel like it's one of the cheapest sites for me. Their prices are really good, although there's no freebies, and shipping is awesome! I believe that customer service is great as well, although I never had to contact them in those 2 years I've been ordering from there~

Play The List: October 2016

Hello! I know there's probably not many people (if there is anyone) reading this, but hope you had a great month/week/day~^^

This month too I compiled a list of the songs released in October that I really really liked and give my 2 cents about them.

6. I.O.I - Very Very Very

Very very very cute song which at first I though I wouldn't like since there's a bit too much repeating, but I guess that repeating is catchy and it really does get into your head~ Speaking of I.O.I, I haven't really listened to their music, except for Whatta Man and Pick Me, which was, well, everywhere lol And I must say that I haven't quite grasped the meaning of the project-group concept, like why make them a group when they are going to disband in a year?

5. SHINee - 1of1

SHINee are going back to the 90's! SHINee were second K-pop group I found out about, back in 2012, and my second bias group as well, so I have some very dear memories with them. And of course, their music is so chill and dances so awesome, that there's no way I won't at least check out their new songs, if not listen to them~

4. Ailee - Home

There's no words to describe how much Ailee slays. And when you put in Yoon Mirae as well, you know song is gonna be LIT! Ailee's vocals blend amazingly with Mirae's rap and are rounded off with catchy beats~

3. Monsta X - Fighter

Monsta X never fail to present amazing songs and choreography! Not sure what else can I say, song is purely awesome. But the thing is that I kind of don't understand MV, but I guess that's okay lol

2. Twice -TT

Twice are back with another cute song, this time Halloween themed. It's catchy and dance is easy but cute, so I guess it's gonna catch on quite fast. Plus, they are already breaking records, that's gotta mean something^^

1. BTS - Blood Sweat & Tears

Surprise, surprise, BTS song is my favourite one for this month!  lol They just killed it and slayed it and broke records (which some of those TWICE later broke again, but nevertheless) and proved that no haters can bring them down. Chorus beat is amazing and catchy and I guess that's the moombahton beat (really should see more into that genre). Vocals and raps are on point, I won't even start on the music video, which is amazing and symbolic, visuals are breathtaking (when haven't they been lol). Outfits are great as well, but I just hate those slippers they had in photoshoot pictures lol

All in all, October was a very interesting month, I have no doubts November will be as well~

Play The List: September 2016

For me, September was one of those months when I don't really listen new releases or I just don't really like new releases (shame on me lol) so it was really easy to pick 5 songs for this month's Play-The-List. And btw, I feel like next month will be a complete opposite of this one, as there's so many groups having comeback in October, BTS being one of them and the one I'm looking forward to the most. Well, then, let's go to the list~

5. Mobb - Hit Me

I'm not really big fan of iKon or Winner (don't know why though, they seem alright and I like their songs) so I wasn't really expecting much of this sub-unit nor I was impatiently expecting the releases. But this song is the jam! I absolutely love the beat! I didn't think I'd like the song but by the end of the video I was singing along to the "빨리 전화해" ("ppalli jeonhwahae ")

And I kind of listened to the rest of their songs ("Body", "Full House", "Holup") but I liked this one the best~

4. Red Velvet - Russian Roulette

Really nice song which I didn't like on the first listen, but that's nothing new, I don't usually like Red Velvet songs on the first listen, but since my sister always plays them, I end up listening to them  and liking them. Plus, it gets in your head and you can't get it out hahahah

3. Song Jieun - Bobby Girl

As a group, I wasn't that crazy about Secret's songs, but I love Jieun's solo releases! She has such a great voice and songs are catchy. And I like the pun in the title, like, it's supposed to be Barbie doll, but I guess it would get banned on music shows anyway, so why bother later lol

2. Mamamoo - New York

"New York" is nice, chill song which I always like to listen. Plus, it's Mamamoo, probably my favourite girl group. I don't think I need to emphasize how great their voices are, since that's normal for them. And this has only been a pre-release, I can't wait for actual comeback song! Oh, but I do have to say, I really hope that's wig on Solar I think I saw her somewhere with long hair (?) , because, well she can't be ugly duuh , but you know, I don't think it it looks the best.

1. GOT7 - Hard Carry

”Hard Carry” is my jam of the month! Beat is amazing! But, like, they killed it vocal-wise, rap-wise, dance-wise, visual-wise everything-wise lol. Plus, there are bunch of theories, which I didn't want to dwell much on, but I'm sure it makes it much more interesting~ I also listened to the whole album as well, for now my favourites are No Jam,  Who's That and Mayday, but all of the songs are awesome^^

5. How did you get into K-pop? 

That’s actually a long story, I'll just tell briefly. It was April 2012 when my sister told me to watch Boyfriend's Boyfriend, and at first I didn't want to but in the end I watched and next thing I know, I was obsessed with K-pop lol 

6. Do you know how to speak Korean?

Not really. I know how to read and basic stuff, but can't keep up the conversation >.<

7. Have you gone to any K-pop concerts?

Unfortunately no T.T

8. Do you have any K-pop merchandise? 

Few BTS albums, few GOT7 albums and one 15& album. And photocards that I got in my albums. 

9. Do you watch variety shows? 

Not really, only if there's someone from one of my bias groups, I somehow can't find time for it T.T 

10. Top 3 biases? 

Ummm... Jungkook (BTS), Mark (GOT7) and... rest of the BTS? lol or Amber

11. What was the first K-pop song you immediately liked upon hearing?

Maybe newer BTS songs like Fire and Save me, or B.A.P Feel So Good. 

12. A K-pop group you really don’t like or don’t want to give a try?

I don't really know why and I know I'm stupid, but I can't really get into any YG group (except AKMU and maybe BlackPink), although I do like their songs 

13. Do ya got a feelin that ur loof is on fiyah? 

Yeah, I guess lol 

14. Who is your least favourite idol/ female or male?

I don't think I have someone like that since I've never tought like that about anyone

15. Do you listen to solo artists as much as groups?

No, although I do listen quite a few solo artists, but still, I listen to more groups.

16. What has been your favourite comeback of the year? 

I think it has to be BTS

17. What is your least favourite concept/era from your favourite group?

BTS? Hmmm, maybe when they just debuted? Not sure though, since I like these songs now, but back then I haven't really 

18. Has your bias acted in any films or dramas at all?

V is now going to be in Hwarang! Other than that, I don't think so.... but GOT7 were in web drama^^ Oh yeah, JJ project were in Dream High 2, and I caught a glimpse of Mark as well in one of the episodes

19. Are you one of those people that stans over trainees or groups before they debut?

Not really, although I was waiting for GOT7 debut because of JJ Project 

20. Who was your first bias ever in the K-pop industry?

Minwoo from Boyfriend

Idk, I wanted something with the first letter L but couldn't find anything, there seems to be no popular Korean names on L T.T 

22. Who would you want as an older brother?

Maybe Jimin from BTS? He seems really nice and gentle... or V, he really likes his siblings^^

23. Who would you want as an older sister? 

Amber or Ailee or... idk lol

24. Funniest couple?

I feel like this could be Eric and Solar, but I haven't watched WGM with them  

25. If your bias kissed you, how would you react? 

Freak out lol

I'd be flattered but I'd have to say "no, thank you." I feel I'm like the only one who would say something like that lol

G-Dragon I guess, although I'm not very big fan of either

Out of the big 3, JYP. It seems like a best combination of everything plus most of the groups have someone who speaks English lol

Idk, there's a lot of good looking idols. But like seriously, they are all gorgeous.

I'd say BTS, but this is really subjective. 

32. Which group would you prefer to be classmates with in real life? 

If I said BTS, would that be too much? lol but really, I feel like they would be so fun to hang out with

Jungkook! Since I feel we're quite similar to in more than few characteristics but also I could help him with homework lol plus, we're same age

No one really, I don't like thinking about idols that way

Play-The-List: My Summer 2016 Jams

Hello everyone! I know I haven't been posting much lately (or in general), this has been a really busy year for me and a lot of stuff happened, but I hope the following school year will be more merciful to me and us all^^

Anyways, since the summer is at its calendrical end, here goes my summer 2016 playlist (June, July, August released songs)! I have to warn you, though, due to my college exams I had almost no time to listen to music, but I managed to pick my 10 favourites~

5. Exo - Monster

Well, what is a list without at least one EXO song lol I was thinking which of the three songs (Monster, Lucky One, Lotto) to choose, but I went with Monster, although at the first listen I didn't like the song much. But it grew on me as time passed. Plus, choreography is awe-some.

4. GFriend - Navillera

GFriend have been sticking to a concept so I guess that's why a lot of their songs sound kind of similar. But nevertheless, all of the songs are catchy and with great choreography and that's a reason I quite like them. Navillera is a really nice and catchy song I quite enjoyed listening to this summer. Plus, I like the meaning behind the word “navillera” and it sounds so beautiful.

3. SISTAR - I Like That 

Sexy but classy sexy and catchy. Can't dislike that. And I like all the sarcasm in the song, eg. “I love you, out of all the words I heard this year, I like those the best.” There’s nothing else to say, Sistar always slay classy sexy concepts. Oh, and I love the choreography and detachable skirts. I believe it’s quite hard to coordinate everything, but they made it seem so effortless.

2. B.A.P. - Thats' My Jam

B.A.P never fails to make me like their songs. But seriously, their title track songs, I loved all of them. And this song is perfect for summer fun^^ As for the MV, I love all of the old songs references, I think it's quite nice (and smart) to remember them~

1. Black Pink - Whistle / Boombayah

May I say that BlackPink slayed! Okay, so I'm usually not a really big fan of YG artists, don't know why though, but I liked those girls immediately. Looks, vocals, rap and dance skills - they have a whole package. I just don't really know their personalities but I believe it's also a part of that amazing package. At the first listen, I prefered Boombayah, but I think I found myself playing Whistle a bit more. Can't wait for their next releases!

I’ve realized I have more girl group/solo songs than boy group songs, which is odd for me. But there were quite a few surprises for me this summer, songs I have not thought I’d like, but I ended up loving.

[Lucy's Monthly K-pop Picks] February 2016

Month of February has been quite busy for me since my semester ended and it was exam period, so this list will be quite short, consisting of only 5/6 songs (in chronological order). Anyways, let's get to the point, shall we?~

1.) GFriend - Rough

I don't know why, but I haven't been a very big fan of GFriend songs. That is, until I listen to them few times. Then I become hooked to them lol Their songs are quite nice and fun and choreography is always on point and their vocals are more than just decent. I'm still not familiar with all of them and don't know their names, but I'm sure I'll start remembering them soon~

2.) 4Minute - Hate

At first, this song was weird for me. Weird transitions and too many different parts. But it grew on me after few times. Now I'm jamming every time it's on lol I love 4Minute with badass concepts like Crazy, I loved that song~ Oh, and I love their oversized sweaters, plain jeans and Timberlands outifit ^^

3.) AOA Cream - I'm Jelly Baby

On the contrary, I liked this song immediately after the first listen. Although I'm not usually a huge fan of cute concepts, this songs is quite catchy and its Sailor Moon concept reminded me of childhood~ Also, I'm glad that less popular members are in the spotlight, like, the three members of AOA that I still do not know are Chanmi, Hyejeong and Mina, so I guess this is going to be great for Hyejeong and Chanmi, to get their names out there a bit more.

4.) MAMAMOO - Taller than You / You're the best

I love those girls! Every single of their songs is awesome, with amazing vocals and catchy. Love how they made a complete song based on 1cm difference between their heights and how they are proud of that 1cm how should I feel with 15cm difference from them hahahah, love their concepts and the image and vibe they give off~  In short, they're awesome! lol I would have put up their other MV too, but Tumblr won’t let me T.T

5.) BAP - Feel So Good

"I wan't only you, when I'm looking at you, I feel so good~" Probably my favourite song this month! First few beats had barely passed and I was already hooked. It's funny and bubbly song, perfect for when you want to forget your own problems and just enjoy the music ^.^ I must say I have expected to like this song even before I listening to it, 'cause I love all of the B.A.P songs~

There were actually more songs that I’ve listened to for the past month, like Winner’s and Taemin’s songs, but as of time I’m writing this, I haven’t been really hooked to them, maybe that’ll change in the following days/weeks~  What were you’re favourite songs for the past month? Play The List (formerly Lucy's Monthly K-pop Picks)

I decided to start series that I'll hopefully post at the beginning of each month. For now, it'll be called Lucy's Monthly K-pop Picks, but I plan to change that name as soon as I think of something better lol

And here I'll talk about my favourite songs that were released that month or at the end of the last one. Please, don't expect detailed analysis of music and/or music videos from me, I'm not really that good with those >.< But you can expect my short opinions on the songs, and of course you're more than welcome to leave me song recommendations ^.^ DISCLAIMER: It is going to be just my personal opinion, I hope no one will be offended because that's definitely not my intention but if you feel like that in any way, I'm sorry ^^;

EDIT: I finally changed the name to Play The List! Since I’m Lucy On The Line, instead of “online”, I thought it may be clever to have Play The List, instead “playlist”, but who knows. Anyways, I liked the name, so until I find something better, Play The List stays! And there will be different editions, for example, Summer Play the List, September Play The List, Throwback Thursday Play The List and so on.

[ShopReview] Ktown4u

So, for my first post, I’m going to review Ktown4u since today I got my first ever package ordered from that site~

I wanted to check out this site for a very long time but always ended up using the one I was always using (going to review that one soon too) since I was really happy with it. In short, I’m really happy with this one too~

Shipping I’ve put my order on the evening of the Feb 16th at my place, which was like 3am of the next day in Korea and Ktown4u shipped it out on 18th and it arrived at my place today, Feb 26th, at 9am so in total 9-10 days since I placed my order (and I live in Europe). I choose the cheapest shipping with tracking - Registered Small Packet (Air) and the estimated delivery time was 7-15 days.

Packaging The albums were packed really good with a lot of bubble wrap, so even though box was a bit bent, they were in perfect condition ^.^ Also they sent out a freebie, a small BTS I guess fanmade photocard, so that’s really nice

What have I ordered? Ah, I have finally ordered BTS HYYH pt. 2 (in The Mood For Love pt. 2) Blue version and their 1st Single 2 Cool 4 Skool!

And I have just noticed it’s their very first and last album lol

So, all in all,I’m pretty content with this website, Only thing that kind of made me nervous was when I was paying, I clicked pay button and it loaded some page but I didn’t actually pay so I was worried if I should click “Pay” again, would it charge me twice. But that was not Ktown4u’s fault but probably my internet connection or my browser. And also a very big plus for me is that you can choose whether they’d put “Gift” or “Merchandise” and what value should they put on the packet, because my country has some really strict/tight customs and VAT rules if package’s value (including shipping) is over 22 Euros.

Not sure if I will purchase every single album from here, since I have always ordered from catchopcd.com and it was really great, but I haven’t noticed that Ktown4u’s service is in any way worse so I'll probably order from both of them, depending which one is the cheapest at the moment (since both have similar prices and those prices are cheapest for me out of all the stores I know of). Anyway, I hope you liked my little review of Ktown4u~

[Sticky Post] Introduction

Hello everyone! ^^ This is supposed to be an introduction post but it feels so weird writing something like this lol Anyways, I'm Lucy and I made this blog to share my K-pop experiences, from ordering online and reviewing sites to writing about my favourite artists and songs. Not sure what else to say. Hope you'll like what I post and that we can be friends~

Also, if you have any suggestions for me, if you want me to write about something or if you have suggestion how to improve my blog design (actually, I’ll be grateful if you could give me a feedback on my design, since I feel something is missing but not sure what) which I’m probably going to change, feel free to message me or ask me :)
